I love this store, esp this location. Ample parking and the staff is always really nice and helpful. I stop by here about once a month bc it's close to Costco so I usually hit this spot up right before my monthly Costco visit. They have really fun seasonal treats to eat and also seasonal items to decorate with. I really love their furniture and candles, too. They have great gift items and good coffee and tea selections. I used to live in Europe and I appreciate their European food treats. I got a bunch of honey fr Germany this last visit. It was well priced and pretty delicious! Went in to buy candles. Got candles from the bottom shelf . At checkout Maya told us they were not discounted but agreed that the advertisement is misleading and advised that the bottom shelf was overstock. She asked her manager Sara to assist in making this right. Sara declined and stated no discount and that it was not misleading as the bottom shelf had no clearance sign on it. What's not to love about this store? The selection is like no other store around, from boho chic furniture to world wide food/candies/wines and beer. It's definitely my favorite store to make personalized gift baskets. I love that I can make my own and create a super special one of a kind basket depending on who it's for. The soap and candle selection has the BEST smelling goodies for the bathroom/kitchen and the kids section has the funnest little gag gifties perfect to throw in the gift basket or use as stocking stuffers. They sell the coolest wall art and regularly switch out the selection featuring different artists work. Love that! I'm all about muted colors with home decor & World Market is just my kind of playground. Whether your looking for areas rugs, kitschy gifts, wall art, lighting, interesting chachki from around the globe, or furniture, this store has it all. I especially enjoyed speaking with the manager (female, I forgot her name), she let me in on some discount secrets, what a doll!! She was also super helpful in helping me decide on a piece of furniture I needed. In all my years, I have never had a single rude or frustrating experience with any of the employees here. Some of them are in fact downright fantastic and my day is better having just interacted with them because they are so friggin' outgoing and adorable. The only real negative aspects I have encountered seem to come from above. For example, no site-to-store shipping or transfer between the different stores. They were having a buy one, get one free sale on a pillow I'd secretly wanted for months, but I could not bring myself to spend $25 on it because, well, cow print. Apparently I was not the only one that could not justify the expense until it became half-off as it was the only sold out style among their plethora of pillows. I scoured the store until I found one hidden and lovingly cradled it as I went to check out, hoping perhaps they could just do it at 50% off instead. They unfortunately came back with a no, but that they could do a rain check. No other pillow there captured my heart the same way, so I told them I preferred that route to picking out a lesser pillow. A while later I got a call letting me know that it was going to be a while until they got more in -- almost three months -- so I could come pick something else out. I told them I was fine continuing to wait because by the time it came in, I would have forgotten and it'd be like Christmas again. When February finally rolled around, I got a call letting me know the pillow had arrived, and I could come pick it up. I went in to get it which went without a hitch and since they have an abundance of tasty snacks, I got some of those, too. Not gonna lie, I especially love when they release the $10 off $30 or more coupon and I have a $10 reward certificate from their Explorer program because they do stack. Do this around, say, Christmas with their clearance candy and oh my god, you are set for weeks (or days depending on your household). Seriously, sign up for their program -- it's free and you get really good coupons on a fairly frequent basis. All-in-all, I will miss you, Chico Cost Plus World Market. I am moving away this week and you have been an enjoyable part of my time here. If the policy ever changes from no go at all to having free site-to-store or store-to-store, you will be an overall five-star store. At the very least, your employees always have been to me. :) read more

Always a fun place to shop for everybody. Tons of awesome home decor and unique food. I was able to knock out a majority of my Christmas shopping here, there really is such a variety of stuff. Favorite finds: dried cantaloupe, tropical tea, holiday poppers, fun drawer knobs, awesome gift bags, stackable mugs, and a beer sampler from around the world-called "the best gift ever!" by my newly 21 year old friend. Some prices are amazing, and some prices are "you've GOT to be kidding!!". If you sign up for their emails you do get great coupons from time to time. The staff here sucks though. They always seem really rude and rarely address you, even while checking out-they just continue on chatting with their coworker in the next check stand. But I had a manager help me with something before and he was super nice at least. read more

I am not sure where my last bad review of this place went, but they seem to delete if they don't like. I hate the Chico location. Once they had great managers and employees. Now they have rejects from the looney tune farm. After a very bad situation around November, I chose not to shop there again. My daughter who use to LOVE this place wanted to go the day after Christmas. I begrugingly walked in. There were several people waiting to go inside. We all headed to the Christmas aisles. When we all noticed that there were no signs about discounts we asked the employe (tall, brown haired, RUDE AS F guy) if the Christmas was clearance. He said, "NOPE" and walked off. Someone asked if he knew when it would be. Again, "NOPE" and walked another direction. I asked if he could get his manager so we could ask them. He RUDELY replied that he was the manager and stormed off! My daughter then told him as we were leaving that he lost a loyal shopper and that his rude attitude was not becoming of a manager. We walked out, followed by the other 8 shoppers who had been waiting with us! My daughter went on line to find ALL Christmas was on clearance. She bought what she went into the store for and had it delivered to the store. When she went to pick it up, she was told that all Christmas had been on clearance the day before when we were there! My daughter told the cashier what happened and the cashier looked at my daughter and said, oh well, if I think of it, I will tell the manager. WOW, WOW, WOW. What absolutely revolting behavior of managers and employees. Sadly, corporate is just as bad and never responded to my complaint from November! read more

I have been to this world market so many times , I honestly can't leave this place without buying something but I never regret it !!, but this recent visit was different in a good way. The employees Katie, Matt, and Isabella made it the best experience I had ever had. Isabella, the cashier welcomes me with a warm smile and a overall pleasantness of shopping in the store. Katie offered some of the best customer service I have ever had. She bantered with me and my friend and made the experience overall enjoyable and made me feel more welcomed of shopping in the store. I ended up buying this awesome chair but it was quite big for my car. Matt reassured me that we would make it fit and proceeded to assist me and my friend to get it the car so that transport was not only safe but no damage to the chair would happen. My husband and I used to shop at this store frequently. We spent a great deal of money in this store. However, over the past six months or so, it has really gone downhill. After complaining a month ago about poor customer service, we finally went back today...again, bad customer service. Last month when we were there, we were looking for Cupcake brand Red Velvet wine. We have purchased it there for years. Every time we ask for help in the store over the past six months, even when there are no other customers in the store, employees there just point and tell us to "go look" in whatever direction they are pointing, and then when we can't find it, they act soooooooo put out to have to actually help us. With the Red Velvet wine incident a female employee told a young male employee to help us find the wine. He went back to the wine department and asked us "Do you care what flavor it is?" Helllooooo, Red Velvet, not chardonnay, merlot, etc. He says, "Oh, we NEVER carried Red Velvet." Really? We purchased it here for years. He just walks away. When we went in today, there were only two or three customers in the store. We were second in line, but another employee took us to another check stand to supposedly be waited on faster. However, the check stand that we had been in previously had gone through a couple of customers (we would have been out of there by this point), and the checker in the first check stand was having an issue with a young man trying to use his girlfriend's debit card. So our checker pages the girlfriend, turns her back on us, and she and the other checker just stand there, looking off into space waiting for the girlfriend to show up. When my husband got fed up with being ignored and said "See ya," she briefly turns around and says "Sorry, guys" and lets us walk out. And if you dare think about using the women's restroom, think again. It is so filthy gross, the floor looks like it's covered with mud! read more

I have always enjoyed shopping at the Chico World Market, and find their employees to be both friendly and helpful. I was especially impressed this last week -- I was 5 days out from our daughter's wedding, we made a design change on table decor, and I needed to make a last minute exchange on a large amount of table linens, which was somewhat complicated. The Manager, Frank, went the extra mile to assist us through the process, as tedious as it was, and all with a smile on his face!!!
