Do not go here. It is unclean and gross. First and last time. The male nail technician cut my right big toe just above cuticle. Was watching and thought he was being a bit aggressive and then noticed quite a bit of blood. He said sorry and I told him to stop cutting. But he proceeded to attempt to cut my other big toe. I had to pull my foot away and say No. Under the dryer I noticed blood seeping around the nail as it was still bleeding. The manager proceeded to put some blue liquid on it and reassure me that it happens. The nail technician also said I had a lot of cuticle. At age 51 I've had plenty of pedicures and this has never happened. And I don't care how bad the cuticles are (considering I had a pedicure a month ago, they couldn't be that bad), you can't cut someone and make them bleed! Just hope I don't get an infection. I do not like to give negative reviews, unless it is very well deserved and I have given the business more than one opportunity to show how they really do business. I have been to Venus nails 4 times. All for mani/ pedi , just mani and also eyebrow waxing. Each and every time, the owner did not even acknowledge that I was there. No "hello", no "can I help you ?" , nothing! The techs, who are busy helping other clients eventually ask, " what do you need?". I do not fault them, they are doing their jobs, in my mind it is for the owner of the business to set the tone and greet clients. The services I received, were average at best, the mani chipped after 12 hrs. I will not be going back, the lack of respect to her clients speaks for itself. read more

I go here fairly often as I live here in the summer, but I'm dying for a better salon. I would give this 3 stars for the women employees and 2 for the men. Honestly I don't care so much what my toes look like but I always go for the spa pedicure to get the foot massage. I just want a relaxing experience. Never have gotten that here but at least the women try. My experience with the men is this: 2 years ago I was getting their top-of-line pedicure and the stylist had another employee hold up his iPhone while he watched a soccer game and did my nails at the same time. Today, he never did the callous removal and he chattered constantly the entire time. I couldn't tell who he was talking to in Korean because no one else was really paying attention to him. Will never go here again. Paid $50 for gel nails that I pay $36 for at home. No hand massage or any work on my cuticles. Straight up remove color, fill, paint. See you later. Walked in to get my eye brows done.. mind you this is my second attempt with this location for a good outcome and I wish I never walked in the door and just took the extra 15 mins to go to millsboro. My eyebrows are very visibly uneven and I have wax stuck on my eyelid making it hard to close my eye. Now it's back to regrowing them out yet again to have them done correctly. As a woman I'm sure you can understand me being upset. I have to walk out in public with these eye brows now. My left eye brow looks untouched while my right eye brown has no arch left and half of it is gone.. off to Walgreens to buy an eyebrow kit. Never again! This is my warning to the next potential customers. I have family that lives in the area. Down visiting for a few days and needed to get my nails done. Took well over an hour and half for a gel manicure. I had a dip manicure on prior (been getting that done for about 2 years in NJ now) to remove it you just have to wrap it for a few minutes and it comes right off. I had to sit with my hands in a bowl of acetone for 45 minutes before my manicure even started. The girl I started with left me to do a pedicure and I ended up getting my manicure from someone else. That is why I am giving 3 stars. She was great. I would go back to her for another gel mani. I am unsure of why I paid what I paid though. The nail market isn't a saturated here as it is where I am from but it was still rather pricey for what I had done. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!! i went here because the place i usually get my nails done was closed and me and my friend needed to get our nails filled and painted. The guy that did my nails was very rude the whole time. When i left i noticed that most of my nails were either crooked or the gel paint was sloppy. i was not satisfied with the way my nails looked at all but i brushed it off and let it go. the NEXT DAY most of my nails started breaking off like paper, i was very upset so the next day i went in and told them what had happened and the younger girl understood what i was saying and was very nice. than the manager who is a women comes over and tells me that i have must have done something to make my nails fall off like that and that it was my fault. i asked if i could have my money back and i would get my nails done somewhere else. they laughed in my face told me it was my fault and they do not do refunds. the manager walked away laughing and they all started talking mad crap about me. this place terrible. it was huge waste of money and a waste of my time i wish i never stepped foot in the door. my friends nails also fell off and were done very sloppy in the first place and she was very unhappy. read more

i wouldnt even rate them 1 star. customer service is terrible. thought a $70 stone massage sounded nice while on vacay. she made the rocks so hot she couldnt even use them straight on my skin. so i got a half-assed massage through a dry washcloth. saw her put back the lotion that came with the upgraded pedi.. and instead used the same lotion they used on everyone else. when i went to pay they some how managed to add on $25 to put gel on which looked like a child did it. 100% WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND. read more

This evening, around 5 pm, I was looking for a place that did waxing. I was so happy to see the store open, as all the salons I passed on Coastal Highway were closed. I walked in and the lady asked me if she could help me. I said I needed waxing done. She said there would be a little wait. I told her I would wait. 10 minutes later, I was asked to come in the back. When I walked to the back of the store, she asked me to sit in the chair. I told her that how could she do leg waxing in the chair and that too with all these people watching. She apologized saying that she thought I wanted my eyebrows waxed. I told her that I wanted a full leg waxing. She asked for a few minutes. I told her that I could wait. 15 minutes later, I was called to the back of the store, this time to a room. The room had a bed, where 5 blue towels were placed on it. The girl asked me if I wanted leg waxing. I said yes, full leg waxing. She asked me if I wanted from my ankle to my thigh. I told her yes. She said okay sit down. I asked her if she would shut the door. She said it's okay, but if I wanted it shut, she would. I said I would want it shut. I asked her for a bed sheet to cover me. She said it's okay. She did not mind if I did not mind. I told her that yes, I did mind and I would like a bed sheet to cover me, while she was working on one leg. She said she did not have a bed sheet, but could give me a towel. I asked her if the towels were hand towels - like the ones on the bed and she smiled. I told her that I was sorry and I walked out of that place. I have never been in a creepy place like that before! read more

I wish I could give this place no stars. Worst. Nail. Experience. Ever. I am on vacation and am 29 weeks pregnant with twins and was hoping for some pretty nails and pampering. Nope. The woman who did my nails was very rude, never a smile or how are you. She was on her phone having a conversation WHILE doing my nails. Flies kept landing on me and were all over the place. The son of one of the employees has sitting there with a fly swatter trying to get the flies. After my gel manicure the same boy was instructed to wipe my nails off instead of the nail tech. I was sitting there with alcohol dripping off my hands with no towel. Also the same nail tech saw me struggling to get the foam things off from between my toes and just watched me. (I have a twin size beach ball baby belly!) The polish on my toes is very sloppily done and I am not sure it will even last the rest of the vacation. Took my daughter to Venus Nails for a French manicure. I sat up front and read a magazine, so didn't see her nails until she was sitting at the drying table. I was shocked to see that her nails were jagged, uneven, and there was paint on the sides and tips of her fingers. The white part of the French manicure was very crooked...not straight and crisp as it should be. I alerted the co-owner who did the manicure and told her that it was unacceptable and that the job looked unprofessional. She had a major problem with the term "unprofessional" although I don't know how else I would describe her manicure. She went on a 2-3 minute tirade about how she has been doing nails for 20 years and that I had hurt her feelings and told me not to ever say that again! She aggressively removed the polish, and ordered my daughter to "Go pick color!". Thankfully, the male co-owner took over at this point and did correct the problem and apologized to me. I would advise anyone wanting a professional quality manicure to avoid Venus Nails. First and last experience with this filthy, family farce of a salon. My adult daughter and I needed peds and this place was very close to my new home. Mom and dad (owners never acknowledged our entry and we were eventually seated and serviced by their two teenage daughters. The two young sons helped with filling bowls. Nice to see a family working together but aren't nail techs licensed in DE? My ped was poorest I've ever had by a young woman who barely smiled. Very disappointed with my service at Venus Nails! They only take cash or check for one thing, which was quite annoying I had to go next door to giant to get cash out which cost an extra $4. I asked for some kind of discount since I was getting waxed and my nails painted- they refused which I was annoyed about but understood but I received a terrible waxing job, my eyebrows look worse than before and my nails are crooked and uneven the lady was rushing through them. She had a nasty tone of voice and treated me like I was an inconvenience to service. Also, she would not get off her phone! Frequently she would stop in the middle of painting to answer a text. I would just be sitting there, it wasn't like she was waiting for them to dry for the next step either. Run away!! Horrible service, they kept saying, "only ten minute wait" but I waited for 45 minutes soaking before someone came to attend me. She was rough and never looked at me. Then she worked on two other people while doing my manicure. The manager of the place was rude and when my friends nails didn't look right she said that that's how they are supposed to look. Awful! We had an appointment but they didn't honor it at all. Also my mom's manicure took less than 10 mins. The man who did the manicure sped through it but still charged for a full manicure. He also did my nails which took about 30 mins because he kept stopping to do something else. He would go to 2 eyebrow waxings and then 10 mins later come back to finish my nails. My mom and I both had polish changes on our toes and they charged $3 extra for cutting the toe nails but didn't tell us when doing our nails. COMPLETE ripoff! I will never go back. If you want a half-ass pedicure this is the place to go. The water was barely warm, my massage chair was turned on at the very end of my pedicure. I received a half-ass massage, half-ass file, and a half-ass paint job that my 3 year old nephew would have done. The girl that did my pedicure painted all over my toes and some toes weren't even painted completely. She half the time wasn't even looking at my feet. And for $28 it's a complete rip off. So if you have 30 minutes for a pedicure and you don't mind your feet looking as if a 3 year old did the job, this is your place. Will never go back and no one I know will be going there as well. I recommend avoiding this place. We went and asked for 2 manicures and pedicures and 1 manicure. They started my pedicure and had my friend soak her feet. She waited 20 minutes and someone only started after she asked and then complained the whole time about how she didn't have a lunch break. The water was cold and they claimed to be out of hot water. My polish looked awful when done- not covering all of the nails on some toes but on the skin around. They fixed some but not all. They forgot that I wanted a manicure and told me to sit while several other pedicures were started. My friend who was just getting a manicure was still waiting. When I asked how long the wait would be for each of us, they said they didn't have many people who could do manicures, so we would have to go one after another. Since the third friend was also still waiting for her manicure, we told them to forget it. The pedicure barely got rid of any dead skin and had a very short massage. Worst pedicure I've had in a long time. We were there over an hour and left with only 2 bad pedicures! Plus, it is more expensive then the places I go in Bethesda and there is a little yappy dog running around. Do not bother to go here. read more

Gross. Being greeted at the door by a cute but dirty dog should have been enough of a sign but I was desperate to have my toes done for our week at the beach. Very cool high tech pedicure chair with amazing massaging was overshadowed by the hair ball that stuck to my foot when I pulled it out of the water bath. As I was soaking my feet, another nail tech threw some kind of fizzy disinfectant in the water. Probably a good thing. The nail tech who did my feet could not have cared less about what she was doing. She pulled her implements out of a raggedy old washcloth rather than a sanitized sealed bag like they do in my home salon. No apologies for the hair that was stuck to me or for getting polish all over my Tory Burch flip flops. Now I get to remember the nasty pedicure every time I wear them. Cheap knock off polish that they used lost its shine before I even left the salon. Lastly, though my husband has amazingly clean and tidy feet for a guy, I am sure the lady who sat down after him did not realize that they had not cleaned the bowl in between. Would never go back to this salon and felt compelled enough to register on yelp just to warn others. read more
