I've been to this Verizon location twice and have never received worse customer service in my life... they tried to scam me for over $500 on the value of my iPhone trade in by not honoring the promotional price from the purchase date. This girl Sequoyah was so snarky and rude and told me that she is unable to give customers printed receipts after taking my iPhone to their backroom without my consent. She told me I would get an email with the information after refusing to confirm the value of my trade in so I waited and never received an email. I had to get another associate to get me some sort of printed verification for my return and he came back with a receipt that was for $500 less than I was told I'd get credit for. Luckily he was helpful and corrected her mistakes and thankfully I didn't just listen to Sequoyah's dismissive remarks and walk out being scammed! Worst customer service ever. I went in in July when they were running the "Everyone gets a free phone"' promo to upgrade to 5g. Had to go back three times and spent several hours before we got the phones. Paid in full For one that didn't qualify for the upgrade and they are now billing me $11/ month for it plus $50/ month for the "free" phones. Tried to resolve it over the phone but after hours and multiple calls was told I had to go into the store. Did so twice and was told they had no idea how long I'd have to wait in line. Would give 0 stars if possible. My mom went in today to try and change account ownership over to herself after my dad passed away. Instead of any solutions she was given 0 sympathy and 0 solutions. The service was so unresponsive to her situation, even with my mom in tears pleading for some type of assistance instead of any type of resolution or leading her towards other options she gets a "Sorry ma'am we can't help you." From every clerk that was on shift around 1:30pm 12/27/22. A complete shame. I picked up a new IPhone from this store yesterday. I came in and after I was checked in they handed me a bag with a phone.. I asked how I was going to get the old phones data into the new phone, and were they going to do it. The sales person said " you just have to have the phones side by side and it will transfer" . I was skeptical of this and then was told if I wanted help, make an appointment. I tried the transfer at home and of course it failed. I spent an hour with support fixing this. Very unpleasant. After getting the phone working, I found out the email accounts don't transfer, they could have told me that. Spent another hour with support, they could not help. I got 2 accounts to work, but I finally gave up. If you are not a tech wizard, make the store transfer your phone, don't do like I did. read more

Updated Review: Went back in a couple hours later with said 'tude asking just for a charger and check-in guy was able to get/do something in the back and ring me up in a few minutes. I think they mislead customers on there pricing intentionally trying to make it look less than what your service really costs. I left them some years back and ended cancelling my other contract to go back to Verizon. Whenever I have a problem I make them hold up there end of the deal. So I have this friend that works at Best Buy, who tried and tried to convince me to come to her to upgrade my phone instead of going in to this Verizon store, but I was so stubborn. You always go to Verizon to upgrade your verizon phone, right? That's just how it works, I thought. Oh gosh, why didn't I listen? I go in there and tell them I want to upgrade, they say there is a wait, and I park myself in a corner and wait. 35 minutes (!!) later, a woman comes over to help me. She looks at my account and tells me that I am a week early. My upgrade isn't eligible for another 7 days. SEVEN DAYS! She kind of hems and haws and says I'll have to come back, and I just walk out kind of shocked. I wait, and come back a week later. Yet again I wait for nearly an hour. I acknowledge that it was a Saturday both times, so of course it was busy, but what on earth? They had three different greeters, who pretty much just walked around the whole time looking bored, but not enough sales people to manage all the customers. But I digress... When I am finally helped, I ask for the Droid Razr, which is free with a mail-in rebate, which they had last weekend but told me I was too early to upgrade... I am told that even though that phone is on the shelf in front of me, they're not carrying it anymore and I'll have to buy something else. I reluctantly agree to get the Droid Razr M for an extra $50. It takes about 30 minutes for my salesman to get the phone sold to me because he keeps trying to sell me all these accessories and stuff, but I resist. After 2 hours, I walk out with my new phone that cost me $180 ($100 for the phone, 50 of which I am supposed to get back in the mail, and $80 in tax). Later, I find out from the Verizon help-line that the first time I went in, they had the authority to give me my upgrade 7 days earlier, which would have given me the phone I wanted instead of having to get a more expensive one. As it turns out, Best Buy does INSTANT REBATES instead of mail-in rebates, so that kind of sucked to find out. Also, Best Buy is STILL (2 weeks later) carrying the phone that Verizon told me they don't carry anymore and I couldn't buy. THEN I find out that WalMart sells the same phone I spent $180 on for $34.99 with no tax. Yeah. Don't go in there. Just go to a third party retailer for your phone upgrades. I promise they can do everything Verizon can do, but it will cost a fraction of the price and take much less time. read more

Upon a friendly visit to the store, we were convinced to purchase useless items and were being "upsold" the entire time. I understand you are a for-profit business but wow. We said that we didn't need certain items and the salesperson said, "Don't worry. You are VIP's here. You won't pay for it" Then, after a 2 hour visit and waiting for 20 minutes so everything could get "activated", we got our bill and it was $700. What?? We ended up paying for the stuff that we were told were going to be "thrown in." At that point in the game, we were so frustrated and disappointed with the experience, we just paid it and got out of there. It just depends on the visit. Usually once you get a customer service rep, they are very kind and helpful but man does it take forever to get one! It's aggravating that there is a person whose sole job is to type your name on the waiting list. Then that person just stands there while you wait. I could type my own name in and this person could help me instead of standing there holding an iPad. Doesn't seem like a smart business move but ok. Waits are always SO long. As I said before, the representatives are great. A shout out to Dawn who tweaked some things to get us a free booster tower (normally $200-ish) because we don't get service at our house. It took her some finagling, but she was able to get it to us for only the cost of shipping. That's good service! I wish I could've tipped her! There also used to be a good guy there named Shawn but I'm not sure he is there anymore. Nothing but great things to say about Verizon, and the employees within the 20th st location. Over the weekend I decided to cut ties with AT&T early, and join a plan with my girlfriend. Verizon's "Switch to Verizon and get $300" promotion was simple and clear cut, and made the ETF's of axing AT&T easy. Dawn had helped my girlfriend and I for roughly 2 hours (1 hour past closing!), and couldn't have been a better experience. I had some additional pricing questions from coupons I found on RetailMeNot, and while she couldn't match them exactly, she made it well worth my time asking about them! So far I am impressed with what Verizon offers, after everyone and their brother around me says switch and you will be happy..etc..I never really had a gripe with AT&T, but to each their own I suppose. My sales person Cheryl placed my screen protector on my new iPhone and told me that if I ever had any issues with it to come in and that she would fix it............So I go back in three weeks later because its lifting up and she wouldn't even acknowledge me or the fact that she told me to come back and see her! This store fixed my issue! I could not receive text messages on my new iPhone and Verizon customer service told me that is was the sim card, even though the sim worked fine. After being bounced around by Verizon customer service and the Victra store, I went to this store tonight and a man named Deya not only figured out the complicated real problem, he fixed it and helped me transfer my info to my phone! So after reviewing the response from Verizon I made contact. The woman seemed incredibly helpful and told me my account would update with in the day. The only thing she managed to do was remove an iPhone 6 I never owned. Her only explanation was that sometimes they reactivate old devices to make a current plan of promotion work. She also told me if I set up automatic billing I would be paying 60 dollars less than Iam now which I did. To my surprise my bill did not go down it went up by $100.00 and is not 428. This increase is the result of predatory sales practices being used by Verizon. I say this because my mom trying was trying replace her iPad (listed on my acct) was sold a new one instead. This happened even though I have Verizon protect home $25.00 a month and verizon protect multi device $50.00 a month. Even paying 75.00 for the best protection offered the sales person instructed her to buy a new iPad and open a new line knowing she was fully covered and just had a copay to take care of. She should have sent this old woman who was confused and upset to Asurion or had her tech coach help her out. Instead she took advantage of her. My account is still messed up Verizon has still done nothing and it's been 25 days. I feel defeated by this organization. I have printed all my bills and mailed them along with pdf copies to the Bureau of Consumer protection. I seriously doubt it will help but at least this blatant negligence and willful disregard for ethical business practice will be documented. read more

I have had some very bad experience at this store. The employees would not help me and I had to wait for 20 minutes until someone finally came up and asked if I needed help. After I finally got help it took another hour till things finally got wrapped up and everything got fixed. My biggest complaint against Verizon is their unwillingness/inability to break down charges. All they want to do is tell you what the total will be. It has been a complete battle trying to fix the mistakes the sales person (Renee) did to us since Fathers Day. First, she changed our plan to the "more everything plan" even AFTER I told her I do not want to switch my plan. After talking with customer service, it would be an extra $20+ a month to keep the plan she changed us to. AND when she did it, my husband lost his Unlimited Data he was grandfathered into. Now weeks later, I get a letter in the mail that she added the protection plan, without me even knowing! I have wasted so much of my time having to fix what she did to us. So frustrating!! The best way to deal with Verizon is by not going the retail route. Want cheap voice minutes? Page Plus Cellular. Want BYOD? TracFone Verizon-compatible plans support all their 4G LTE devices. Same network coverage - without the overhead. If you have a grandfathered Verizon plan, you're possibly best off using online services or Best Buy - the direct stores may pressure you to give up some unlimited or special plans. Buying devices second-hand or new from the manufacturer (HTC, Motorola, and Nexus all sell Verizon-capable phones now that don't have Verizon strings attached) are a great way to go. I'm giving my local store five stars, in part because I found a way to work with Verizon - without working with this store. If you read between the lines, that's a fair way of sending my message across, I think. read more

I will try to make this review short but get my point accross. Ive been with verizon for 10 years. Love the reception I get and never cared to spend more for good signal over other companies. Never had any issues with customer service. This time was different. I had a samsung galaxy S5 that kept freezing, wouldnt send texts, dropped calls, extremely slow, battery die etc. my 2 year contract was up on 9/3/16 but I needed a new phone now as I use it for work and It was failing me. The date was 8/25/16 when I visited the mall location. Alex helped me the last time I was in there and was no help. This day I went in and basically said hey, this phone is terrible I would like to see my options on early upgrade or should I wait until my contract is up? I saw online on my profile that I was eligible for special promotions. to make a long story short, he said I would have to pay $390 today or $503 when my contract is up?? Seriously I knew something was wrong. he said there was nothing he could do and didnt seem to want to help I maintained my composure and just realized that alex was not about to help me out. I told him I wanted the iphone 6s plus and he basically told me to buy a different phone if i didnt want to spend so much. I said screw it..was so fed up I went to ATT and they said theyd pay my termination fee and give me the iphone for nearly free after rebate or something like that. Rather than make a sale, the gentleman at ATT said that clearly I was talking to the wrong person at Verizon. I walked back to verizon at the mall and asked how much my termiation fee was anyways. Alex didn't even feel like asking "is there anything i can do" or "whats this regarding"? He didnt care I took my chances and went to verizon on east ave and was immediately greet by eddie. I was already in a very very bad mood but within 5 minutes he changed that!! I didnt even mention my experience at the mall. Told him i was one week away from my contract end date and he said let me make a phone call. I heard him literally convincing the service rep with statements like "well hes been a customer for 10 years there has to be something you can do" he got off the phone and said "there you go!!" they said they can upgrade you today! I actually started laughing! this is when I told him what happened at the mall and he was shocked that alex did nothing. I paid 199 for the phone!! why did alex say 390? All in all if youre looking for a new phone dont go to the mall. go to the store on east ave. saves you hassle and money! cheers!! read more

Thoroughly unimpressed. I haven't been able to access my work e-mail for a while and took my I-phone that I purchased here in to get that corrected. First, the young woman that "helped" me insisted that the settings were all correct and that the problem must be my account name or password. After fiddling around some more, she admitted that they weren't the problem. Then she took the phone back for a tech to fiddle around for 20 minutes or more. When she finally returned, I noticed that they had changed the server name while they had it, so the settings must not have been "all correct." That didn't solve the problem, they passed the buck to my employer to solve, and we left with my I-phone unfixed. Great tech support, people! I really don't think they know what the hell they're doing, at least this employee, and she was rude to boot. read more

The manager of this store was rude, unprofessional and condensending. Im a new customer and received my first bill which was hundreds more than what was quoted when I signed up. I went into the store to discuss the charges and he was rude and explained to me that they do not have to disclose all charges and tell the customer everything. When signing contracts and making purchases like this..yes you do need to know exactly what you are being charged for and how much. I do not want to hear that it will take to much time. Piss poor attitude, piss poor customer service, piss poor treatment from this establishment. A formal complaint to the coperate office is in the works. read more
