Calamari
Tawny V.

Decided on this spot last minute, and given it was a very wet, rainy, cold Friday evening! They were pretty busy, so we had about a 30-minute wait. On their website, it does mention reservations only, so if you're visiting the island, I'd definitely recommend calling ahead for any restaurants you want to try, this town is busy no matter the season. I think people here just love eating out! As much as I want to deduct a star for the wait, I have to say the service and food were absolutely impeccable. The only minor hiccup was that the runners and servers weren't always perfectly in sync, but big shoutout to the hardworking cooks in the back, they really keep this town thriving. Hope they get the recognition they deserve! Now, onto the food, the bread was hot and fresh, the calamari and sauce was delish! I had the Pappardelle con Capesante e Vodka -house-made vodka sauce, hand-cut pasta, pancetta, sea scallops, and fresh basil. My partner ordered the Zuppa di Pesce con Arrabbiata - scallops, shrimp, mussels, garlic, spicy tomato sauce, and linguine. The sear on the scallops was definitely there, and the amount of mussels in the zuppa di pesce was enormous.

Great place! The restaurant is pretty small, but they make good use of the space and we got a table in the outside enclosed patio. Service and the host was great, food came very quickly. We ordered a Caesar salad and bruschetta to start and loved both. I ordered the Zappa di pesce con arrabiata and my husband got the meatballs and linguine. Both were delicious and we had plenty for leftovers the next day. Enjoyed our meal, prices were reasonable and will definitely be back.

Such a great spot!!!! The food was so yummy!! I would come back here in a heartbeat. The bread was so delicious to start, homemade and warm! The burrata is a must order. The pasta dishes were huge and homemade. The service was incredible and the place was busy, you can tell why!

It was all very good! We split the caprese salad, got a bottle or rosé, which was an excellent French dry rosé, and then each got an entree, and split a dessert. It was a lot of food and we enjoyed it all!

Meatballs, fried artichokes, arancini

Pomodori was excellent and our favorite meal so far on the island. We showed up early without reservations and they were able to squeeze us in. We enjoyed a Caesar salad with anchovies - so good! I LOVE white anchovies - very pleased! Hubby and I weren't very hungry so opted for appetizers - fried anchovies with a lemon aioli, arancini with smoked mozzarella and risotto served with a tomato sauce and basil, and two meatballs. All of it was fresh and absolutely delicious! Tables are close together, but we still felt like we had a nice, quiet and private meal. We would rerun tomorrow if there were open reservations. We are looking forward to a return visit with early reservations!

The food was excellent, the staff accommodating, and very friendly. We had a great time. If you're in the mood for Italian, I definitely recommend. I've already bookmarked for the next time in Hilton Head

Cozy restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. They've done a nice job enclosing the outside seating so you don't feel like you are sitting in a parking lot. We sat in the bar area which is a cozy spot in the rear of the restaurant. Reservations are recommended. The bread was crusty perfection. I had the eggplant. You can choose your preferred preparation like Marsala , piccata, parmigiana, etc. I had the Parmesan preparation, which was excellent. The eggplant was served over pasta and a rich tomato sauce. The portion was huge so I took it home and had it for three meals. I look forward to returning.

Favorite place on the island for quality Italian! Always fantastic service with good recommendations and attention to detail. My go to is the gnocchi but I branched out with the eggplant Milanese (multiple preparations to choose with each base option) that had a great lemon flavor on the linguine and crunch on the eggplant. The tiramisu is another favorite with its more mousse-like take on the classic! Indoor, cozy seating is great for a rainy night.

This place was truly incredible and far exceeded our expectations. The pasta was some of the best we've ever had and we have been to Italy ourselves. The service was perfect and the wine was also great. The house made bread was divine. I can't recommend this place enough. It's a must try.

Polli al limone con capelli D'Angelo (with spaghetti squash instead of pasta)

Fantastic food and service. Pasta is all fresh and the dishes are very well prepared, and super fast. The ravioli was delicious and simple, but the sauce (with sausage) was really the star. You can sub-out the pasta for spaghetti squash. We thought it would be on just...spaghetti squash. No... it was a half of a cooked spaghetti squash! Pleasantly surprised. Restaurant is casual, but very classy. A little noisy but nothing crazy. It feels like a family environment, but I wouldn't bring small children. One BIG note: you have to make a reservation. We were a walk-in and just got lucky. They're turning people away non-stop!

Overall food was quite good. Chicken Parmesan was crispy and very tasty. Decided to get the squash instead of linguine and that wasn't my favorite. Fettuccine Alfredo was very cheesy, Scallop/Pasta dish was a winner. Spaghetti and meatballs were nothing to write home about. Arancini balls are large, crispy and cheesy. All portions were quite large which reflected the prices. Would have probably liked a 1/2 order of some of the dishes (didn't ask). Service was pleasant and attentive. Location is a bit awkward in the corner of the building. Small but good setup inside and outdoor addition with seating which was nice but not much of a view.

Best Italian food on Hilton Hrad. Everything is made from scratch. Small restaurant so reservations are necessary.

They brought out water and we ordered a bottle of wine. They have a pretty good wine selection. We both decided to do the 3 course for $45. I ordered the Ceaser salad and hubby got the Al Dente Salad. Both were good and lettuce was fresh. I chose the Chicken Parm with Linguine. It was a solid 4 out of 5 stars. The breading was good & it was baked with cheese melted over top. I deducted 1 star because the sauce was a tad bit too salty for my preference, but overall it was good. I would consider ordering this again here. Hubs got the Lasagna Rollatini with Sunday Ragout. I thought it looked very good but I don't eat beef, so I didn't try it. Hubs thought it was good. For dessert I ordered the Lemon Marscapone cake, which was delicious. It had great flavor but was not overly sweet. The marscapone icing was light and creamy. I would definitely order that again. My hubby doesn't typically care for lemon desserts, but he tried a couple of bites and was impressed. Hubs ordered the Italian Cheesecake and it was delicious as well. We both enjoyed it. Our service was outstanding and the person who brought out the wine was fringe and helpful as well. Hubby typically likes bread with his meal but we didn't order any. Next time we will have to try it.

I am not sure if we just caught them on a bad night, but overall the food was "meh". We arrived around 6 and were seated immediately. We started with a bottle of wine and they brought bread and garlic butter. The bread was nice and crusty and garlic butter was very good. I ordered the pear & gargonzola salad, which is normally one of my favorites. Unfortunately the baby mixed greens were not very fresh, when I was about halfway through I noticed browned leaves on my plate, which was not very appealing. Hubby ordered a ceaser salad and his lettuce looked much fresher and more appetizing than my salad. My next disappointment was when I wanted to order the Rotola di Spinaci. Our server said it was not avaliable. :-( I was in the mood for something with red sauce and there really weren't many options that sounded appealing to me since I dont eat beef or pork. The only other option I saw was eggplant parm, so I ordered that. Unfortunately the eggplant parm fell short for me. The eggplant was bland and tasted unseasoned. The homemade marinara was a little disappointing as well in that it wasn't a rich flavorful sauce. I would definitely not order this dish again here. My hubby ordered one of the specials - some sort of chicken with broccoli & green beans and pasta with a creamy white sauce. Hubs was pleased with his meal. Overall, the service was good, but not outstanding. I told my hubby after we finished that they probably just don't specialize in southern Italian dishes (with red sauce) because so many of the menu options were creamy or cheesy or butter/white wine sauce. If we decide to give them another try, I'd definitely stick to one of the white sauce options.

The staff continues to impress--attentive, warm, and they actually remembered us, which made the experience feel even more special. We even saw the young gentleman from Croatia again who had taken care of us on a previous visit--he was just as pleasant and even stopped by our table to say hello, which was such a nice touch. We dined later in the evening this time, and it was really special to see the staff, managers, and I believe even the owner all still there together. It felt less like coworkers and more like a family--which says a lot about a place. Food-wise, everything held up to our first visit (which is rare!). I couldn't resist and ordered the beef bourguignon again--still absolutely incredible. We also had escargot (note: it comes with béchamel unless you ask otherwise), and that amazing cassoulet loaded with different meats from the evening--it was spectacular. Safe to say this place is officially our favorite on the island... and yes, I'm still tempted to keep it a secret .
