After a fall I took on 12.26.17, my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch late 2013 model) had a cracked screen that caused it to become unresponsive. The UC Davis on campus apple store quoted the repair (replacement of the screen) at $575 + tax and had a wait time of 1-2 weeks. I sent an email to the Beetstech team for information after finding their store online, and Wes Keener (the repair specialist) replied in 1-2 days letting me know that I could both :: 1. Purchase a replacement screen in store - which was good because I was hesitant of making a purchase (IIRC the price for purchasing the screen alone was approx. $310) without first verifying the quality of this screens sold by store 2. Pay a flat installation fee ($15) that comes with their guaranteed product warranty I emailed them a date/time to schedule the repair (they were available the next day) and drove to Chico from Davis. I came to the appointment about an hour late, but Wes was still so kind to offer a seat while they set up for repair. What was impressive is that their store's work station are open so that you can see them diligently working (a detail I appreciated so much because it just shows so well their expertise). Wes and the staff again were so friendly that I felt at home while the repair took place. The final quoted price was in the $310-325 range, which was more than a fair price for the service. In quick summary :: I admire this store a lot for their diligent work at a fair cost. It was like finding a perfect car repair shop. I brought my MacBook to Apple because I was having issues booting it. They took it and told me I simply needed a new SSD and would be good to go. I went to a trusted third party to buy one and popped it in, but it didn't work. Frustrated, I started looking for other places that could take it in and diagnose the problem. I stumbled upon Beetstech somehow, so I took a gamble and setup a ticket to send in my computer and have it diagnosed. One of the repair techs was emailing me throughout the whole process over the course of a few days while we discussed what was going on. Turns out there was minimal water damage that Apple didn't notice. They cleaned that up for me and tested it out with one of their SSD's to make sure it all worked, then sent it back to me. It was about a week between sending out my MacBook and having it back fully repaired. The entire time I was bragging to my friends about how awesome this company was, and how knowledgeable and friendly technicians were. I'm normally pretty skeptical about third party repair shops, but I figured my MacBook wasn't working and Apple cost too much to repair anything, so I might as well. They were a total lifesaver. For the value and efficiency of their work, they really deserve more attention. If any other problems come up, I definitely plan on going to them first. read more

Beetstech is a "hidden gem"..."a diamond in the rough". My $3500 MacBook Pro Retina just quit working one day. A trip to a couple of local Apple repair stores resulted in advice that I would need to pay almost $1200 for a new logic board. That was a tough pill to swallow. I did some research online and came across a small company that was different than most other Apple repair shops. They didn't just swap components (after all the mainboard is EXPENSIVE to just swap). They actually diagnose and repair the mainboard. For a $55 diagnostic fee I decided to take my chances. I must say it was a very wise decision. They found that some water damage caused a short on the mainboard and it was reparable! (I still to this day don't know who spilled that water on my MacBook!) The cost of this repair was only $295! When I received my MacBook it was working like new. I was so thrilled. The technicians at beetstech worked magic on my MacBook (Thanks Wes and Hayden!). They saved me a ton of money. Had a problem with my 2016 MacBook Pro (low, distorted audio coming from headphone jack) and I brought it to multiple local repair shops. Most didn't want to attempt to fix it. But one awesome, local repair tech changed out the headphone jack but that didn't resolve the problem. He then told me about Beetstech. I contacted Beetstech and they were quick to respond and ready to take on the repair job. I shipped the computer out to California, where Wes Keener took it in. Even though the issue the computer was experiencing was very rare, they diagnosed the problem, ordered the part, did the repair, tested to make sure it was in good shape, and shipped it back. It took a little longer than they had hoped because they had to track down a part and get it shipped to their shop from Hong King. Wes kept me informed via email of everything they were doing. I am so happy that I just had to write a quick review. I just got my MacBook Pro back from this company. I was leery about sending my laptop in the mail and possibly being told that I should just buy a new one. That is what happened when I brought it in to a place here in Sac, but to my surprise they fixed my laptop and it didn't cost an arm and a leg. I wasn't told I needed a new laptop! I talked with a guy named Hayden who was super nice and didn't talk down to me (because I am not tech savvy). Not only did they repair my laptop, they cleaned it too! I never asked for that. Foolish me thought I could replace the battery on my Macbook Air by myself with a kit from Amazon, but after removing half the screws, I got stuck and panicked. I called all of the repair shops in the area asking them to simply install the battery for me, but they wanted to charge me $80 and up!! Beetstech charged me an extremely REASONABLE price of $30 for the labor and had it done right away! My computer is running beautifully with the new battery. Found these guys while searching for options on my dead 2011 MBP. After opening a ticket, and a few email conversations, it was clear they could replace my logic board, with a newer year that didn't have the original defects. Once they received my laptop I received regular updates on progress, test results of the logic board , and estimated time remaining. After 2 days the work was done, and it was shipped back to me promptly. Very good experience with Beetstech, saved me from buying a new MBP for $2200, repairing this one for a fraction of that cost. As good as it gets. These guys are awesome. Took my iMac in as it wouldn't start up.
