Shelby and the rest of the staff were all very nice and attentive. There were so many good food choices that it took everyone a while to make their final decision -- Shelby was patient with us as we decided. The restaurant is big enough for everyone to have their own space with their dining party, but small enough to give a private dinner feel. I will definitely return to Venucci and recommend others try it out!

It was 1:30 on a Wednesday, and we were surprised to find the restaurant still full of customers; but there was a nice table for us. I'm always happy when a restaurant has several choices of wine and beer, a good assortment of appetizers, salads, main dishes and desserts. So far so good. We started with wine and a Caesar salad, followed by fettuccine Alfredo and chicken Marsala. The servings were so large, that despite our hunger, we took enough home for our dinner. The food was very tasty. And the restaurant is located in a historic building, with exposed brick, and displays racks of wine, and has a bona fide pizza oven. Note to self: must return to try pizza, the crab and shrimp dishes, and desserts!

The restaurant has a really warm, cozy atmosphere with candlelit tables and a relaxed but slightly upscale feel. It's the kind of place that feels perfect for a nice dinner out without being overly formal. We started with the crispy Brussels sprouts, which were packed with flavor and had that perfect crispy texture. Definitely a great way to start the meal. For the mains, we ordered the shrimp pasta and the steak with fries. The shrimp pasta was creamy and comforting, with perfectly cooked shrimp and a rich sauce that coated the pasta without feeling too heavy. The steak was cooked well and topped with a buttery herb sauce that added a lot of flavor. The fries were crispy and salty -- exactly what you want alongside a steak. We also had a couple drinks with dinner which paired really nicely with the meal and added to the relaxed vibe of the night. What really stood out though was the service. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and easy to talk to, and she actually chatted with us while we were eating which made the whole experience feel really welcoming. It almost felt like we were talking with family. Coming from California, that kind of warm and genuine interaction felt really refreshing. Overall, Ariccia made for a really enjoyable dinner while visiting Auburn. Between the cozy atmosphere, great food, and welcoming service, it's definitely a spot I'd recommend if you're in town and looking for a good Italian meal. If you go, I'd definitely recommend trying the Brussels sprouts and the shrimp pasta.

In my opinion, this has taken away some of the flavor that made them good. The chicken alfredo lacked flavor and was rather dry. The grilled chicken that was added to the pasta appeared unseasoned. You could get away with that if the pasta had flavor and wasn't dry, not the case here. Service was also lackluster. We received decent service up to the point of our food being served. She did not follow up with us for probably 15 minutes however. For $115 dollars, I expect high quality food and service. I will likely not go back for a while.

Linked the pork rinds with cheese dip, the other dips and chips or pita were also popular among our group. Pork chop Marsala was respectable and tasty. The short ribs that I first selected were not available. Ambiance was good for a work group. Apologies to everyone else, as we were probably loud enough to be annoying to surrounding diners. Deserts were very disappointing. Cream brûlée was so thin, the torched sugar crust was as thick as the custard. Service was not great. I requested soda water with lime and got no lime, when I asked for a refill and specified with lime this time, lime was provided. It is a convenient acceptable option for dinner when staying downtown LaGrange, but wouldn't go out of my way for it. I have eaten here many times in past years when staying downtown. In comparison it seems like they have adjusted their selection options for food and reduced servings to cut costs. The only beef available was a hanger steak. The bill for our group of 9 was about $600.

We were attending a concert in downtown Columbus, so I wanted to have dinner relatively close. This…read morerestaurant had been under construction the last time we visited, but it was a viable option this time. I made a reservation a month or so in advance (though it may be possible to get a table closer to your target date than that). We arrived just before our 5:45 p.m. reservation. It was bitterly cold that day, so I dropped my wife off and searched for parking. My advice: there seemed to be more spaces available on 1st Avenue north of the restaurant. I circled around some other streets first and found nothing. The restaurant itself is a somewhat narrow but deep space in its building. When you enter, the first room has the bar on the left and tables on the right. There is a secondary smaller room towards the back which was where our table was. Our waiter showed up and got our drink orders. There was an extensive list of specials and drinks, which was fine. I don't think we opted for them, but it was nice that they had a changing variety of dishes. As this was our first time here, everything was a novelty. I had some wine; the pours were average. I think the entrees came with salads, which were good. For the main dish, I had to decide between lasagna, spaghetti, and a mushroom ravioli + steak option. I went with the latter, and was pleased. The steak was just 4 oz, but that's fine given the overall dish. It was cooked well and tasty. The ravioli were good as well. I did not manage to finish them, but enjoyed them for lunch the next day. My wife opted for a fish dish which she also liked. We did not want to overdo dinner with dessert as we had a performance to attend. Otherwise, I'd have checked that out. The last thing I'll comment on is the music selection. They were featuring "Spanish guitar" covers of pop songs, but the mix was pretty eclectic - it included Beatles, CCR, the Theme from Forrest Gump, etc. I enjoyed it quite a bit, to the point that I emailed them to ask about it. It definitely wasn't just a generic background music stream! We are planning to attend another performance in Columbus later in the Spring, and I have already made a reservation to return to Mabella's.
