We got to Columbus, GA, after a day's worth of driving & exhausted. We wanted something quick but memorable. Caffe Amici is deceptive from outside, looking like a typical shopping center, run-of-the-mill themed restaurant. But it is nothing like that! Inside the fragrance of garlic and simmering past sauce let you know you are somewhere different than what you were expecting. The menu is eclectic but substantial of the traditional dishes are plentiful and worth exploring! I got the Gnocchi with a couple of meatballs and my Wife got the chicken in white sauce. Amici is a nice Italian restaurant situated near a busy road. It is nicely themed and feels like a family owns the business. This served as my wife's and my date spot for the month. Initially, we liked where we were seated (right by a wall, two chairs), until a 10+ person party came in and sat right across from us. It was impossible to hear my wife the entire date, and I kept having to ask her to repeat herself. For my food, I ended up choosing two appetizers and a dessert (spinach artichoke dip, mozzarella sticks, and tiramisu). The spinach dip was a huge portion. For the price, I think it is absolutely something to share with others. I really liked the chips it was paired with, and I thought it was very decadent. My only issue is that it had a lot of garlic. The mozzarella sticks were nice and crispy, but lacked flavor. And I loved the tiramisu and the insane amount of coco powder on it. I was able to split up my food between almost 3-4 meals. I would most likely return if I craved one of these items again, but perhaps would choose takeout due to the noise and our waiter choosing to be more attentive to other tables. Cafe Amici the only locally owned Italian restaurant in Columbus. We started off with the Florentine Cheese Dip. Spinach and artichokes in a cheese and garlic cream sauce. My granddaughter had Chicken Alfredo and I had Pescatore with Fra'Diavolo (devil's brother) sauce. Sautéed jumbo shrimp, scallops, bell peppers, olives, crushed garlic, basil and tomatoes on a bed of fettuccine. By far the best Italian in Columbus and as good as the best I've ever had. Old school perfection, located in a once thriving now partially empty strip mall, they didn't disappoint, Bread salad and entree were all delicious. Great service as well. If you are looking for authentic Italian food this restaurant is my #1 choice. The Entrees wake up your palate and makes you gasp in delight, seriously. The quantity will surely fill you up with plenty of extras to take home. The Bruschetta as an appetizer has a balsamic glaze that is addicting. The Rosa on the menu is scrumptious. The specials have not disappointed either. There is so many choices on the menu it is recommended to review prior to your visit. We have been 4 times this year and each time was worth it. It's not worth $19 and it cost an extra $6 to add chicken, but it was a very small amount. We were a group of 8 and one person didn't get their dish until almost everyone was already done eating. Went here for our anniversary dinner. All the glasses of wine we ordered were crisp and refreshing, and tasted exactly how they should be per each kind we ordered the sangria was flavorful and full. The Moscow Mule was very strong potent, but a very great mixed drink had all the flavors that you would want in a Moscow Mule same with the old-fashioned really stout worth the money . We ordered the scallop appetizer the scalp appetizer was very good just a little small portion but the spicy sauce with sublime it was presented a little unprofessional with the bread covering the scallops so we move the scalp for another photo which showed the true size of the scallops would've made. That better is more butter to the sauce to make a creamy element as well as larger scallops. I ordered the lobster ravioli, which was completely sublime. The major downfall was the portion paying close to $30 for five little ravioli is a bit ridiculous. However, the quality of food was there the butter sauce that was on it was not the greatest, but with the balsamic glaze, it really sent it over the top And you could tell that there was a lobster in the raviolis. Husband ordered the veal saltimbocca which he thoroughly enjoyed. Our waiter was very kind and allowing my husband to not get super salad, but said two sides. The mayor off thing was the meal did not look anything like the picture that was presented online. The roast of potatoes really had no flavor. They just tasted like potatoes in the oven. There was no butter no salt no pepper no nothing on them. The risotto was good not the greatest we've had but still there and he was overall satisfied with his meal. Our friend ordered the carbonara which tasted exactly like classic carbonara, except for it was very lacking in flavor. He had to use a lot of salt and pepper to bring the flavor to the dish, but the portion size was perfect. For dessert, we went on a wild hair and ordered but the ice cream desserts. The tiramisu was spot on with lots of depth of flavor and volume throughout the layers. The lemon cello cake was absolutely divine. Had the fresh taste as well as a balance portion. The star of the desserts, of course was the crème brûlée absolutely cooked to perfection amazing flavor to the custard with the perfect burnt sugar on top absolutely divine would order it by the gallon . The cannolis were good tasted like a classic Italian cannoli however, they are very small. The cream filling inside the cannoli was evenly balanced between sweet and fulfilling. The cheesecake was above standard really rich and creamy. The crust was easy to cut through highly recommend. Our waiter was very respectable kind allowed for substitutions for my husband, as well as gave us descriptions and what he would prefer would help me order my meal. It's great to have a waiter that truly knows the menu and knows what they're talking about. The scene of the restaurant is sort of confusing, very high-end menu and flavors and ambience. Let me preface with I am new to the Columbus food scene. I haven't gotten to try new many places yet. I have heard this place was excellent. Regardless, it is rare in life to find places where the food or truly made with love. I believe Caffe Amici makes their food with a passion you can taste. I had their Amatriciana and it was just perfect. It's a simple Roman dish. When done well, it is a blend of spices that creates a savory dish. My daughter sitting next to me ended up sharing it with me because of how well it tasted. It was warming to the soul (I am sure there will be a person reading this review may not understand what I mean by this, but when you have food that feeds something deeper than just baseline hunger you will understand what I mean) From their menu, it looks like they have some excellent seafood options. One person at our party got Salmon that look excellent. Top with chives and a creamy gravy. I almost wished I got that until I had my first bite. Overall the ingredients tasted fresh; I am interested to go back and try some of their other dishes. Our waiter is as polite. I believe the owner greeted us at the door when we walked in. (Had a slight accent and glasses). I can appreciate an owner who works the front lines of his restaurant. The restaurant itself was nice. It had been around since 1991 I believe. It was clean and well put together, It seems that money is being used to upkeep the place despite that it is in a supposedly dying shopping center. With the amount of people there on a Friday night, I think it is safe to assume they are not short of avid customers. I enjoyed my experience. I will be returning again, that is for certain. It's always good! This is a local place that is consistently delicious, over many years. The food is delicious, homemade and, you almost want to keep it a secret and not share! Lol I have tried several options: pasta Al forno w/angel hair instead of penne (personal preference,) alla panna, lasagna, spaghetti. The different sauces: marinara, bolganese, Rosa, Alfredo, alla vodka and the wine sauces. Shrimp are cooked perfectly, steaks are tender, and the pastas are always on point. There is a large selection of wine/spirits. Ambiance feels kind of fancy/romantic. Lunch is casual (shorts, blue jeans, t-shirts) and dinner is bit more classy. The dinner crowd is Sunday dress/semi-formal/date night attire... However, Not Required! If you were casual, scrubs, work ware: no one would think twice about it. Looks a bit fancy but NOT SNOBBY! We are so partial to Caffe Amici, that we go there for almost all special occasions as well as when ever we don't want to cook and want food we can rely on. First of all, they got old menu online, so price was above on 20%, time of waiting around 40 min.it has positive reviews so I didn't think that they will screw me with food, but they did. I was shocked when arrive home and open boxes. first I thought they messed up with boxes and gave me wrong one, but no, that's what they got,literally look like left over from some one else dinner plate. Absolutely burned steak with pasta, taste like coals. Pictures attached,and I paid for that over 50$ together with bred and extra sauces. What a wonderful family owned Italian restaurant! We had my daughter's graduation party here in their party room on Friday with 40 people. The chef was wonderful to help us plan a condensed menu so that when to food came out it was orderly and prompt for this many so nobody felt left out. The appetizers and desserts weee just as easy and EVERYTHING was fresh, delicious, and well presented. The wait staff made sure drinks stayed full as well as making sure nobody went hungry. I am so grateful that they made such a momentous event for my daughter special with everybody happy with their meals, beverages, and ambiance! It has been a few years since I've been, so I decided to try Caffe Amici due to a craving for Italian food. I had the Caesar salad, Chicken Marsala with steamed vegetables, and quite a few pieces of garlic bread. Everything was cooked perfectly with great flavors and seasoning. Grazi, the waitress was also 5 stars. She checked on our table at the perfect times without bothering us. The raspberry limoncello cocktail was also a highlight. I commend the 1 server Knoll (sp.?) available as he was handling about 12 tables all on his own without any of them waiting too long before being tended to. Welcome to the home of the blandest Italian food I have had in years. The limoncello cocktail was unappealing due to an unpleasant aftertaste. The salad was straight out of a spring mix box with one slice of tomato on the side. The house vinaigrette was good to eat but unappealing to look at. I had the baked penne. That was a mistake. Don't bother paying the extra dollar for the sauce...it didn't help the fact that the pasta was not seasoned and the entire dish was bland. The veal was so unappealing to look at that we didn't even finish our meal. How dare you charge 24.00 for a protein that looks like it was cooked by a 10 year old for an afternoon snack. The food server was very nice. Our food arrived and it looked great, I had the lasagna my wife had the baked ziti with meatballs. When I got halfway in my lasagna it was not hot or warm at best maybe room temperature. Then asked for more bread. This is really a 4.5 star review. I came here with coworkers while on travel to Ft. Benning and the food was still good. I had previously been here upon the recommendation from a co-worker. We were sat very quickly. It is great to come here given that there is gluten free pasta and that the sauces are gluten free. The downside is the garlic bread always comes out smelling amazing and I can't have it. It would be awesome to be able to have some gluten free bread or at least something to account for the lack of bread especially gicen that every meal comes with bread. Which I can't have. Our waitress was very attentive and made sure that our water stayed full. She apologized for forgetting my boss's appetizer and explained that she forgot and didn't even charge him. UNSAFE AND THEY DON'T CARE - DANGEROUS POSSIBLE LIFE ALTERING AND UNPLEASANT DINING EXPERIENCE!!! Tonight, my husband and I dined at Cafe Amici, and unfortunately, our experience was far from safe and satisfactory. We encountered a major issue food issue. My husband received a MENTAL SHRED in his ordered dish, tortellini Alla Pana!!! The metal shred was a thick as 3 staples wide!!! This not only posed a serious safety concern but also left me questioning the overall hygiene standards in the kitchen. I immediately brought it to the attention of the staff, and they were NOT surprised NOR quick to apologize and rectify our experience. The staff merely brushed pass the critically of this incident as if we shouldn't be concerned. Such an incident should never happen. We have patroned the cafe for over 15 years. We've treated the staff like family, sharing cake on birthdays and other family milestones over the years. Based on our history with the restaurant owner and staff, we very discreetly informed Noel of our life threatening discovery. Unfortunately, we were treated as if it was no big deal and the criticality of the object possibly causing a life threatening experience wasn't brought to their attention. Our history in and of itself should have at least been taken into account and the possible harm that could have been done to my husband if the metal was swallowed. This evening's visit left a lasting negative impression on what could have been not only an enjoyable meal but lasting community relationship. I want the owners to consider the brevity of our experience this evening and accommodate our family for enduring such a horrific event and a written apology. read more

I almost didn't walk into this place based on some of the reviews...but so glad I did. Super friendly, helpful staff....great wine...and excellent food. I sat at the bar...as I was by myself and in town for work and had work to do. Brittany was fantastic! I was there for a couple of hours...she let me work, checked on me the perfect amount of times...and the spinach and ricotta manicotti was absolutely fabulous! Delicious!! Noel was great and helped with suggestions and choices. We ordered the bruschetta $5 (very fresh and flavorful tomatoes) and calamari $10 for apps... I had the Rosa..$18 My gf had the stuffed chicken $16 I loved the rosa. It was phenomenal. Another review recommended it and it was an exceptional choice. The sauce is amazing. Visiting Columbus and stopped in for a Family Dinner on a busy Saturday night at 7:30pm. They were very crowded but accommodated our party of eight quickly. Kids loved fried Mozzarella. Pasta dishes were very flavorful. Parking is easy. Prices are fair. Food was all very fresh and plentiful. Did not have, but saw steaks that looked great at another table. I think if it had been sliced thinner it would have been better. We shared a house salad (it's huge) which was great lots of toppings.
