Rude and unprofessional staff. I was late (10 minutes) to an appointment (it is Memorial Day weekend, raining and traffic is terrible). I walk in, I am not greeted, my manicurist took another client and rolled her eyes. The other employee jumped in and said well you're ten minutes late. I have been to Maxim a handful of times, three times I have received a call to reschedule my appointment to an earlier time. I am not sure why the client schedules the appointment based off the times available to be called during work hours to reschedule. Your hours are not accommodating to people who work for a living. Also, why do I schedule my appointment for you to call and ask for a change. When you are in the service industry, being respectful goes a long way. read more

Decided to get nail extensions for the first time in about two years and was so excited. The manicure was great and my natural nails looked amazing. But the extensions are horrible. I told her i wanted almond and she insisted round which was fine. But every nail is a different shape/ crooked/ different length and the gel is lumpy and thick. If you're looking for a manicure i recommend, but not extensions. read more

I called ten days ago for an appointment and was told I could have my choice of times this morning. I chose 9:00. But when I arrived (after driving 20 miles to get there from my home) I was told they had cancelled my appointment to do someone else! Really!?!? They claimed they called and left me a message which, of course was not true or I wouldn't have driven 20 miles to get there! They made no apology or even any attempt to reschedule me. She just kept repeating she had to do someone else! Not a good way to treat a new customer! Of course, I'll never go back there and advise you not even to try! read more

This place is amazing! They don't do fake nails which I had never heard but thankfully I have nails. They did an impeccable job on my gel manicure. I got it 2.5 weeks ago and no chipping or lifting. I wish they were in Florida because I would certainly visit regularly! read more

I had made an appointment at 10:30 for a pedicure and gel manicure. I arrived a few minutes early to pick out my colors. It was 10:45 and I was still waiting. Turns out the person who was suppose to do my nails wasn't answering her phone and just never showed up. Very unprofessional. I get things happen, but she could have let some one know so that they could contact me and tell me not to bother coming in. I was very disappointed. Don't bother making appointments there. Luckily, OC nails in Ocean City was available to take me in on the spot and I was very pleased with their work! Called for a pedicure appointment and was immediately seated when I arrived. The price for a pedi was $35, a bit more than I pay in Pittsburgh (home town), but very in line with other salons in the area. The difference here? The salon is beautiful. V clean and well appointed. This place has been open for a few months but I finally got around to going here with my mother in law for a pedicure (me) and a manicure (her). The place is beautiful inside.. and very clean. They did an excellent job on both of us... the pricing is a little weird... the manicure seemed incredibly inexpensive while the pedicure seemed a bit more expensive than you would expect. Usually a pedicure in this area is around $23-$25.. and this was I think $30. And the manicure was like $16? Strange. Either way, its been 3 weeks and my pedicure still looks great but I will be returning soon for another. Good location as well since there is plenty of parking and you don't have to go all the way to OC to get a good job. read more

They are advertised that they're open until 8pm however I got there at 7:30 and they said they were closed!? I mentioned that they advertise they are open until 8pm and the lady said that they take their last client at 6 PM because it takes 2 hours to clean!!! Crazy!!! Just say you close at 6pm! RUDE!! There was a miscommunication about whether this salon had acrylics that led to 1 out of 2 appointments to be cancelled. I was still planning on keeping my appointment of gel manicure and pedicure however the blonde girl working would not let the misunderstanding go and continued to rant to her customer at the moment about the issue then rant to the other worker about this issue in front of my face very aggressively. She then continued her rant by claiming that someone called for an appointment but she couldn't book it because they were full due to these 2 appointments yet they could barely keep up with the 4 people in their nail salon where all the appointments at the time were the same time as me. Sorry misunderstandings happen and as a customer I did not feel comfortable getting my nails done by someone so bitter over a minor issue. The other girl working was very sweet but this blonde girl was so rude I had to leave. Her behavior resulted in cancelling the 2nd appointment (mine). Would not go here when there are tons of different nice salons in the area with better staff and can handle the appointments they have. I wanted to try this place but I'll be telling all my friends never to go here. Cannot say enough how rude this staffer's demeanor was ( p.s. I made a yelp just to write this review). read more

This is my favorite nail salon. It is spotlessly clean and does not smell of acetone at all. Spa like atmosphere with nice music, and no one yelling and chattering back and forth like so many salons.
