During the holidays we found this location to be centrally located near our rental property as well as shopping for food. The wide selection made it very easy to accommodate our hosting events and the price point for everything was as expected. They have a lot of mini and gift-related items so if you were unsure about investing fully into anything, you could pick up a mini and still enjoy. Most of the staff was extremely helpful with checking on things we didn't see on the shelves so I have to give them kudos for going above and beyond. When it came to paying or asking a question, our interaction was the opposite as we felt more like a burden vs a customer. All good, we made multiple trips and quickly learn who to ask for help :-) If we had more time, we definitely would of planned to take advantage of the group tasting. The selections in that area were great, some price points on champagne was slightly higher than expected, but glad they had on hand. read more

My husband and I went because we heard of the selection and expertise. We wanted to find anew wine to try and heard they had samples. A flight of 3 different wines, which gave you no options, was $22 and the pours were two thimbles full. The woman who helped us told us nothing about the wines, seemed irritated when we asked questions, and all the wines tasted sour, like they had been sitting for days. The wines for sale had no descriptions or Wine Spectator ratings, and the prices were outrageous. We left and went to Kroger and bought a decent bottle for $8 less. This is a tourist trap. Next time we will visit one of the Bluffton wine stores. read more

What a fantastic place! Wife and I went for happy hour to have some wine and cheese and we are so glad we did. They have a cute bar and a few nice tables where people can hang out kinda hidden within their wine/beer section of their store. The hostess was fantastic. She was so kind and gave fantastic recommendations. We had a few glasses of her recommended wines and got a charcuterie board which had so many different cured meats, cheeses, and crackers. Just a great experience. We bought a few beers and spirits to go and while I was checking out, I asked the hostess if they had any cheap wine bottle openers since our airbnb did not have any, and she just threw a wine bottle opener in my bag for free! Granted I did spend a lot of money on the food and drinks, but that gesture was so kind and much appreciated. They know how to treat customers here and the store and "bar" is great too! We came on a Thursday night for the wine tasting. Call in advance to ask for a booth for your party! My husband and I were perfectly placed in an intimate booth with our little Havanese dog. We went here for the wine tasting when we were on vacation and It was so much fun! They have such a nice outdoor space and it feels really private even though you are in a shopping center. They had live music also which was really nice. I recommend the wine tasting because you get to try 6 different wines and they are big pours. Maddie took great care of us and told us about the different wines and got us anything we needed. We also ordered a delicious and instagrammable cheese plate. Since i am on vacation in Hilton Head, i asked if they could find the product but they took my number and they will get back to see if the item can be sourced from the distributor. I will wait for that call and update you all. Update about 2 hrs later, I was contacted and informed that the beer i am looking for is a limited release and they are completely sold out. At this time they will keep my info in the system and contact with the next release from d9 brewery as they seem to produce limited run on their beers. After getting caught in the rain during our first Hilton Head, SC weekend getaway, my mom and I stopped in to see the selection of wine and spirits this place had to offer. We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of wine and spirits they had and to find a tasting bar. I saw on their special that you could choose any 3 glasses of bubbles for a flight. This excited me because most places have restrictions as they want you to purchase a bottle vs. a tasting as the bottle goes flat. My mom said she wanted a snack and our hostess was so sweet she made us a pimento, cracker and olive plate. She also added a hibiscus for a pop of color. The only reason I give it 4 out of 5 stars is because it is on the pricer side, but I guess that should be expected based on location. read more

OMG where do I start! I love that I found this place online and went in. It was pouring rain on very short vacation in Hilton Head, so decided to go to Rollers. This place is beautiful and Madelyn was awesome! I was intimidated when I walked in looking around because I don't know much about wine and champagne but she was great at explaining and made sure I enjoyed everything! Small bar but we were able to get 3 seats. We got the champagne flight (I've never seen this before), and an IPA. Also the cheese and charcuterie board and everything was presented so beautifully and tasted fresh and delicious! We didn't buy any bottles but they have a big store and looked like a great selection! Wish it was in my town as I would be there often! Next time I'm in HH, I will definitely go again! read more

Pick another liquor store! I was left so speechless that I had to confer with my boyfriend afterwards to confirm what I heard from our cashier. As we were checking out, my boyfriend asked where we could find the agave syrup. We were informed it was sold on the other side due to legal reasons. As Virginia natives, my boyfriend responded that it was interesting since our liquor stores (ABC) sell all mixers in the same store. Our grumpy, old cashier felt the need to snarkily respond with, "I don't need a review of Virginia." Wasn't giving you a review, sir. Just trying to friendly converse while you were scanning our items. We frequent this location and he has always came off as discourteous but has never been openly rude like tonight. This location is an AMAZING place to get your beer, cigars, liquors, wines, and (oddly enough?) fine cheeses. Rollers Wine & Spirits has a couple of locations on the island, but this is their home base store with the largest selection. It's gorgeous on the inside, has easy parking, and regularly has events. I'd definitely recommend heading out here for your alcoholic needs. PROS: -Rollers Wine & Spirits is effectively a huge, immaculately-decorated alcohol store split in half (due to South Carolina laws). Their advertising brochures calls it "Gatsby-esque", and I'd totally agree. Stepping into here feels like a luxurious adventure and a pleasant shopping experience - with lots of neat stuff to explore and constant amazing things to catch your attention. It's definitely a full alcoholic shopping experience - not just a quick "beer run" - at least your first time. -Amazingly large variety. If it's a wine or liquor from the area, they probably have it. They have a decent selection of craft beers and an averagely-large selection of cigars in their humidor. (They can cut them for you too!) Definitely perfect for wine or liquor - and pretty darn good for cigars or beer. -They allow you to purchase beers by the single can - they just ask that you purchase in increments of four or six cans/bottles. You just pick out what you want, assemble your packs, and you're good to go - and can stop back in for the full-sized sets when you figure out what you want. -The customer service here was absolutely astounding. I didn't catch her name, but she greeted us quickly, gave us basic information about how to shop there, told us about the options, gave great beer recommendations, and even let us know about the events that were coming up there. She was quick to step in and make sure we were doing okay but she also gave us tons of space to make our selections. Amazing customer service. She honestly had an answer for every question we had. I'm not sure how one employee is so knowledgeable about so many things, but dang, it's amazing. -This location has regular events. I'm not sure if it's just during on-season, but they have weekly free wine tastings as well as some non-free weekly alcoholic events as well. They have a beautiful outdoor patio as well as indoor kitchen for these events, and some of the events look ridiculously fun. I'd definitely check out their event listing if wine tastings or craft beer events are up your alley. CONS: -The beer selection isn't quite as amazing as it seems at first glance. They carry a lot of repeats on the shelves. I'd love to see them expand their craft beer selection to match the amazingness of their wine offerings. read more

Visited the shop during my recent vacation to Hilton Head Island. I was very interested in the option to enjoy a wine tasting as I am a huge wine lover and enjoy visiting any winery or wine related store available. $15.99 for a 5-glass tasting and can choose from a flight of whites or reds. If I recall, I believe that there was an option to choose a 3-glass tasting as well. The staff talked to us about what we currently enjoy drinking and we provided names of grape varietals and offered specific examples from the wines offered for sale in the store for a better comparison. We were then provided a tasting table outside on their patio for our enjoyment. The flight of wines were provided and the staff briefly went over each wine in the glasses. I am not a fan of not receiving a list of what we were tasting. I asked to have the girl come back out to tell us what we were drinking while trying to write down as fast as I could the information about each wine (grape varietal, country of origin, vintage, etc) so that I could align my tasting experience to the wine information available. The wines selected for our flight of reds were not chosen well and not anywhere close to what we said we enjoyed drinking. I was disappointed in what we were given because we were asked what our preference of wines were, what grape varietals did we tend to enjoy and although they had wines selected for us, I felt they could have chosen a better selection or at least provide us the option to choose from a list so that we could see what was available to try. I am happy to have tried the selected wines before purchasing for sure. None of what I tasted I was interested in purchasing but again, I do not feel the wines were chosen well based on what we said we enjoy drinking regularly. I do recommend that if you are going to enjoy a tasting experience at the store to purchase a cheese plate for the experience. The shop provides complementary fruit infused water inside the shop. One positive is that you are allowed to taste at your own pace which provides a relaxing experience. I would price check the bottles that you are interested in purchasing as I found many bottles available for purchase here are cheaper to purchase at Krogers in Hilton Head. Cheeses were available to purchase in the store. Another disappointment was the staff appeared more involved with their cell phones than attending to the guests while shopping within the store. I felt that there is the potential for a better experience next time. I also believe that the overall store environment and offerings is great to see in Hilton Head. However, this current experience left me having to provide 3-stars. I would still recommend trying any wine store and tasting experience, as I will try again perhaps on my next visit. I wish the process in how and what wines are chosen for the tasting catered more to the customers and allowed the customers to choose from a list of wines as it provides a more enjoyable experience. Came here looking for a bottle of rose and found out they do custom wine and cheese flights. You tell them the kind of wines you typically like and hey pair with cheeses. We enjoyed all the wines and the cheeses and ended up taking two of the recommendations to go. The tastings are held in a cute courtyard that has fans for when it is hot. July 9, 2022 - We are vacationing in our favorite home away from home on Hilton Head Island. We stopped at our favorite Publix to stock up on essentials, bread, milk, fresh fruit, and beverages. We were able to get a few of our favorite wines at Publix but we wanted spirits too. We stopped in the Rollers Wine & Spirits shop located across the parking lot, Palmetto Bay location. A beautiful shop with lots to choose from! We found what we needed and while checking out the older obnoxious male cashier made a very derogatory comment about people from New Jersey. As I write this comment I see that another person wrote a review on 7/5/22 describing the cashier as grumpy and making a snarky comment about Virginia. I think I will also get in touch with the owner of this chain. This type of service and unsolicited comments should not be tolerated. read more

LOVED!!! Came here in the middle of the day with my mother in law to get wine flights. I like reds and she like fruity, sparkling wines and the woman brought us each 5 glasses for tasting specifically catered to the wines we described liking. She did a great job picking them out and was so friendly! We then decided 'what's wine without cheese' and she brought us two fantastic cheese to pair with our wines. The shop in itself is very cute and there is a large table inside for tasting, but there is a decent sized back patio area as well for enjoying beverages. They also had a a decent size selection of beer as well which you could do a mix and match sample six pack of! Definitely would recommend this place to anyone who loves wine, beer, and it cheese!
