Mitec is a well organized, well run company. I'm very happy with their service. I dropped my computer off late Friday afternoon and by Monday at 5:00 pm, Luis the tech, called me back with a surprising diagnosis. It wasn't my computer at all, but one of my external hard drives that was having issues. Most of the time, I can figure out minor computer problems on my own, but I doubt if I would ever had thought to disconnect my external drives. Luis was a real life saver! As someone who has been working in the IT field for nearly 50 years. I usually can solve most any computer issue I run across. This time I ran into a brick wall with my own personal machine and could not recover it at all. Mitec was well reviewed and after speaking with them, I decided to let them give it a shot since I was out of ideas. I was not disappointed. While my computer ended up truly being dead and was not salvageable, the service that I received from Mitec was second to none. Luis was my tech and Rachel handled customer service. Both were exemplary in assisting me. The technical assessment was thorough and accurate and the solutions offered were on target and made complete sense to me. Essentially they confirmed what I already suspected, that the computer could not be economically repaired. The entire experience was very professional, and as someone who is experienced in this field, I was very impressed with them. Ultimately, I had to replace the machine and recover the data from backups. ALWAYS backup, people! I would not hesitate to go to them again with other thorny issues. Their pricing is fair, their turnaround time is excellent and they are a very well run business IMO. BTW, Mitec also offers wireless internet service in many areas of Ventura in addition to their excellent IT services. Had an old computer that was unused for the past 4 years and was basically dead. But it had almost 2000 photos going back over 10 years. Luis from Mitec was able to "pull" them from my old machine and put them on a thumb drive for me formatted for my IPad. I dropped off my computer on Monday and Tuesday afternoon i picked up my computer and new thumb drive with all my old memories restored for my viewing. So awesome!! Great service!! Mitec took care of everything for us and did not pressure us at all. Casey kept us updated on the status of the new computer and answered any questions we had. My iMac was running terribly slow. After reading all of the positive reviews I decided to give Mitec a try. They diagnosed the problem quickly as a slow/old hard drive and suggested installing an SSD. They upgraded the hard drive and installed updated virus ware. The computer now runs extremely fast, its better than new! I was especially impressed with their communication regarding the status of the repairs. I've used these folks before, but I won't be using them again. While they do excellent work their prices and wait times are not good. I wanted some RAM put into my new MacMini. I had the RAM, I just wanted it installed. They quoted me 3 days and $350. Yeah, an hours job, 3 days and $350. Nope. Took it to another place in Ventura (Ventura County Computers) and they did it in less than an hour for $100. Edit: So Mitec clearly pays attention to Yelp and seems to care. I just received a call from Ryan and he was surprised by my review. We discussed the situation and the over the phone quote that I revived. He states he was shocked that I was quoted that much and that long of a wait. I'm a reasonable person and I understand mistakes are made sometimes and that this may have been one of those times. Ryan has stated he will send me a coupon for 1 free hour of labor and will discuss with his staff how seriously he takes this. With all of that, I will raise them from 2 to 4 stars. The owner seems willing to try and make this right and I truly appreciate his effort. read more

I needed help setting up consistent WiFi throughout my house. I reviewed the services offered by Mitec and read the reviews left on Yelp and decided to give them a call. I received a response a short time later by a polite member of the Mitec team who proceeded to hear what my issues were with the internet at home. A technician was schedule to come to my house to install some equipment and get everything set up. After unsuccessfully going to the Geek Squad twice, I was about ready to give up having my forty-year-old DW3 files converted to readable text with a current OS. But then I discovered Mictec Solutions and Luis, their genius technician. Just started using this company because our Charter Spectrum bills just kept going up. Plus, Mitec is local, which is cool. The prices are reasonable, if you sign a two year contract they don't charge you for installation, and so far the service has been pretty good. In fact, they just sent us an email saying that they have increased the speed in our area but kept the pricing the same! read more

Mitec once did not serve my area. When I discovered they were serving my area this year I immediately signed up. They arrived and spent whatever time they needed to install their best performing Internet service available to my house. They even routed the wiring out of sight in my home. The service has proved reliable with some of my test results variable. I have no complaints. They are eager to improve or fix any issues I may find. Their price per month is less than Spectrum if you have average service requirements. The service is wireless to my house. I expect it will be working when Spectrum Internet dies during a local power outage. read more

No brainer for Internet. I run a 10 acre ranch in a rural location in Ojai. We spent a year looking for a viable solution to the cruddy AT&T DSL but there was nothing. Introduce Mitec. They installed their dish for line of sight microwave internet and since that day it has been old fashioned customer service and they deal with the rare occasional issue the next day. The speed is 5x what AT&T was ever able to offer and the AT&T dropped almost daily for no reason. They helped with the biggest headache we had on a multimillion dollar property and charge a very reasonable rate for stellar service. read more

I reached out to Mitec in September and they were great. At the end of my other review I said that I would definitely use their service again. Little did I know that within weeks I would!!! I called Mitec to see about replacing an existing laptop. They found out what my needs were, and suggested a new one to purchase. Their price was in line with other companies so I bought from Mitec. They ported over all my programs and files over and made suggestions if they had any concerns about future performance. They even provided a service where a tech delivered the computer to my house and made sure that I was comfortable using the new device, checked to make sure that my internet signal was strong enough and answered all of my questions until I felt completely at ease with the new computer.
