The server was very nice, the manager was not happy at all. Kept on asking if we had a reservation and we did not. We got a table but had 1 hour to eat before the reservation was coming in. It took a long time to get the food and we were watching the clock. Before the food came out, we asked for the check and our food to go. We got home and my food was wrong (shame on me for not looking but we were on the clock). When you spend almost $100.00 on food and get rushed and the food is wrong, that means poor management and ownership. This was my first and last time going to this restaurant. read more

I've been to Venice a couple of times now. Located in the downtown area of LaGrange near other restaurants and quaint shopping boutiques, Venucci offers street parking, or a parking lot available behind the business, accessible from Lafayette Street. I enjoyed the walk to the restaurant from the nearby hotel as the downtown is very nice. The interior is very nice with a dining area in front and a more private dining experience behind the kitchen. You are seated immediately and drinks are quickly on the table. There are specials at lunch and for the evening meal, changing daily. Previously, I have had the mussels. Absolutely fantastic. This time I was here for lunch and had the blackened chicken salad. It was HUGE and absolutely wonderfully seasoned. The dressing was their own red, bleu cheese. Delicious.. The price is reasonable and you will not leave hungry. Service was excellent. I can't wait to come back when I am in Lagrange again. read more

Don't get cat-fished... This restaurant is nothing like as advertised. None of the food had flavor. Ex.. Bland soupy Alfredo sauce. Emily our server seemed to be doing her best, but Venucci's appeared to lack leadership. Ex.- Our waitress had to make our drinks. You could tell she was not a bartender. The manager Theresa is very assertive, but customer service is not her priority. Ex- She became, confrontational with another group, and even leveraged us against them for an apology because they were complaining about the horrible food, and the 4% debit card fee that is not mentioned anywhere on the website. It's a trap essentially. They charge exhorbent prices for Italian food that Olive Garden is better than. When you question their tactics they try to strong arm you. You have to walk through the kitchen to get to the bathroom. This place needs alot of work. read more

We had reservations at another restaurant, but switched within an hour of our 6 p.m. time. Venucci was very accommodating. We were able to walk from our hotel to the restaurant (on a Saturday evening). They were starting to fill up, but were able to seat us on time. There is a small front seating area and a larger rear seating area. We had only a short wait. We were seated at a small table in the rear area. The restaurant is a bit dark, but nice. The online menu is more extensive than the in-house version, from what we could tell. Our server was attentive and friendly. The food was good. We both enjoyed our pastas. I had no particular complaints. The overall vibe is not 'fine dining' but somewhat upscale. I'd consider returning if I were again in LaGrange at dinner time. read more

Just happened to stumble upon this place while in Lagrange, I ordered the chicken Alfredo. I will say it is good, it could've been really good if it had a but more seasoning but I just added my own and it was perfect. Warning they do charge 4% percent if you're using a card so beware. I can truly say I don't remember ever having a better experience at any restaurant, anywhere. We called ahead to a restaurant next door (Brickstone Grill), arrived and were given a 30 min wait estimate, which was no big deal. We had a party of 5 adults and 8 kids. We waited an hour (it was 830) by that time and after much coercing, had to talk them into seating us. They told us they could seat us but we couldn't order "because the kitchen was behind". What? This was a manager-on-duty issue. We tried to talk with her (Brandy) but it was clear she didn't have any interest in fixing the problem. We asked if we could get seated and at least order the kids food and they said yes. We sat down and waited 10 minutes while wait staff, hostesses, and management walked by without acknowledging us. So, we decided to leave. We called Venucci because they were next door and Yelp said they were closing in an hour. They said they were actually closing in 30 minutes but "come on in and we will take care of you". That alone deserves 5 stars, but they welcomed us in, fed us AMAZING authentic food, took care of us with perfect service from Amanda, and we dropped over $300 + at least a 25% tip. Whoever is managing Venucci and contributing to the success of this place is truly contributing to LaGrange. I can't say enough about this place! The calamari, cheese sticks, stuffed mushrooms, salmon, spaghetti, fettuccini Alfredo, Marsala, and more were absolutely spot on. Can't wait to come back!!! read more

We came from Montgomery, AL to spend 3 nights at Great Wolf Lodge and found this restaurant near by. It is so delicious here that we ended up eating twice. The artichoke appetizer is so amazing. Caeser salad has just perfect amount of dressing and so good. Shrimp & scallop fradiavolo was really yummy although the paste is a little over cooked for our liking... but overall the food here is so good and their portions are really big!! Definitely the best Italian food I have tasted after the best Italian restaurants in NYC. Italian food in the US can be disappointing but we were very happy here. Definitely will be back when we visit GWL. We hope you open one in Montgomery!! (Please!) read more

This place is darling once you walk in. In an old building that goes all the way back. Servers were great! However, there are no gluten free options. No GF pasta or bread. (One can only eat so much spinach) We had a salmon dish that was good -but again we had to have spinach with it. We also had the veal parm-which was 1/2 grizzle. Not very appealing to have to spit out every other bite :(. Also the bathrooms are on the other side of the serving area so you walk right by the open vat of Lettuce. Didn't really want a salad after seeing that. We did tell them about the veal parm and they offered a pittance of reimbursement -we were basically eating plain sauce on pasta without it. We said no-and they paid for 1/2 of it. Still a very expensive meal. read more

Probably my favorite restaurant in Lagrange. The food is awesome my personal favorite is the chicken carbonara tortellini. The bread and herbs are great and lots of great appetizers like the french onion soup. Service is always pretty quick and the waiters are very formal and helpful. This is been my favorite place for Italian in LaGrange for years. But the quality has gone up and down - especially down during a time when the owner spread himself too thin and was running several restaurants. But I have always said that Venucci at its worst was better than Olive Garden at its best. I'm happy to say that they are back on top, and possibly better than ever. Tonight I ordered the shrimp and scallops fra diavolo - and it was amazing. Extremely spicy, the way I like it. Large scallops and shrimp, and huge chunks of Italian tomatoes. Visited Venuccis for dinner while in LaGrange. Restaurant was full which I took as a good sign for a Monday night. Waitstaff was a little overwhelmed with the crowd - waitress forgot to bring bread and my salad, so my pasta sat at the table a few minutes before I got to it. Salad dressings were amazing - all homemade. The waitress let me try all three! I ordered the Veal Melanzane and it was delicious. Pasta was Al dente and tomato cream sauce was wonderful. Before visiting, I read the menu online. The menu is large, which typically indicates that few items will be good because it's hard to cook so many things well. It is also difficult to keep so much inventory fresh. I also noticed much, if not 60% of the dishes had alfredo sauce. It is easier on the restaurant to only need one or two sauces, but my children do not like alfredo sauce or spicy sauce. Ordering was confusing. The wine menu and children's menu were physical copies, but the dinner menu required using our phones with QRL code. Other restaurants would use one or the other. It was confusing to have both. It is 2021. Dinner salads should be more than a pound of iceberg lettuce, the most boring of green, with large chunks of tomatoes. Most dinner salads at nicer places have spinach, romaine, etc with more interesting items such as roasted corn, strawberries, carrots, etc. Someone who actually eats salads should create their salads. I left 90% of my dinner, my salad, on the plate. I ran 20 miles that morning, so I was hungry and mad. My mother asked to have a dressing on her starter salad. They did not have it and then assumed that she did not want a salad at all. When everyone else's salads came out, my mother had to ask for her salad and then indicate which other dressing she did want. My husband ordered the filet with lobster. They did not have lobster and asked if crab could be a substitute. My husband if it came with a reduction in price due to lobster being more expensive and was told no, but then they asked if shrimp, a much cheaper substitute, could be used. Many items were out and many substitutions had to be used. Their fryer was down, so even more dishes were unavailable. To boot, without warning, when my husband went to pay with a credit card, was informed that an additional 4% would be charged. Credit cards typically only charge 2.5%. read more

Ok! Fun find on an adventure day date. Great atmosphere and staff was very friendly and welcoming. The owner came by and welcomed us. Nice personal touch. I ordered the chicken Cobb salad. I couldn't decide on the dressing ( all homemade) so I got a sample of three and all were amazing. Unique flavors! Will always order all three. The salad was huge and so fresh.
