I've been using K & S Nail salon for quite some time. I get a friendly greeting when I open the door and Scott,owner, who I use for my gel mani and a ped is always on time. I'd say the longest wait time is 5 minutes. This nail salon honors appointments. My nails are well done and either a spa ped or a regular ped are right on! To start things off- as I was waiting for my appointment a previous client came in to complain about their nails and demanded a refund. That should have been my first warning sign. My second warning sign was that the nail station was not cleaned AT ALL between clients. He used the same files, same dusty nasty towel, etc. That's honestly disgusting, that's how people get fungus, not to mention we are still in the middle of a pandemic. my biggest issue was the acrylic application. He rushed through the entire process and cut my cuticle area 3 times in the process. The nails are so bulky, and bulbous and not at all the shape I wanted. They're also VERY curved. Overall just not a good experience. Don't get me wrong, everyone there was very nice, but the quality of work was not worth the price. Will not be going back here again. read more

She said don't touch the water and don't worry about it being hot, even though we had a young girl with us that said the temp was very very hot. Worst manicure in my entire life! Let me start from the beginning. I went to the salon, two days ago and had a mani and pedi, which cost me a total of $52. There were two men at the salon that were available for services when I entered. When I was Yale. Back for my pedicure, the water was cold, and the man was extremely rough and seemed in a rush to get the service completed. Then, when take. To the table for my manicure, the man Never bothered to put lotion or cuticle oil on my hands and nails, and given the COVID 19 situation, thinking they may want repeat business, he did not offer any massaging of the hands and arms. I am very disappointed with the services provided. As soon as I returned home, the manicure began to chip. I am retired, and not hard on my hands. In the past, manicures would always last at least two weeks. As you can see In the picture, on my vacation, two days later, my manicure is destroyed, and I am left of vacation with this mess on my fingers. I was hoping to not have to worry about my nails for a few weeks, and I feel like I have to go get them fixed immediately, while on vacation, and spend more money, than I already have. I have been a patron of KS Nails for five years, but was concerned about returning since the coronavirus. I am happy to say that Scott, the owner of KS Nails, has been very proactive in assuring that his salon is safe. Scott and his staff have all taken a Barbisol online training class and their certificates of completion are hanging proudly in the salon. Upon entering the salon, my temperature was taken, I was instructed to wash my hands, and I signed a waiver indicating I would comply with the restrictions placed on me - specifically wearing a mask in the salon. There were only two other customers in the shop and we were positioned far away from each other. We all purchased individual manicure tools, including emery board, toe separators and pumice stones. We store these at our own homes. Scott has installed plexiglass dividers that separate the nail technician and customer for both manicures and pedicures. Additionally, the chairs for waiting have been removed and the area where patrons were sat close to each other waiting for polish to dry have been removed. I felt very comfortable at KS and I am grateful Scott has gone to such lengths to protect me and his staff. I will return and encourage my friends to come back. read more

I would just like to start off by saying that today is Sunday which is supposed to be my day of worship. It shouldn't be a day for me to be going out and giving man my money. I should've been home spending time with my God, but my birthday is coming up and this was the only day that I could do my nails before then. Maybe this is why this day didn't go as well as I would've liked. The technician I had I am not sure what his name was, but he had long hair and was rude to me during my visit. I am not sure why workers have an issue with someone telling them what they like and don't like, but apparently this guy didn't like when I said anything to him. I simply said to him I would like my nails to be short because I am a healthcare provider and I can't have nails that are too long. I have been to other nail salons and I've been told that I can't get my nails too short. That's why I told him I need them to be short. He says to me that is easy I can do that, that is not a big deal (he says it as if he is annoyed). I say ok. Then he applies the tips to my nails (I got a full set) and on one of my nails he accidently glues two nails together. I mention it to him and he says it's ok like that I can fix it. Then I said to him I want you to remove the two nails that you glued together I don't want it left like that. Then he catches an attitude and says I will fix it don't worry about it. After that I don't say anything else to him. He wasn't very sanitary either I noticed he kept using a brush to clean the countertop surface and then he would clean my hands when I caught on to what he was doing I told him it was ok he didn't have to dust my hands. As a customer you have a right to voice your concern because in the end it's money that is coming out of your pocket. I am not a confrontational person and that tech was lucky because if I was I would have giving him something to really have an attitude about. worst mani pedi ever and at $20 more than going rate. Prices were not posted on board and did not know it was so high ($75 for Gell mani and a pedi). Worst park was the job was poor quality - they forgot to put on clear top coat on toes, and polish started chipping/peeling after one day. The gell mani was poor also - not smooth. Main started chipping after 1 week. I went away and had to go to another salon to for a mani/pedi. On top of this the guy was rude. Will never go again! What happened? I've been coming here for three years and yesterday's visit was insane. I won't go back. Jimmy did a gel manicure for me and when he started applying my color, I told him it wasn't the color I chose. He persisted in applying in, telling me that my color needed this other color to turn out the way I wanted. As he went on, I told him it wasn't how I wanted it. Scott yelled at him telling him to do what I wanted; Jimmy started arguing with Scott telling him he was using the color I picked (he wasn't). This went on uncomfortably. My nails looked like a 5 year old did them, with thick, lumpy application, gel under my fingernails and applied on top of my cuticles. He didn't shorten my nails the way I asked and didn't shape them the way I asked. When I told Jimmy I wasn't happy with how they looked, he argued with me, telling me he had to use another color, that it was "just common sense". I asked him why he wouldn't just have a conversation with me and ask me instead of applying something else that I didn't want. Scott told him to apologize, which prompted more yelling and arguing between them, and Scott telling Jimmy that he "always does this". Kim offered to redo my nails, but I declined. The whole situation was so uncomfortable that I just wanted out of there. I said I would pay and just leave. There were other customers and it was the day before Christmas Eve. I paid and wished everyone a peaceful holiday. It was awful. I've never had an experience like this anywhere. read more

I visited this salon on two occasions. Both times the guy who gave me a manicure was in a big rush. The second time, there was polish on the cuticles and bubbles on the nails. Friends who came with me also had bad experiences. They did not get the service that they requested. Of course, regular customers are favored in many salons. First impression was created when I saw tons of cigarette butts and trash outside the front door. I should have turned around and left right then. My pedicure was awful. There was not cuticle trim.
