I trade at TJ Maxx constantly and needed to exchange the baby outfit I got for a gift for the right size. Walking in with the item in the bag, I informed the girl at the last check stand my intentions. She said I needed to get in line. I said, "No, I am going to get the correct size and then get in line". At least the girl that walked up said, " Yes, sure. That makes sense". So that is what I did, finding 2 more things to buy before I got to the register. The poor girl could not even do an exchange. She had to call someone to help her. The item had been marked down from 2 days ago. I DIDN'T CARE! It was an even exchange. Pull your head out and use some common sense! The really wonderful part? They wanted to scan my driver's license! FOR WHAT? Because they needed to prove that I wasn't someone trying to scam them. Say, what? I am very happy to take my business to Kohl's or Ross. I spent over $200 in the store in the last few days but I will betcha that Kohl's won't have a problem taking it. Poor little girls ( the check out girl needed help and called someone else), common sense has not invaded their minds. They are happy to just follow corporate policies that don't make sense. No idea about invasion of privacy or corporate having too much information and big brother mentality. These girls are the future of the world, going along to get along. Too bad Maxx. I moved to Chico around seven years ago, and TJ Maxx has always held a special place in my heart. My family and I frequently come here for tiny Knick Knacks, and we usually find something we like. They range from cosmetic products to clothing and other varied items and are all excellent. Sometimes I come across wonderful brands with purses, makeup, shoes, and clothing at reasonable prices. The staff is usually really nice, friendly, and helpful. If you're looking for gifts for loved ones, I highly recommend this place. I'll always return for a visit. read more

I greatly appreciated the disinfecting of the carts upon the entrance, the staff with masks on and the fact that they only allow 123 people at once..BUT most of the customers weren't wearing mask and it made me so uncomfortable I quickly left and will not return for a very long time! Why can't management require all customers wear mask? Right now it's the only protection we have against this virus! Shopping at Costco and Trader joe's in the future! read more

I never knew I'd find some great things in here! I initially came here with my friend and his grandma to shop around. You could definitely find discounted things here such as shirts, jackets, underwear, socks, and even mobile accessories. I bought my school's jacket here (Stanford) for more than 50% off its original price as well as Polo undershirts. 4 for $12.99 which was originally over $20! Is it me, or does the men's section get smaller every time I go here? Women's area is HUGE. Men's area is down to 5 or 6 racks and the clothing isn't much of a deal compared to other stores. While this is a great store for so many wonderful things I just wanted to let customers know that the security in the store is lacking. Yesterday, 12/16/14 my wallet was stolen by a very polished team while I browsed in the beauty dept. Reported it to the "person in charge", Natalie, and she informed me they do not have any security and that there was nothing they could do. She finally said that if they had time that a supervisor, that is off site, may be able to review the surveillance photo later. At my request she wrote down my name and number on a post-it note and said she would call if anything showed up. So, buyer beware!! Let me tell you about their bathroom. I usually do NOT use public restrooms BUT sometimes you just have to go! They had 3 bathroom stalls. Someone was in the first stall. So it was a toss up between the 2nd and 3rd stall. I had to put 10 of the toilet seat covers around the seat before I could sit on it!! It was filthy. Not dirty or a little used. FILTHY! When I came out of the restroom I saw a TJ Maxx Employee and I told her about the restroom. She looked at me like I was STUPID or maybe that's the way she looks at everyone! It was like her eyes were open BUT she was NOT home. Then when I was going to check out at the front of the store I told the girl up there. I also got the same look! I will never shop Chico TJ Maxx again. I hope someone in Upper Management would go under cover and check out this store's Employee's Attitudes and see for themselves how filthy they keep their stores bathrooms. read more
