Pasta with broccoli rabe and sausage
    Clarissa J.

Our favorite meal in Savannah! We did not expect to find an amazing Italian meal coming from NY in the south but every bite was better than the last. My hubby and I shared everything and I don't even know what I liked most. The focaccia was a must order and I enjoyed the 3 dips that accompanied it especially the ricotta. The burrata salad was the most fresh and flavorful salad- each ingredient worked so well together- I could have eaten this every day. The pasta with sausage and broccoli rabe was cooked al dente to perfection with a light flavorful sauce. Overall it was a truly delicious meal in a bright clean setting and I appreciated the freshness of the ingredients. The staff were kind and they were able to seat us without a reservation.

Veratina ins a newer Italian restaurant in Savannah. It is very nice inside , upscale casual. The ambiance is very comforting. The service was outstanding. We ordered arancini to start and they were excellent! Nice crispy outer shell and the cheese inside was gooey and very flavorful. We ordered the stratacuzzi (spelling?) which wa sin the specials menu. It was mild and had bits of broccoli rabe and sausage. It was excellent! I asked our server if it was homemade and he said they do make the pasta in house, wow! Delicious! We also ordered chicken parm which truthfully was some of the best we've ever tasted. We also shared the onion pizza which was on the specials menu. It was ok. I think it may have been a bit overdone. The pistachio ricotta cake was good. The crust was a bit overdone. This will definitely be in our list of places to come back to when we're back in Savannah!

Yum!!! Veratina was one of our last stops in Savannah. We found this place on a whim and went about 15 minutes after opening. We ordered a an appetizer, pizza, and pasta and it was plenty of food for 2. Crispy potatoes were a bit greasy but everything else was fresh. Everything was super flavorful and our server was the sweetest. The details of the restaurant, down to the plates, were all very well thought out. Giving it a 4 because we were charged $8 for water without any notice. :(

Took a chance on the new restaurant in Savannah and so glad we did. Everything was so amazing. Interior of restaurant was beautiful and our server was nice and attentive. Ordered the arancini appetizer.. Would give that a 5/5 and it was better than the arancini we had in Sicily. Split 3 entrees among us three and it was the perfect amount of food. Ordered the chicken parm, strozzapretti pasta dish, and the special menu had an onion bechamel pizza. The chicken parm and strozzapretti were amazing. The strozzapretti had broccoli rabe and it and it was really well done. Sometimes when broccoli rabe isn't cooked right it gets bitter but that wasn't the case. Chicken parm was perfect. Onion pizza wasn't anything special and couldn't really taste the bechemel. Had the pistachio ricotta pie and the filling was great but the crust was overcooked. I would definitely try a different dessert if I came back. Bill was $250 with a bottle of wine and 2 cocktails which I felt was very decent. Can't wait to come back !

Fresh made pasta and sauce! Italy in Savannah! We enjoyed for our anniversary dinner and were bit disappointed. It's a smaller restaurant, so recommend reservations, especially on weekends, to be sure you can get a table. It is nicely decorated, elegant but not fancy. Very cute outdoor, secluded seating! For an apetizer, the CHEESY RICE BALLS were phenominal. Don't miss them! I ordered the housemade CHEESE AND HERB RAVIOLI covered in a creamy version of their featured house red sauce. It was divine! BAM! I believe the herb was basil, but didn't write review quick enough and it slipped my noggin. They had a large selection of different raviolis and different sauces that could be paired. Or you could pair sauce with a type of fresh house pasta. My wife ordered a WOOD FIRED PIZZA, the only proper way to bake an Italian pie. It was delicious. Staff were friendly and accommodating.

The service was impeccable and the space is so cute! Perfect spot for a date night. All of our food was packed with flavor. The only dish I would say was a little bland was the artichoke pizza that was on special. Also, the branzino not coming with any sides was a bit odd but we ordered plenty of dishes to share so we had more than enough to eat to make up for it. The portion sizes are large. Also, the best Caesar salad I've ever had!

Updated 12/31/25 From the moment we walked in, everything about Veratina was extraordinary. The ambiance and vibe are warm, stylish, and inviting--perfect for New Year's Eve or a memorable dining experience here in Savannah. The service was truly exceptional. Hostess Nikki and her counterpart were incredibly welcoming and set the tone right away. Alex, our server, was attentive, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the menu. At the bar, Emily and her counterpart crafted awesome cocktails that were both creative and perfectly balanced. The front-of-house manager was gracious and clearly takes pride in the guest experience. And the food--absolutely outstanding! The pizza and every dish shown in the pics were thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. Veratina delivers on every level: service, atmosphere, drinks, and cuisine. A must-go for anyone living in or visiting Savannah.

The best way to describe this restaurant? Absolutely mouthwatering! From the moment you walk in, the space feels small, cozy, and intimate -- the kind of spot that makes you feel instantly at home. Since I was dining solo, I grabbed a seat at the kitchen bar (yes, it's exactly what it sounds like -- a bar that looks right into the kitchen). Watching the chefs handcraft pizza and pasta just a few feet away was such a treat. I ordered a glass of wine and took it all in as they stretched dough and plated dishes. For dinner, I went with the saffron spaghetti, and it was nothing short of amazing. The pasta came straight from the kitchen to me at the bar, and every bite was packed with flavor. To top it off, I watched them prepare a blueberry cobbler right in front of me -- and of course, I couldn't resist. One bite, and I was completely sold.

Overall enjoyed our dinner here. The chicken parm is pretty tasty and so was the agnolotti (sp?). My gripe is the chicken parm $26 doesn't come with pasta or any side - adding a small side of spaghetti was an additional $14 (waiter said it was only a "couple bucks more", I was surprised to see it billed as $14, but didn't bring it up). Enjoyed the tiramisu, and other pastry dessert - ice cream wasn't good - salted, but an overbearing amount that was no good. I told the waiter we didn't like the ice cream, but he didn't offer anything except - yea, our ice cream is salted. All in all- I'd still come back, but just would be selective around what I got.

Unexpected find in the plethora of great restaurants in Savannah. The Italian inspired menu with local southern flair reflected in both their food and signature cocktails is something you should not miss. To participate in the happy hour specials, you need to sit at the bar. We didn't mind because it gave us a chance to visit with both bartenders and the manager about the food, drinks and the food we should try on our next visit. You will find both casual and upscale dining areas that include inside dining area, the bar and an outside patio. The food was outstanding. They are known for their wood fired oven pizzas. The pizzas are not NY or Chicago style and have a very fluffy crust. We had the arancini as an appetizer on the HH menu. It was delicious! Followed by the wedge. Finally we had a chocolate something something that was absolutely fantastic! They make all their desserts in house.

My wife and I were in Savannah for the weekend and had dinner at Veratina on a hot Friday night in July. We arrived a little early for our reservation and headed to the bar in the back to wait. We met a delightful bartender (Alex?) who hooked us up with a couple of glasses of Chianti. The restaurant was quite busy as we surveyed the other guests while waiting. Everyone seemed to be having a great time. My eye caught the pizza-making station and made our dinner selection easy once seated. The hostess seated us at the first table right by the main door. Other guests hovered around our table while they were waiting to be seated, which was not ideal. Also, the noise level in this front dining room was deafening compared to the bar area. If you can get seated towards the back or if the dew point is not in the 70s, even outside, all the better. We couldn't carry on a conversation seated across from one another. We ordered a wedge salad to split as a starter and a Margherita pizza that wasn't on the menu. The wedge salad arrived already split but swimming in dressing. It was a huge portion and delicious, apart from the excessive dressing. When we asked our server about the disproportionate amount of dressing, he said, "Yeah, I noticed that." Why not replate it then with less dressing? The pizza came out shortly thereafter. It looked and tasted delicious. Their crust was not your typical pizza crust, but in a good way. We were not sure what made the crust unusually delicious. Was it honey? We thoroughly enjoyed our pie and found it the perfect size for two. Overall, our meal was enjoyable. We should have just stayed at the bar in the back, though, and had our dinner there.

Immaculate vibe and outstanding service from start to finish. The Arancini was fried to perfection, with a pepperoni sauce that was truly one of a kind. I had the malfadine with pancetta and "gravy" -- absolutely unreal. We also tried the 'nduja pizza and the flavors were incredible -- the touch of honey was perfect. The potatoes were the best seasoned I've ever had anywhere. Can't wait to go back!

So, after moving to GA recently, we decided to go back for my birthday. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the old Italian look of this place. We could not have asked for a better table location as we were all the way in the back and tucked away in the corner, very private and romantic. The only issue is the circular coach seating was worn out, and I knew with bad back I might in for an uncomfortable night. The service itself was professional, but not very friendly. While most staff members seemed to smile and appeared to be enjoying themselves, our waiter acted like he did not want to be there. As for the food, it just did not measure up to the past, as there was 1 great dish, 1 OK dish, 1 not so good and 1 just bad. We started out strong with Denver Lamb Ribs with a sweet Ginger soy sauce glaze. Easily the best rib dish we ever had. We debated on our next dish between the Lobster Cocktail or Stone Crab Claw and unfortunately went for the Crab as it had years since we had some. We both agreed the Crab meat did not seem fresh as it was mushy and the sauce lacked the tang of a traditional Stone Crab sauce. We both ordered the Crispy Scored Flounder as that is the reason we came here in the 1st place. The dish is a Flounder, that is scored on both sides into easy chunks to eat, with and Apricot Shallot Sauce. Overall, it was an OK dish, but not as good as either of us remembered as it could have used more sauce on top of the fish. We finished up with a poorly executed Bourbon Pecan pie. This dish looked (see picture) and tasted not much different than a Little Debbie pie you buy in boxes of 10 at the grocery store. This small round piece of pie had zero Bourbon sauce or flavor whatsoever. The dish seemed so out of place both looking and tasting, that I went to see what others posted on yelp, and what we were served didn't even come close to previous dinners experiences. Not a great way to end my birthday dinner.

That search led me to The Olde Pink House--a magnificent historic mansion dating back to 1771, now home to one of Savannah's most memorable restaurants. The décor is beautiful, with antique furnishings, fireplaces, elegant woodwork, chandeliers, and enough historical character to make any ghost hunter feel immediately at home. The building is surprisingly large, with numerous dining rooms, each decorated and arranged differently. Exploring it feels almost like wandering through a well-preserved haunted mansion--though thankfully, the staff were much friendlier than the ghosts I had recently captured. The food was excellent, and everyone in our party enjoyed what they ordered. I'm not usually much of a beer drinker, but I tried the Hostess City, a craft beer brewed exclusively for The Olde Pink House, and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Our server was wonderful, and we were even able to exchange ghost stories with them. We all had a good laugh, although I'm fairly certain one of the portraits nearby was laughing along with us. We arrived dressed entirely in black, and not a single person batted an eye. In Savannah, this is apparently considered perfectly respectable evening attire--or perhaps everyone simply assumed we were attending a funeral for one of the restless dead. After dinner, we asked whether we could explore the other sections of the restaurant, and we were told it would be no problem. We were able to visit the different dining rooms and examine the antiques and objects respectfully without disturbing the other guests. Be sure to visit the bar downstairs, Planters Tavern. It has a wonderfully haunted atmosphere, with brick walls, old-world décor, and a beautiful fireplace that must be especially inviting during the winter months. The basement's fireplaces were reportedly part of the home's original kitchen, which only adds to the feeling that the room remembers far more than it lets on. The Olde Pink House offers excellent food, beautiful surroundings, friendly service, and just enough supernatural atmosphere to keep a ghost hunter interested. I arrived looking for somewhere to recover from the night's haunting. I left well fed, pleasantly spirits-laden, and only mildly concerned that one of the ghosts may have followed me home.
