It's not a Super Target, but that doesn't mean it's not a quality store to shop at. The inside is rather large and they have groceries, clothing, home décor, video games, a Starbucks, etc. I remember coming here when I was a child, and it smelled of popcorn at the entrance from the little food court that used to be there. Store is clean, bright and has everything you need for a successful grocery or shopping trip. Prices are reasonable. I normally come here for groceries. Service is mostly above average. Lately, we've [family members and I] been coming here for curbside pick-up, which is quick and painless. read more

I've had several bad interactions with various employees, they are either rude, ignore you, or follow you around (creepy!), but I will say this target has a way bigger selection than the ones I am used to, and it's typically organized pretty well. 50/50 on how your visit will go. read more

The Target in Chico is easily one of the most frustrating locations I've been to. I hadn't visited in years, but stopping by last week reminded me why. As one of the earlier Target stores in California, it definitely shows its age. The layout is chaotic, with no clear organization to where things are placed. The bathrooms are inconveniently tucked away in the back, and the healthcare section isn't even near beauty products, which makes no sense. It looks like they attempted a renovation at some point, but it seems like no thought went into planning the aisles properly. Instead of improving the shopping experience, the changes just made it more confusing. If you're used to the typical Target flow, this location will leave you wandering in frustration. read more

I had another great Target Drive-Up experience today. If there was anything good that came out of covid, it's Target Drive-Up! It seems like the employees at the Chico location are friendlier than the locations I used to frequent when I lived in the Sacramento area. In general, my orders are ready for pickup more quickly than originally estimated. On the flip side, I've had more frequent instances of items being out of stock after placing an order. Sadly, I would guess it's due to in-store theft which throws off inventory counts. That aside, I'm a loyal Target customer who appreciates the app + Drive-Up. The most unorganized and unfriendly Target I have ever been to. Visiting from out of town and needed a few things. Most of the fitting rooms were closed and/or being used for storage. Employees were cranky and rude when we asked about the availability of the fitting rooms. Also disappointed to find the shelves and racks messy and disheveled. Just did some late night shopping at this target. The store is clean but what really got me is th he customer service, which was 5 star. Kendra was her name. She helped me above and beyond my expectations. The store was out of a few high demand items but Kendra told me where I could find them even though it was not a sale for Target. I don't think it's very target behavior for her to be using profanity, joking about wanting to quit "her shit job" and on top rolling her eyes when I asked her to please watch her language as I was with a small child. I understand that target hires high school and college kids but you should first focus on them being good employees. She was being rude, clearly not working just gossiping with a friend who was visiting and was not helpful what so ever. Hopefully I don't ever see her again. I am visiting from out of town and needed a few things so stopped by this Target location. I understand they close at 10pm so was surprised and disappointed to find their fitting room closed at 8:45pm, so I Placed items back on the rack. Walked through the kids shoe aisles and shoes were thrown everywhere. Zero organization so I passed up on looking for shoes for my little ones. Found the makeup aisle to be no different. Long lines at checkout since self checkout was closed off. Definitely not a good experience. (Update: I was later informed the fitting rooms are never available and are used as storage.) read more

I was trying to get a refund for something I bought I bought recently. I waited in line for a while, while another worker was just standing behind the desk, not making any eye contact with me. A couple minutes later, the coworker went in the near by office room and I thought that she went to tell another worker that we were waiting. She did not do that at all. We had to wait for another worker to go ask other person to help us. I was just simply trying to put the money back into my new card that I had to get, and I was met with hostility and shortness. It was the worst customer service experience I've ever revived. Not even a second after she returned my money back to the WRONG card, she walked it it he office. In the beginning of 2012 this store changed from a standard target to a "pfresh store". That means it's not technically a super target but still carries fresh produce and a lot of groceries . A lot of people were frustrated with things moving around but it had to change in order to grow as a store. If you aren't sure where something is, every spill station ( next to the price scanners) displays a map of the store with a dot that shows you where you are currently located. If that doesn't help, team members are found in abundance that are more than happy to help you find what you're looking for. Don't be afraid to ask! read more

My complaint. And this is a complaint, is with the lack of aftercare and support offered by Target for the products they sell. I understand that some companies are in it for a quick buck. And don't believe that their goods, and I use that term loosely, are capable of lasting longer than a few days without breaking. But this little scheme shocked me completely. I purchased an Apple Pencil a week before Christmas to replace one which had broken, which was in turn, replacing another broken pencil. (Should've figured it out there). Once this new one also found it's demise, through very little use. Being only a couple weeks old. I was told that ANY OTHER electronic product. With the exception of Apples, was available for return. But Apple, on the other hand, had a two week shorter return period, then literally any other product in electronics. This is the largest electronics company in the nation that does not believe in their product enough, to allow customers to return items, at least as long as the most basic entry level item in Target. That's crazy. My issue with Target is that they allowed their return policy to be changed and dictated to them in their own store, so that they offered a lower level of customer service than they did for any other brand. The follow up complaint, is that upon calling target, I was told by one of their highly trained and motivated staff that answerd the phone (after a half hour of calling) of course I could exchange my defective product no problem. Yet when I arrived at the store, the veteran customer service associate informed me that they had, and I quote "children working back there who have no idea what they're talking about." Great job target. Stellar Christmas experience. I will never shop there again since it is apparently staffed by children. And they carry products they don't believe in. Why would I. read more

I love Target, but this one has the longest lines ever. Seems as though they only have two to three lines open any time I go. Target is the holy grail of all stores! And while this may not be the nicest Target I've ever been in, it does the job! TLDR: fairly clean & organized, avoid during back-to-school and the week of Christmas. Now, I use to live in NYC and I had two options for Target -- take the D train in Chinatown to the Barclay's center in Brooklyn (20 minute subway ride) to a small outlet mall where Target lie or take a bunch of other trains for an hour or so to get to the Upper East Side Target. Welp, I couldn't dedicate such a long voyage, so I always went to the Brooklyn one. Now that place was a shitshow -- literally, someone had an accident during one of my visits. So Chico's Target is like Nordstrom in comparison. It's usually fairly organized and clean-ish, unless the college kids have amassed and done all their yearly shopping, or if it's a major holiday (I.e. Christmas). Staff is fairly friendly, the Starbucks is a nice touch although I have had ridiculous wait times for it, & plenty of parking. Thank you Target for being there, you really get me. read more

Pretty good. Their employees are usually very nice and super helpful-except when you can't find anyone for help in the aisles. Prices are usually higher than Walmart, unless it's on sale. Food items more expensive like smaller chain stores. They have a new system and a lot of the cashiers don't understand how to work that system correctly when it comes to gift cards, sales, etc. You will have to double check your receipt often. New system is more confusing. Sometimes they don't restock things, and are limited in the amount they carry. Especially with some types of formula and diapers. Toys too are another one that you would do better to buy online. Their jeans are an awkward fit, and much of their clothing are low quality or awkward looking. Baby clothing are a little limited, especially shoes. Kid shoes are very expensive and low quality or uncomfortable. The store is usually very clean and organized which is a huge plus. Always able to find parking. Returns are AMAZING, and easy peasy. 5% off entire purchase everyday if you use your Red Card (debit) is a money saving benefit! Usually a great experience and friendly staff. However, my husband and I went in the other day to look at Nest cameras and thermostats. Store was fairly empty and we were the only ones in the electronics section. We spend a good bit of time reviewing the Nest, as there are several to choose from. Not once were we approached by the THREE employees standing only 10ft away at the electronics bay. They were much too busy chatting amongst themselves to be bothered to do their job. We looked at Nests for at least ten minutes and no one even looked our direction. When we were ready to check out in the electronics bay, our cashier (named Holly) was very rude and was still engaged in her conversation with coworkers while checking us out. We had quite a few gift cards and coupons to use - meaning we ended up paying $19 out of pocket for our $200 Nest. When Holly realized this, she called her friend "Juan" over and proceeded to imply that we were shifty and trying to "cheat the system" (those words literally left Juan's mouth). No surprise, Juan was also one of the lazy employees who did not offer any customer service while we browsed the Nests. I've never felt so uncomfortable at Target. Appalled that they allow their employees to display such poor customer service, and that this type of behavior is clearly not noticed or reprimanded. It's a shame because we have not had a poor experience until Holly and Juan were so rude to us. read more

My wife and I were in your store today at approximately 10:45. We used the self serve check out. As I was scanning our items, a lady with a dog used the register next to us. As we were leaving we encountered an employee who was "playing" with a dog while engaged in conversation with two customers. Neither of the dogs were guide/comfort dogs. I forgot some things back in Sacramento and Target was the safest place for me that was very familiar. It is the same like many of the Targets I know in Sacramento. The workers are friendly.
