    Filthy Bathroom at Ross in Chico

    I've shopped here for years. This store has really gone downhill. It's even worse now with COVID going on. There are clothes all over the floor. Two people checking. Finally they send two more up. They want social distancing, but force people to wait in line for a while. They monitor their bathrooms supposedly due to COVID. I asked to use the restroom and when told I would have to wait for two people ahead of me, I simply said no thanks (as I really needed to leave and go somewhere). The man was rude to me. As we waited in line for a while, I got desperate and asked the guy at the security for help, as I didn't want to ask Mr. Rude Guy. The security guy was really nice and he offered to call someone for me. After waiting a while at the back of the store, a young lady came up to the door and said she needed to first check the bathroom to make sure someone else wasn't in there. I stood there and after she looked at me like I was stupid, I realized she wanted me to move (I guess 6 ft?). She could have simply said this, as the 6 ft rule wasn't being followed anywhere else in the store either by customers or employees. The lady came back and said okay and let me in. Apparently her inspection allowed her to determine no one else was in the store, however it did not allow her to determine the bathroom was filthy and in great need of a good cleaning and sanitizing. Seriously, I haven't seen it dirty like this before. They are picky about how many use the bathroom at one time, but can't keep them clean. Businesses are using the COVID thing to discourage people from using their bathrooms. They are going to end up loosing what little business they have. I really hope this was just an off day for them and it returns to normal.

    Terrible customer service. Too forever to get anyone's attention. The lines were outrageous. And the store was a mess.

    I do not like the Ross we have here in Chico. I would prefer the one in Sacramento or Roseville. This one is just very messy.

Walking in with the item in the bag, I informed the girl at the last check stand my intentions. She said I needed to get in line. I said, "No, I am going to get the correct size and then get in line". At least the girl that walked up said, " Yes, sure. That makes sense". So that is what I did, finding 2 more things to buy before I got to the register. The poor girl could not even do an exchange. She had to call someone to help her. The item had been marked down from 2 days ago. I DIDN'T CARE! It was an even exchange. Pull your head out and use some common sense! The really wonderful part? They wanted to scan my driver's license! FOR WHAT? Because they needed to prove that I wasn't someone trying to scam them. Say, what? I am very happy to take my business to Kohl's or Ross. I spent over $200 in the store in the last few days but I will betcha that Kohl's won't have a problem taking it. Poor little girls ( the check out girl needed help and called someone else), common sense has not invaded their minds. They are happy to just follow corporate policies that don't make sense. No idea about invasion of privacy or corporate having too much information and big brother mentality. These girls are the future of the world, going along to get along. Too bad Maxx. You just lost a good customer.

    Tia was very helpful when we spent over $28,000 on furniture but they sold us a warranty that…read moredoesn't work:-(. Family run, very expensive store with beautiful items. I am very disappointed that I cannot repair furniture that was way over priced even though they sold us a warranty:-(. I also had a $300 credit for pillows I returned that seemed to disappear. Overall, I would like these issues resolved but they haven't been able to do it which led me to 2 stars. For an upscale furniture store, I would expect that they could resolve these issues. No we didn't "yell at the service man". He actually told us that why we wrote in the claim is not what he was coming to take a picture of. All of my children were present when he was there and he just kept telling my son..."things are going to get weirder?" Not sure what he was referring to. There is no reason why the furniture shouldn't be replaced. Yes, my ex husband left fish tanks on pieces that were ruined and beer bottles which caused water damage. All of those things were to be covered in your policy. Like I said, Ana and Tia were lovely to work with but the furniture we would still like repaired as it's under a warranty you sold us. I can share with you the entire conversation with the repair man as we recorded it. He was very strange and we still stayed respectful. In no way would we ever yell at a repair man. We had damage to the cushion on the couch and he said he was there to take a picture of the back of it! Lucky for us Guardsman paid it in full. Regarding the $300 credit, my daughter was excited to buy something for her room and it disappeared! One week they said it was there as we returned pillows and the next week it was gone. Nothing was purchase with the $300 but again we don't want to argue. It would be nice if you repaired the furniture as you seemed to do before my husband moved out but after I left him, nothing got fixed. Oh well, you are the owner and you have the right to run things as you wish. Have a lovely rest of your weekend!!!
