We went to Papi Tequila for lunch! I got a build your own bowl with Tajin grilled shrimp, black beans, corn salsa, pickled onions and yellow rice. Everything tasted soo fresh! Especially the shrimp! They were cooked perfectly. Also the corn salsa was delicious! It was beyond just a regular corn salsa, it had great seasoning! I polished off my entire meal. Service was also attentive and friendly and we sat outside which was awesome! Also, the restaurant was so clean. Overall, I'd definitely come back!

Interesting food and good cocktails. Service at the bar during happy hour was excellent. Like what they have done to the interior.

The staff continues to impress--attentive, warm, and they actually remembered us, which made the experience feel even more special. We even saw the young gentleman from Croatia again who had taken care of us on a previous visit--he was just as pleasant and even stopped by our table to say hello, which was such a nice touch. We dined later in the evening this time, and it was really special to see the staff, managers, and I believe even the owner all still there together. It felt less like coworkers and more like a family--which says a lot about a place. Food-wise, everything held up to our first visit (which is rare!). I couldn't resist and ordered the beef bourguignon again--still absolutely incredible. We also had escargot (note: it comes with béchamel unless you ask otherwise), and that amazing cassoulet loaded with different meats from the evening--it was spectacular. Safe to say this place is officially our favorite on the island... and yes, I'm still tempted to keep it a secret .

Lots on the menu, but the Oscar goes to Travel Tip: Order SOUPE A L'OIGabNON. I am not sure if we just caught them on a bad night, but overall the food was "meh". We arrived around 6 and were seated immediately. We started with a bottle of wine and they brought bread and garlic butter. The bread was nice and crusty and garlic butter was very good. I ordered the pear & gargonzola salad, which is normally one of my favorites. Unfortunately the baby mixed greens were not very fresh, when I was about halfway through I noticed browned leaves on my plate, which was not very appealing. Hubby ordered a ceaser salad and his lettuce looked much fresher and more appetizing than my salad. My next disappointment was when I wanted to order the Rotola di Spinaci. Our server said it was not avaliable. :-( I was in the mood for something with red sauce and there really weren't many options that sounded appealing to me since I dont eat beef or pork. The only other option I saw was eggplant parm, so I ordered that. Unfortunately the eggplant parm fell short for me. The eggplant was bland and tasted unseasoned. The homemade marinara was a little disappointing as well in that it wasn't a rich flavorful sauce. I would definitely not order this dish again here. My hubby ordered one of the specials - some sort of chicken with broccoli & green beans and pasta with a creamy white sauce. Hubs was pleased with his meal. Overall, the service was good, but not outstanding. I told my hubby after we finished that they probably just don't specialize in southern Italian dishes (with red sauce) because so many of the menu options were creamy or cheesy or butter/white wine sauce. If we decide to give them another try, I'd definitely stick to one of the white sauce options.

It is situated in a beautiful space under the trees and white lights adorn the exterior. When you approach the entrance, there are outdoor diners, enjoying themselves and when you enter, you can take a left into a very cozy bar area in its own building to the left. If you turn right, it will take you to the hostess stand and the traditional dining room. On the first evening, we enjoyed sitting at the bar. The bartenders are extremely busy yet make you feel welcome and know their menu and drinks very well. The service was exceptional, as was the food. We enjoyed a salad with mahi and delicious cocktails, and wine selection. On our second visit, we sat in the main dining room. This was as enjoyable as the bar, but a little bit more private. The server was well-versed in the menu and was able to provide helpful suggestions. The meal was well timed and the service was exceptional from all staff. We enjoyed the duck and the triple tail/scallops. I also had a cup of sheet crab soup and found it to be the best version on the island. While this restaurant is not cheap, it is extremely well priced for the quality of the food and the sides and salad that a company most dishes. I'm looking forward to returning to Hilton Head specifically to eat here. What an enjoyable experience!
