My family has purchased phones and plans at this corporate owned store for over ten years. Obviously we have been very satisfied with the service, until today. Upon entering the store I was told that it was at capacity and I should wait outside until I received a text when it was my turn to enter. Fine. I didn't have a problem with that. It was easy. However I had the unfortunate luck of being assigned to a saleswoman who may have been having a bad day. She was indifferent/borderline hostile, impatiently drumming her fingers on the podium when I sat across from her. The encounter went downhill from there when she didn't seem to know (or want to bother sharing) anything about the iPhones I was looking at. She also said that Verizon corporate won't allow their stores to transfer data from the old phone to the new one due to Covid. That's not her fault, but I'm thinking to myself, "what's the point of buying here?! Bad sales experience and zero customer service???" That was my cue get out of there. Meanwhile the manager was yukking it up with the security guard and a couple of the other salespeople. He did notice I was leaving and managed to "thank" me for stopping by. When I got home I made some calls and will be upgrading (purchasing) my new iPhone 12 at a franchise in a nearby suburb tomorrow. Oh, and THEY still offer customer service. read more

Walked in needed help with my damaged phone and the person did not great me or get out of her chair. I asked her for some help and it was like I was disturbing her peace. All she said was to log in to my Verizon app and follow the steps, so I did and walked out, it was a big waist of time. I will never walk into another Verizon again. read more

I've come to this place two years ago when I first switched over to the Verizon and I never did a review then, but I recently upgraded myself and I added a few lines to my account. Each time I've gone they are extremely helpful, I am usually not in there for too long I guess because I go in knowing what I want I am pleased I have a tenured associate who knows what they are doing. My plan with verizon is the wrose plan i have because i have lots of drop calls and some times i only get the voicemail because the calls never register and i call verizon and they told me that when i signed the plan in the small letter said that i was not ganna get service everywhere and that there was nothing they can help me with. Had a really great experience here. I was in and out with a new phone & new plan in less than 30 minutes. Number transfer from another company and all. I can't remember the guy who helped us name but he wasn't pushy with accessories at all (I've had that happen to me one too many times). He made the experience smooth. No complaints here. I got an iPhone 5 woooo hoooo!!!! As for the phone service I have had every company except for Cricket, and I will say verizon is the fastest and best. Some say it's a little over priced but I beg to differ. You get what you pay for folks. I rely on my phone way too much to pay a lot else where for crappy service. I stopped in at the Verizon store at 6451 W Diversity Ave. to ask about deleting 5,000+ Emails on my Hotmail acct. Kathleen and Mikki were very friendly and helpful in resolving my problem. Mikki introduced me to the new iPhone6+. I then decided to go ahead and get one from her. The entire experience was an enjoyable one. Then, today, the fourth of June I went to the store again at 10 AM to ask some questions about my new phone. Bolek promptly helped me setup some banking apps. and volunteered to help me with anything further I needed with my phone. Bolek showed me a cover for my iPad, and I purchased it from him. This was probably the best Verizon experience I've had. My girlfriend and I went there to combine our plans and I always anticipate having to battle idiots both in front and behind the counter when visiting Verizon. This place was a pleasant surprise as all employees were very upbeat and our rep (Sonya) was great. We went mid-morning on Sunday so perhaps people were at church but I will forego the afterlife if it means sidestepping a mongoloid landmine. read more

Switched over to Verizon last year with Octavio, best decision I have made in a long time. Octavio is knowledgeable, professional and attentive. Monday I was having issues with my iPhone, contacted Apple but they wouldn't have been able to help until Friday. I have been a Verizon Customer since 1998 & I have never had the in store experience that I've had anywhere else. Thanks to Adrian (Solution Specialist) at this store location I've received an individual experience every time I enter the store. He is very hands on & makes me comfortable with stopping by the store anytime if needing any further assistance with my cell phone, Drone, smart watch ecetera. I usually go to this Verizon location and the staff is always helpful. However, in October of 2014 I witnessed what I believe was the store manager talk down and very rudely to some of her employees. She was very disrespectful and she even made one of the really good employees cry. She always has a good attitude with customers but it never feels genuine and after seeing the way she talked down to her employees my hunch was correct.....She's not so nice after all read more

The manager is rude as ever, the rest of the workers I talked to were very kind. After spending 40 minutes in the store, Ended up not even being Able to replace my car charger that barely works because she couldn't pull up a receipt from a few months ago. I took my charger and went to the Norridge location and within a few minutes he was able to pull up my receipt from a few months back and replace the charger. I don't know if she was just being lazy and not wanting to actually look for the records, but the worker at the Norridge location found it without an issue. I usually go to Norridge but was closer to this location at the moment, moral of the story is to stick to my usual location. read more

i have a Note 5 that was having "issues" since day 1. No store, no customer service rep on the phone, no chat was able to fix the problem.....until....I went to the Brickyard store managed by Derick Wojciechowski. He and his staff are A+ top notch. Jorge Castaneda, the Solutions Specialist, solved my problem in probably less than 5 minutes! Needless to say, this is the ONLY Verizon store I will go to. I was switching 4 lines over from ATT and decided to try this location after walking out of the store at 4265 N Harlem Ave in Norridge because of obnoxious customer service (see review for that location for details!). As a UIUC employee my incentives include waived activation fees as well as 20% off on the data plan. In addition, Verizon was offering $300 credit for any old Smartphone. From the get-go the customer service experience at the Brickyard location was terrific! Solution Specialist Gloria made the experience wonderful! We worked with her for over an hour to compose our plan, select our phones, activate them, and deactivate the trade-ins. She was very friendly, transparent with all information, and an overall pleasure to work with - including offering us bottled water throughout the process We got all of the expected incentives and credit for ALL of the old Smartphones (even though one had a minor crack on the back). I really appreciate that Gloria DIDN'T shove accessories down our throats during the process. We ended up buying phone cases and screen protectors for all four phones as well as insurance - items which Gloria helped us with but wasn't forcefully trying to get us to buy... which I really appreciate! Don't let the bad "google" reviews scare you away from this store! I had a very pleasant experience upgrading my phone. Jorge Castandeda, my "solutions specialist" was very knowledgeable, professional and really did a fantastic job helping my through the process. He explained information very clearly, offered many options that I was eligible for, however was not too pushy-which I appreciated! He helped pick out the best accessories for me and was honest in his opinions about what would work best for me! The rest of the staff in the store were friendly and very approachable! Not all stores are this stellar in performance, so if you want top notch service, try the Brickyard location! This place sucks. I was having trouble with my smart phone so the store manager requested a new one for me. Once I received the new phone it was damaged as well so I called to explain my situation and they said there was not much they can do for me besides order another one...but get this...tomorrow I will have two damaged phones and hopefully one that works but am responsible for all three of them and if for any reason the defective ones get damage I'M RESPONSIBLE TO PAY FULL RETAIL PRICE FOR THEM!!!HA! All I want is a phone that works. The store manager said that if out of 365 days I have a damaged phone they are more than happy to keep requesting me a new one or I have the option of PAYING FULL PRICE for a new phone. I had to place this review on Yelp because of such great service my love and I were provided. I created them on Yelp since they were not yet listed. My love damaged his phone and decided to switch from T-Mobile to my Verizon wireless carrier. We arrived at this location and we're immediately greeted by Jacqueline Gomez, a Solution Specialist. Jacqueline did a great job answering all our questions regarding adding a line and which plan cost what. She was able to answer all our questions and help us get the best plan for us. I'm a 10+yr Verizon customer. Although Verizon has great service at any location I've been to Jacqueline was by far the best. Not only did she help answer all questions, but she was very polite, helped us retrieve account info from Tmobile, got my loves phone activated and cleaned the case he purchased woth his phone very well. She also took the time to help get our rebate documents in order. Cut the UPC from the box, provided the envelope, copy of receipt and wrote the address. We only had to place a stamp on it!! I used to have to do this all myself whenever we got a phone. She was great!! Once all was done, she bagged the phone box and suggested we get the case registered ASAP. I had a very bad experience with verizon customer service on the phone, however on a busy friday night while I was trying to upgrade my phone. My account had a computer issue which was preventing me from upgrading. While sitting in the store with Verizon Customer Care the sales rep Adrian Wegan waited patiently and helped speed up the process as long as he possibly could. I waited over the phone with Verizon customer care for over 2.5 hours and during this process Adrian waited with me. He also help to keep my 7 year old keep busy. The crap I went through over the phone with verizon customer care was absolute HELL on a friday but Adrian Wegan you are honestly one of the best things verizon has to offer. if you stop at this store ask for him he will go above and beyond the call of duty. Buyer Beware !! They use very deceiving sales techniques, just to boost there sales. I went in to renew my contract becus I was eligible for an upgrade. Gloria the sales rep advised me it would be cheaper if I signed up for the Edge Program that I also qualified for on one of my 3 lines and that was only $190. She also mentioned that I would receive a bundle that consisted of a car charger, case, screen protector and Bose wireless speaker. Well I was happy to receive this "free" bundle just for signing up on the Edge program. We did the transaction she handed me the ipad to sign. We never received a paper receipt nor were we offered one. Not till the next day when I was able to go online to view my receipt . I noticed I was charged for the bundle. I called Gloria and asked her if I was charged for the bundle she said YES. I asked her then I had the option to purchase or not purchase she said YES. I asked her why did she lie and say that The Edge Program would be $190 and the bundle was FREE. Her response was she never used the word FREE. I was able to return the bundle and get a complete refund and went in the next day and spoke to "Kat" the manager she did the credit transaction but I believe they are all aware of the shady sales tactic's they use either they are trained that way by the managers or maybe even Verizon corp. The manger also does not care about customer service she also said Gloria never used the word Free. I tried to explain but she didn't care. She peeled off the screen protector from the phone and threw it in the garbage instead of leaving it on. That showed us they did not care that we were unhappy customers. You would think she would offer the screen protector at a discount or leave it on. It was a very bad experience. I am contemplating switching carriers even thou it would be a major hassle. I haven't decided yet. I do hope never to have to step foot into that SHADY store again. BAD BUSINESS !! read more

Mikki was amazing! I walked in knowing the phone I wanted and knew I had an upgrade. I had a limited time as I was on my lunch break, but she wasn't aware. She went to check and make sure they had the phone I wanted. Told me the price difference between the sizes. Then looked up my account and found a way to lower my monthly cost, increase my data, and even backdated my upgrade so I didn't receive any prorated charges. Then she evaluated my old phone and was able to get me over $300 for it. She put as much as the system allowed her on my bill, and told me I could use the rest in the store. I got a pair of wireless Beats headphones that she used my leftover credit on and even applied a discount on top. I also picked up a case and a glass screen protector, which she applied for me perfectly. I walked out with an iphone 6s, beats headphones, a case, screen protector, and car charger at $0 cost to me. The amount she saved me on my monthly bill absorbed the cost of the phone over monthly payments with no interest. I couldn't have been happier! And I was in and out in around 20 minutes on top of that! read more
