Great place, don't order Ribeye. Terrible cut, overcooked and still had to pay for this but they discounted it a little. The salad had brown wilted bits so I got charged an up charge for it and didn't touch it. Probably won't go back but I see why it's popular.

Overall the experience was extremely pleasant. We got there when it was packed and they said it was an hour wait, and it turned out to only be fifteen minutes. The drinks from the bar were really good. Our server was very attentive and always there when we needed him. The food was good and the pepper jelly was amazing. Only negatives were it was really tight inside and their waiting area is very small. Luckily they had a waiting area outside. The fried greenbeans really didn't have much flavor but it was only the thing lacking in flavor.

I really enjoyed the casual warmth with a touch of upscale. The staff were all friendly, the place seemed clean, and the food was pretty tasty. We were early birds so we didn't have to deal with a busy spot. The meatloaf sandwich was tasty but the Philly cheesesteak was definitely the winner!

Thank you yelp for recommending The Black Cow. We got in late last night for my son's "Turning Green" ceremony and this popped up. We got there late and it was super busy. They did take our phone number down so we could sit in the car which was nice cause it was cold. We all three tried different things. One ordered the crab cakes with fries and mac-n-cheese, one ordered artichoke chicken with mac and I ordered the Steakhouse Burger with pineapple casserole. Let me start off by saying that I'm picky about my pineapple casserole. My Mom made that every holiday and it is the best accompaniment to ham or turkey, but, always great as a dessert. This pineapple casserole had cheese in it which I'm not a fan of. I still ate it though, I just prefer no cheese. The burger was really good. Everyone else enjoyed their food as well. Our server was great. He was rocking it all evening cause they were packed. Excellent service.

Excellent service , nice comfy location in the heart of downtown Columbus. The front desk servers were friendly and accommodating. We had the coolest service. The food came out hot and delicious. Portions were good as well.

This is a cool restaurant and bar. Service is very friendly and helpful. Drinks are good. We started with the fried bacon. The crust was crispy and delicious. It could have been cooked longer for crispy bacon. Salad was ok. The meatloaf sliders were fantastic. The sauce and caramelized onions were amazing. They have a great selection of food.

I stopped by to kill some time after running into the owner a week ago while out dining. She was such a sweetie so I just had to. What I didn't know is that they promote wine down Wednesdays. I tried the fried bacon and couldn't finish it. I packaged it up to take home and realized today that it can't be microwaved for too long (*sniffs lingering scent of burned deliciousness). I plan to return and will try an entree. There are several menu items I look forward to trying in the near future (on Wednesdays).

Amazing delicious food, Fantastic service from Pria at the bar. The place was like a barn style inside large and open with about 6 seats at the bar..

The Black Cow is a popular answer when you ask for a suggestion for a great meal that does not disappoint in Columbus. Always busy so plan on a wait if you go during busy meal time hours. The menu offers a nice selection of entrees, sides, and appetizers everyone rave about. We have gone to The Black Cow many times over the years since it has opened and have never been disappointed. We love to try different menu options each time. It's a great spot to bring an out of town guest or for a date night. A great gem in Columbus!

My son and I went here after his Tirning Blue graduation. I had grilled salmon and green beans because I have a serious wheat allergy and can't have the food crossed. It was delicious and the staff were very nice.

I just recently did a pick up order at 'The Black Cow' and was sadly underwhelmed. I ordered 3 meals. The classic Cheeseburger, the Chicken and waffles with Mac and Cheese, and the fried pork chops with collard greens and Mac and cheese. Before discussing the food I want to address the pick up process. I went to pick up the food and was disregarded by staff. I approached the bar and attempted to pay and was brushed off and had to wait in favor of other customers. This was the erasure of their tip in real time. No eye contact, and placing payment on counter rather than hand. Very unfortunate. The food itself (please note it was a to-go order). The burger was good. Standard I ordered medium and it had a red center more of a rare but the flavor was there. Fries were nothing to rave over definitely from frozen. (Chicken and Waffles) The Chicken dry and could not spot a dash of seasoning. The bacon jam advertised was missing from the order completely, which possibly could have helped with flavor. Waffle was pretty standard no sweetness and no crisp but a good waffle. The Mac and cheese was the best item really cheesy and good texture on the noodles. Could use some salt and pepper but that's preference based. The fried pork chops were disappointing. The fried skin slid off and was saturated in the grease from onions and mushrooms. It was seasoned but the amount of grease left me feeling dipped in an oil drum. I think the idea of onions and mushrooms with no gravy as weird but could be executed way better. The greens were good, my first time having them with bacon bits but pork is pork. Mac again was the star. Portions are good also, great shell just missing some love and soul. Clean, industrial vibe.

Was told by my colleagues that the Parker house rolls and cinnamon butter was great. I had the summer salad (spring greens, cherries, strawberries, and a HUGE knot of burrata cheese, with an additional grilled salmon). This salad was incredible. Highly recommend! The table shared some deviled eggs. The pickled onions on the deviled eggs was so good. Everyone dipped their fries in the chili crisp oil and agreed it was one of the best flavor combos of the trip. Our server gave us an extra side of it and gave my friend a side of kimchi to add to his burger. Just great all around service and vibe. While the restaurant feels like the height of 2015-2020 design (let's road trip in our sprinter van to a shipping container cottage!), everything feels airy and good to be there

The hostess was warm and efficient, seating us immediately. Our server approached with the quiet confidence of someone who knows her craft--she was direct, professional, and all business in the best possible way. Even as closing time drew near, she kept my glass refreshed without needing to be asked, a small but telling detail that spoke volumes about her attentiveness. The space itself strikes a pleasant semi-formal note--clean, polished, and respectful without veering into stuffy territory. Behind the bar, the bartender was meticulously wiping down every bottle, a quiet display of care that set a tone of genuine pride in the operation. We began with a dozen oysters: six raw and six char-grilled. The raw specimens were on the petite side for the price, yet delivered a clean, bright, and pleasantly saline flavor that let the oyster speak for itself. The char-grilled version arrived with a savory Parmesan crust that brought its own appealing character--rich, cheesy, and nicely caramelized in a way that felt unique rather than derivative. The crab dip, however, was a standout. Far superior to the often disappointing versions we've encountered elsewhere, this one tasted of genuine lump crab meat, folded into a properly cheesy, indulgent dip that avoided any unfortunate "buffalo" detours. Served with crisp crostini, each bite was balanced and deeply satisfying--an authentic crab dip done right. The Korean cheesesteak offered an excellent harmony of flavors: tender, well-seasoned meat beneath a luxurious blanket of melted cheese, punctuated by the bright, spicy kick of kimchi and the refreshing snap of pickles. It was delicious, though for the price, I wished for a more generous filling and a bit more heft to the sandwich overall. The mac & cheese arrived in a commendably generous portion, with a beautiful Parmesan crust on top. Visually appealing, the dish unfortunately fell a touch flat on the palate. The noodles were properly cooked and coated in a creamy sauce, yet it lacked the depth and seasoning one hopes for-- a pinch more salt and pepper would have elevated it considerably. The fish and chips presented a towering mound of fries that carried decent flavor but lacked the shattering crispness one craves. The real disappointment lay in the presentation of the fish: two fillets stacked atop one another, causing the steaming heat to turn the once-promising breading soggy and prone to sliding off. That said, the fish itself was excellent--flaky, moist, and delicately sweet with a lovely buttery quality. It was the unfortunate interaction between steam and crust that kept the dish from greatness. The roads were a little dense, so not necessarily my particular style, but I'm good. The butter that came with them was very unique to say the least. To drink, both beers arrived filled to the absolute brim and proved so enjoyable that I would gladly order them again without hesitation. Overall, the evening delivered solid, thoughtful plates in a well-run environment, with several bright spots that make a return visit tempting--particularly for those oysters and that excellent crab dip.

Both provided recommendations when ask and were extremely accommodating and personable. We ordered a bottle of the Grillo which was an excellent value and delicious white wine. I prefer Sauvignon Blanc and this did not disappoint. For dinner we tried the ravioli and meatball parm (Adrienne's recommendation) both were delicious! We have plenty of leftovers to last us. In stark contrast, the Lemoncello Cheesecake Martini proved an absolute delight: rich, creamy, and lush with bright lemonade notes. Intensely satisfying and dangerously drinkable, one could happily indulge in a gallon of this velvety concoction. Service brought its own inconsistencies. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive, cheerfully assisting with menu navigation. However, requests for ice water were met repeatedly with room-temperature glasses, requiring multiple reminders that never quite resolved the issue. The menu itself presented a minor puzzle--the dessert section was absent, leaving us uncertain whether a separate dessert menu existed or if options had simply been overlooked. The appetizers shone brightly. The Fried Green Tomatoes arrived as a visually stunning plate (we had already dispatched two of the four slices before snapping a photo). The breading was on the heavier side yet carried solid flavor, while the accompanying sauces stole the show. The marinara was exceptional--deep, fresh, and layered with complexity; one could easily envision bottling it. The cream sauce provided a lovely counterpoint to the vibrant pesto, which surprised me (as a general pesto skeptic) with its balanced texture and multifaceted flavor profile. The Burrata and Charcuterie-style starter was equally successful. Featuring a generous bowl of creamy burrata, two varieties of sweet jam, assorted cured meats, and crusty bread, it invited creative assembly into custom crostini. This interactive element added an innovative, playful touch while delivering robust, harmonious flavors. Unfortunately, the main courses told a more mixed story. The Sausage and Broccolini pasta was a clear disappointment. Visually, it arrived swimming in excess grease that overwhelmed the palate from the first few bites onward and very muted tones. While the pasta was perfectly cooked, the broccolini retained a pleasant crunch, and the sausage offered good initial flavor and texture, the sheer quantity of oil coated everything, rendering subsequent tastes one-dimensional and heavy. In hindsight, the Shrimp Caprese might have been the wiser choice, though the menu's lack of portion detail gave pause. My husband's Chicken Parmesan fared better. The cutlet showed a darker presentation that stopped short of burnt, and while the visual appeal suffered slightly, the flavor delivered. The pasta was cooked beautifully with a well-balanced sauce portion, and the generous cutlet itself was tender and satisfying--a solid, classic execution. Overall, the meal had moments of real brilliance, particularly in the appetizers and that unforgettable martini, tempered by execution missteps in temperature control and richness management. A restaurant with clear potential, though one that would benefit from tighter attention to fundamentals.
