The last several years I have been living in South Orange County. I have tried various local computer stores, but never with any success. My only other options has been The Geek Squad at Best Buy, but they will never commit to what they will do/not do and always want to "upsell" me on services. Paul came over to see what happened and took the machine to his office to tackle the problem. Turns out the charging component was fine but the hard drive was damaged. Even worse, the drive was fully encrypted, requiring a 45 letter/digit security key to unlock. Paul was able to work around this barrier to unlock my data and transfer it to a memory stick.
