It was suggested we give this place a visit, and quickly put it on our itinerary. It was an amazing time! It is a wine shop, yes. But it is also a wine bar! If you are there to sit and sip, you go up to the register and start a tab. They give you a lil' hotel key looking card that is attached to the tab you started. And then you self-serve around via the contraptions holding the available wines for tasting. You insert the card, select the wine you want a pour of, and what volume of the wine you want dispensed in to your glass. The machines show you what each amount of each variety costs and you get as much as you want when you want. It is fun and convenient, and then you get to sit and sit at some tables set among the quantities of wine available for purchase. When you are done, you go up to the register to tally up and close out. They have a good variety and range of wines available for tasting and purchase, red and white, dry to sweet. The staff is friendly and happy to answer any questions or steer you in a direction you might be interested in going. We had a delightful time here and I would absolutely return for a visit on a future trip to Savannah! read more

We came in for a wine tasting event and what a great time we had! I paid for us beforehand and the check in process was so easy! We walked in and were directed to the cashier to get us checked in. She handed us wine glasses and a paper with the wines we were going to be tasting. We then went to a lady who gave us three wines to try and she was so pleasant, funny and kind! Also the other people who were there to try the wines were great too! After we tried three wines, we went to another lady to try three more wines! She was just as kind and funny! We were also given light snacks and water to have as we tried the wines. We were also given so much facts about the wines we were tasting and we learned so much! The inside is beautiful and it really does feel like you're in a wine cellar. I can't wait to come back and try another wine tasting event! read more

If you're looking for a place that offers tastings and reasonably priced boutique wines, you will have found your wine heaven. I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet! But it may be in part due to my selfish nature of wanting to keep this place my special secret. It's my happy place. I'll go over work when I want to sit alone and do a tasting, or grab some girlfriends for their incredible happy, or willingly drag along my boyfriend to pick up my wine club and attend an event. No matter the occasion, this place will suit all of your wine needs. I find it to be an extra bonus that they have unique wines from all over the world- making me want to try them all and let my taste buds travel the world. If you aren't sure what you're looking for, one of their exceedingly helpful staff members will kindly point you in the right direction. The vibe is always welcoming- I easily loose track of time. This place is DARLING. I've only been once but it's just the cutest shop. You can try various wines and then purchase anything you like. There is an area in the back where you can sit with friends and chat. It's rather small so it doesn't get loud like some places might. I recommend checking it out. read more

If you're looking for a date night idea or somewhere to go before dinner, definitely hit up Savannah Wine Cellar! My boyfriend and I often come here for wine tasting during their happy hour from 5-7 pm (Mon-Fri) because all samples are 50% off...I often leave tipsy with just a $10 tab. They have 40+ wines to sample, and you can choose to either sample 1 or 2 oz. Personally I love their sweet wines but there's also a huge variety of red, white and rose wines. They switch out their wines frequently so we always have new ones to try when we go back. If you end up loving what you sample, they also sell hundreds of different bottles of wine! Awesome staff, and a neat concept with the automatic dispensers. We love stopping in here for the various happy hour fundraiser events the Cellar hosts. We also joined the monthly wine club, which is a great value. To date, we have really enjoyed all the monthly selections, as well as the great savings on regular bottles. I can't say enough about how friendly, knowledgeable and professional the staff are. We always feel welcomed and trust the recommendations we are given. Although the space can get a little crowded during tastings, they always manage to give all the customers their full attention. I really enjoy that they carry some unusual types of wine for Savannah, and the price points are always very reasonable. We don't drink wine very often, but this was the perfect way to get introduced to a new interest of ours. We planned our visit during happy hour when all the samples are half off. The self-serve option is perfect and allowed us to sample at our own pace without any pressure to pretend to like what we tried, and the staff was wonderful in directing us toward flavors we might like better and telling us about the different wines. This place totally shocked me! I discovered it simply just googling "Wine tasting in Savannah, GA" and this popped up. For the lovely price of $10 per person every Saturday you can try up to 6 pretty nicely priced wine's. We had two white wines, a rose, and a selection of three different red wines as well. After checking in and receiving my wine itinerary for the tasting, you are first greeted by the first host who will pour you two white wines and a rose' (this is what we had on our Saturday, they change the different selections weekly). I was excited to see the large selection of all the wines. Moving to the back of the wine cellar you are then greeted by your next host who will serve you a selection of three other wines. We learned a lot of facts about the different wines, the hosts were very informative. By this point your taste buds may be shot from the strong but flavorful wines. They have a small selection of salami, cheese and crackers once you make your way around. I judged it at first, but it turned out to be needed and appreciated. This wine cellar is within a plaza, so you can also find somewhere to eat and shop I believe. I would/will definitely be back! read more
