Very horrible and picky! I dont want to say 'racist' but call a spade a spade. I went to get my nails and toes done for my birthday...i had my mom with me as well. I called to make a reservation but they told me I was fine to come in. I ask 3 times 'are you sure?' because I am definitely hip to how the shore areas are around Labor Day (jam packed and busy), but she insisted i get there. Literally drove 8mins from a previous nail salon to OC Nails. Walked in and made them aware that I was the one that called and I would like to get nails and toes service. NOW, i need a reservation. I asked how long, she said 2 hours!! How it go from 'just come in!' to 'oh, its a 2 hour wait!' I was so heated because there was no other place to go! Thank God for this sweet gentlemen who was there to keep his wife company...he gave up his reservation for me and he kindly told me Happy Birthday! I went to the OC nails on 118th street. I got dip taken off and that was pain to get off so I understand the charge to get that removed but my nails are in so much pain. They didn't remove my cuticles good and they're blood shot red and in pain. The paint job was horrible and rushed. My sister got gel and it doesn't even feel like gel. After twenty minutes of waiting I asked how much longer after seeing a woman who came on after me go ahead of myself and another woman who was here before me. Was asked what I was having done. No reply to my question. When my question was answered. All I can say is WOW! The response I received was boarder line if not over the line rude ? I leave that as a question since he seems to be stressed out. Stating this since he told me he was stressed out at least twice. One thing I do know is when I am asked a question at my job. I am to reply to the customers in a quick and friendly manner. Not treat with disrespect for asking a question. I do hope they find more staff to help re-leave the str of the staff working here now. OMG, so happy that I found Connie and her staff.They are so good at what they do. I was hesitant about going to a beach salon, but felt relaxed when I walked in. They said they didn't take appointments, but at least a half dozen others walked in after me and they served them before me. Actually, no stars given. My friend who is recovering from a car accident that impacted her arm was turned away for service yesterday. She's had manicures post-accident before as there is nothing that impedes getting one! A staff person took significant time to stare at her arm and then turned her away saying, "We can't help you". Not, "Please make an appointment for another time," nor, "Can you come back later today at 1 (or whenever)?", if they were too busy. Unacceptable. I would give this place negative stars if I could. I went to this place to get an acrylic fill on 7/19/21. The lady was hurting my fingers to the point of tears, she cut the acrylics down to my finger tips after telling her I didn't want them that short, then rounded them after telling her I wanted them square. She refused to do a nail half one color half another because she was lazy. My acrylics were lumpy, thick, poorly painted, oddly shaped, and looked like a 6 year old did them. I was so upset that I went back the next day to get them fixed. She refused to fix them so I decided to have them taken off as the easiest option. She then said I didn't have to pay to get them taken off, and I asked for a refund of my $40 because I had them on for less than 24 hours and they were done terribly. She said she would give me back $25 for the cost of taking them off. As I was walking out, I realized she hadn't even taken all the acrylic off the nail. Attached is also a picture of my stinging, bleeding fingers that I also walked out with. The owner and tech were ignorant, rude, and terrible. I would never come here if you gave me a million dollars. Don't waste your money, all they care about is money and your business, they don't care what your nails look like or whether or not you are BLEEDING. it is not just the nail tech, it is the owners as well so don't even waste your time. I would give this place a ZERO if I could. I called on Friday evening and asked for an appointment at their convenience so I would not have to wait. Kenny told me tho be there at 9:00 when opened. I arrived at 8:55. (Door open and 93 degrees heat wave). Kenny, one employee and 3 customers were there. One employee told me to sit in a chair and soak my feet. I know this trick and have waited as long as 30 minutes soaking. I said no thanks, I will wait until an employee arrives. At 9:05 two employees walked in. I then began to walk to my chair. At this point Kenny started laughing at me and said, "you must not ever go to restaurants. Because if you did you would have to wait." I made an appointment for two pedis and a manicure (dip) I arrive with my daughter and they looked confused. They only had me down for one pedicure, no mani. They squeeze her in and get someone to do my nails. The experience was nice. The chairs are new, the guy who did my nails was very funny.....however, my nails were so uneven and thick and he used a gel topcoat and put me under the UV lights!!!! What?!?!? My nails felt sticky until I could get them off. All of the topcoat cracked and peeled off by the end of the next day. You don't use gel topcoat and over powder! Garbage. Straight garbage. read more

I have to update "my" review because my 21 yo daughter made an appointment for acrylics and gel pedicure over the phone a few days prior and when she showed up at her appointment day/time, they told her they don't take appointments. She isn't assertive so she didn't say anything but then waited a full hour to get in a chair. The designs on her nails turned out well but there was a lot of difficulty in trying to get her tech to get her thumbs to look as good and she left unhappy with the the result. I feel like teens/young adults aren't taken seriously at nail salons in general - they pay the same prices adults do, but maybe they don't typically tip well, IDK but I wish I had gone with my daughter that day because I'm sure she would have been treated better with an "adult." Stopped in on a Friday morning for a pedicure and had a great experience! My nail technician was nice, thorough and gave an amazing foot/lower leg massage. She did a great job carefully painting my nails and making sure I liked them! While the price is a little higher, it's expected for a vacation town and worth it for the great experience.
