I was excited to try Piatti after seeing pretty good reviews. We finally got around to trying it out this week. I am not sure if we just caught them on a bad night, but overall the food was "meh". We arrived around 6 and were seated immediately. We started with a bottle of wine and they brought bread and garlic butter. The bread was nice and crusty and garlic butter was very good. I ordered the pear & gargonzola salad, which is normally one of my favorites. Unfortunately the baby mixed greens were not very fresh, when I was about halfway through I noticed browned leaves on my plate, which was not very appealing. Hubby ordered a ceaser salad and his lettuce looked much fresher and more appetizing than my salad. My next disappointment was when I wanted to order the Rotola di Spinaci. Our server said it was not avaliable. :-( I was in the mood for something with red sauce and there really weren't many options that sounded appealing to me since I dont eat beef or pork. The only other option I saw was eggplant parm, so I ordered that. Unfortunately the eggplant parm fell short for me. The eggplant was bland and tasted unseasoned. The homemade marinara was a little disappointing as well in that it wasn't a rich flavorful sauce. I would definitely not order this dish again here. My hubby ordered one of the specials - some sort of chicken with broccoli & green beans and pasta with a creamy white sauce. Hubs was pleased with his meal. Overall, the service was good, but not outstanding. I told my hubby after we finished that they probably just don't specialize in southern Italian dishes (with red sauce) because so many of the menu options were creamy or cheesy or butter/white wine sauce. If we decide to give them another try, I'd definitely stick to one of the white sauce options. read more

My husband and I travel quite a bit and really enjoy trying new restaurants. Our meal at Piatti was one of the best we've had and the service matched! From apps to main dishes to desserts, everything was delicious. The fact that they make just about everything in house makes it really hard to decide what to order, but I don't think there's a wrong choice. Well we took our niece Sloane here for dinner. We were at Quarterdeck when we heard a friend tells us about this place. I had the calarmari, not bad, not the best. Hands down the BEST Italian food on the island. Wish I had taken some pictures. The pasta is made in house as are the desserts. The veal dishes are amazing and so tender with a delicious side of crisp tender vegetables and the house made pasts. We have been looking for a really good Italian restaurant after trying quite a few and this one is by far the best! It's tucked away in a strip mall but charming with a Mediterranean motif inside and plenty of parking. Service was wonderful and the prices are reasonable. The tiramisu was to die for. We will be back every time we're on the island, probably a couple of times each visit. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

This is the best italian restaurant in Hilton Head Island! All of the pasta is made by Chef Hugo, and available with a wide variety of sauces. The fresh halibut is always cooked to perfection and Chef prepares delicious sauces. The staff is always attentive and helpful. They also have a nice selection of wine and a full bar offering. The staff was very pleasant and was able to make some accommodations and recommendations. The bartender is very sweet guy as well. The ambience is a hidden gym with romance. The complimentary bread and GARLIC butter was outstanding and fresh out of the oven. The puff pastry lobster bisque was divine -- 4 of us ordered it! But honestly, EVERYTHING was divine and their desserts were also of top quality--very decadent. I even got served a birthday tiramisu. The foods tasted just like the pictures look! Piatti Hilton Head is not to be missed. To start we enjoyed fresh baked bread, olive oil and garlic butter complimented by Aperol Spritz and Daou from the extensive wine list. Appetizers included Cesar salad and lobster bisque topped with a light pastry. For dinner we enjoyed several selection including baked salmon, shrimp linguine and chicken with pesto pasta. For desert we shared moulton lava cake which was among the best we'd ever had. Service was great provided by a sweet Italian young lady. And ambiance was standard Italian well within expectation. Every plate at the table was clean. The food was amazing. The service was excellent. If you don't make the time to come to this place for dinner you are doing yourself a disservice. The sous chef (Bryan) was our server as he wanted to get feedback for the dishes and he was excellent. The Ravioli Di Aragosta is an award winning dish. The sous chef won first place for it when he was 17. We got the trio dessert platter for dessert as well. Amazing. It came with tiramisu, bananas foster cheesecake, and molten lava cake. There can't possibly be anything that comes out of the kitchen that's bad. Make the stop if you're in town you won't regret it! read more

We had a great experience at Piatti. The homemade pasta is definitely the star of any meal, so highly recommend. Our server was one of the chef's and was therefore very knowledgeable of the menu. While they do not have a kids menu, they are very accommodating and welcoming to kids (my kids loved it!), and could really prepare most anything. Had a craving for Italian food and decided to try Piatti for the first time. The atmosphere and service were excellent. My wife had Polpette di Carne and I had the Amatriciana Strozzapretti. We thought the Polpette was really very good but the Strozzapretti was absolutely delicious. I also had the Beet salad that was a special that evening, it was wonderful. The food was some of the best Italian food we have ever experienced in Italy or at home in the U.S. and we therefore highly recommend Piatti. read more

one of THE BEST restaurants on the island.....if traditional italian fare is your thing, you're gonna love it here. all pastas are homemade, apps, salads, entrees are all traditional style with a unique modern spin. SERVICE IS A-1!!! our server, KSENIIA (name on receipt), was exceptional. she coursed our way though our dinner, without a rush, without piling up plates on the table (one of my pet peeves is when servers dumps off your entree when you're still eating your salad, or salad when you're eating your appetizer) she paced everything out perfectly!!! we enjoyed a couple rounds of cocktails then had a couple glasses of wine as we ate. apps were great; calamari & beef carpaccio. calamari was hand "breaded" without all that gummy flour coating that many restaurants serve. carpaccio was paper thin and deliciously dressed simply with just evoo & a bit of lime. our salad was SOOO good, a twist on a caprese salad. this salad was served warm, allowing the fresh mozzarella to melt slightly over the tomato slices then topping with pesto & anchovies. i had the ricotta ravioli with peas & proscuitto in a tomato cream. my only complaint would be that the peas tasted like "cow peas", kind of mealy and have an odd flavor. i think baby peas would have been a better choice. out other entree was homemade pesto linguine with vegetables, you could add a protein, but we found it unnecessary. lots of great choices to tempt one with on the dessert menu, but we were to full to indulge overall, THIS PLACE IS AWESOME....then ENTIRE staff was great (special shout out to the bus girl...sooo super friendly). we HIGHLY recommend this restaurant!!!!! read more

We had the pleasure of dinner at Piatti on Hilton Head. The restaurant has a cozy vibe, dimly lit and very comfortable. The appetizers are varied and very interesting. My husband ordered the lobster bisque with a puff pastry crust, and I chose the burrata, which appeared with prosciutto, pears and greens dressed in balsamic vinegar. We were both absolutely delighted. The bread was warm and baked in-house...delicious! Our main courses were chicken piccata for him and a light and flavorful version of eggplant parmigiana, unlike any past experience of mine. The sauces were delicious, respectively, and all the pasta was made in- house. Our experience was just wonderful. We chose the Piatti dessert medley which is an offering of samples of all the desserts...again, all prepared in-house, extremely generous portions and beyond delicious. The service was impeccable. Overall this was a good experience! My wife had the ravioli with ricotta and spinach with artichoke hearts. She said it was weird because the ricotta was grainy and not very creamy. But the artichoke hearts were delicious! I had an off the menu chicken parmigiana. The chicken was good, but the accompanying pasta had huge chunks of garlic in it (very unappetizing). As locals this is truly the worst restaurant on hilton head. We were warned by friends that the food was terrible but they had gone after the restaurant was newly opened. We arrived and what appears to be the only server wouldn't even give us two seconds to decide what to drink before she ran off and said looks like you need more time. The calamari was only ok and did not come hot. Two different ravioli were flavorless, Luke warm, and not cooked with hard crunchy corners, the Rotolo was in watery sweet tomato sauce, flavorless filling with melted cheese. If you are looking for Italian try one of the other south end italian options and stay away from this one. read more

I have become a bit jaded about yelp reviews in the last couple of years due to what I perceive to be a lot of fake reviews and chicanery. But I felt compelled to submit this review and I must say I had one of the best dining experiences I've had in the last four or five years. Trying this restaurant for the first time, it was absolutely spectacular. Excellent service, extremely nice atmosphere and the food was fabulous. My wife and I shared the salad that was on special that had roasted beets, arugula, and fried goat cheese, which was stupendous. We also shared the chicken piccata, and I asked the chef to make it spicy and it was perfect. Fresh pasta, perfectly cooked veggies and the piccata sauce was what I would've made for myself. This restaurant only opened a couple of weeks ago, but it is a hidden gem which you must try. Highly recommended. read more

We enjoy a nice antipasto and Piatti hit it just right with prochutto, salami, cheese, cauliflower, and bruschetta. Lovely! Nice wine list. We also had tiramisu for dessert - what a slice, we shared. Perfect for a romantic dinner or for families. We saw the chef greet another table. The hostess was welcoming and the waitress could handle the room with grace.
