Weirdest most complicated wedge salad I've ever had! Couldn't even take a nice picture it was such a mess.
Cindy P.

The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous! The decor, the old mill vibe, the views, it's all top level. We were surprised on a Saturday night at peak dinner time that it was empty, only 1 table was occupied. Come to find out, a more sterile section in the back is where two other tables were seated! Seemed like it was for over flow but sadly it's where we were seated, tucked away from the mill vibe and tucked away from the old wood. Perfect section for folks with kids but we were three adults! We thought maybe the front section tables were reserved but the entire time we were there only 3 tables were seated in the front area. Then sadly, service was slow, basic and methodical but somehow it made sense, we were the furthest you could get from everything! Now, it was all resting on the food! The pork belly was amazing, rendered perfectly, soft and melt in your mouth! The fresh fried pork rinds crackled the entire time, were nice and warm and loved by all! The teeny tiny spoonful of dip was very good, just miniscule considering the portion of rinds. Our server never returned to ask for a bit more until our meals were delivered so we enjoyed them plain. The chicken and biscuits lacked any seasoning whatsoever and the presentation of the steak was quite lackluster. The wedge salad was just plain weird, too much going on for a wedge! Millhouse is listed as fine dining with the decor and prices screaming fine dining but service and food don't match.

The food was very good. We started with appetizer of fried green tomatoes with crab, we loved it so no pic, our drinks were good, meals very good, desert banana pudding and I loved the flame top and sugar crystals inside. Our server Kathryn was a vibe and made us feel very welcomed. She had recommended foods when we asked and very delightful. She needs a raise because service like that is a rare gem. Overall pleased with this place.

Quail, Smoked Prime Rib, and expresso martini were amazing. Beautiful historic building. Jasmine was our beautiful waitress . She was amazing. This was a dinner we wont forget. The view of the white water from our table was relaxing as well !!!

I'm always looking for new places to eat and this is one of the BEST I've found located in Columbus, GA. I was taken aback before I even walked through the doors. The hostess initially wanted to seat us in the very back in a secluded room which we declined. We elected to instead sit at the bar and Mike, the bartender, was certainly a delight. ALL OF HIS RECOMMENDATIONS WERE DELICIOUS! The spinach tasted a tad bit like pickles which I'm not a fan of; however, I ate the majority of them anyway. I chose to have the fish blackened. Overall, I loved the rustic look inside and the warm atmosphere. I have made the decision that this will be more of a date night spot; therefore, I'm not sure if I'll be visiting as frequently as I'd like to to try the various items on the menu. The meals are well over $25 and everything is a la carte.

Great late night date night, staff were very friendly and helpful, each dish was very delicious... definitely will be back

To start this restaurant is beautiful! The ambiance is on point. Know before you go it is very pricey. I am not sure everything you order is worth the price you pay, but we went in knowing it was going to be an expensive date and it sure was. To start, the shrimp hush puppies were great and so was the broad board. We actually liked the bread board the most from this visit. We had the chicken and steak for dinner with the sweet potato and kale side as well as the scalloped potatoes. The steak was delicious and the chicken was flavorful. The sides were a bit bland. Again, for the price it is a stretch that the main entree does not come with anything other than the meat. By the time you buy sides to complement your meal it can run you close to $75 dollars per person just for the main entree. This was a fun spot to try. The food was tasty and we enjoyed a date night. For the price it won't be a usual stop, but they had a nice crowd that night and for others maybe it will be!

Was told by my colleagues that the Parker house rolls and cinnamon butter was great. I had the summer salad (spring greens, cherries, strawberries, and a HUGE knot of burrata cheese, with an additional grilled salmon). This salad was incredible. Highly recommend! The table shared some deviled eggs. The pickled onions on the deviled eggs was so good. Everyone dipped their fries in the chili crisp oil and agreed it was one of the best flavor combos of the trip. Our server gave us an extra side of it and gave my friend a side of kimchi to add to his burger. Just great all around service and vibe. While the restaurant feels like the height of 2015-2020 design (let's road trip in our sprinter van to a shipping container cottage!), everything feels airy and good to be there

Later that Wednesday evening, as the restaurant settled into a softer, more intimate glow, we opted…read morefor the main dining room rather than the rooftop. The hostess was warm and efficient, seating us immediately. Our server approached with the quiet confidence of someone who knows her craft--she was direct, professional, and all business in the best possible way. Even as closing time drew near, she kept my glass refreshed without needing to be asked, a small but telling detail that spoke volumes about her attentiveness. The space itself strikes a pleasant semi-formal note--clean, polished, and respectful without veering into stuffy territory. Behind the bar, the bartender was meticulously wiping down every bottle, a quiet display of care that set a tone of genuine pride in the operation. We began with a dozen oysters: six raw and six char-grilled. The raw specimens were on the petite side for the price, yet delivered a clean, bright, and pleasantly saline flavor that let the oyster speak for itself. The char-grilled version arrived with a savory Parmesan crust that brought its own appealing character--rich, cheesy, and nicely caramelized in a way that felt unique rather than derivative. The crab dip, however, was a standout. Far superior to the often disappointing versions we've encountered elsewhere, this one tasted of genuine lump crab meat, folded into a properly cheesy, indulgent dip that avoided any unfortunate "buffalo" detours. Served with crisp crostini, each bite was balanced and deeply satisfying--an authentic crab dip done right. The Korean cheesesteak offered an excellent harmony of flavors: tender, well-seasoned meat beneath a luxurious blanket of melted cheese, punctuated by the bright, spicy kick of kimchi and the refreshing snap of pickles. It was delicious, though for the price, I wished for a more generous filling and a bit more heft to the sandwich overall. The mac & cheese arrived in a commendably generous portion, with a beautiful Parmesan crust on top. Visually appealing, the dish unfortunately fell a touch flat on the palate. The noodles were properly cooked and coated in a creamy sauce, yet it lacked the depth and seasoning one hopes for-- a pinch more salt and pepper would have elevated it considerably. The fish and chips presented a towering mound of fries that carried decent flavor but lacked the shattering crispness one craves. The real disappointment lay in the presentation of the fish: two fillets stacked atop one another, causing the steaming heat to turn the once-promising breading soggy and prone to sliding off. That said, the fish itself was excellent--flaky, moist, and delicately sweet with a lovely buttery quality. It was the unfortunate interaction between steam and crust that kept the dish from greatness. The roads were a little dense, so not necessarily my particular style, but I'm good. The butter that came with them was very unique to say the least. To drink, both beers arrived filled to the absolute brim and proved so enjoyable that I would gladly order them again without hesitation. Overall, the evening delivered solid, thoughtful plates in a well-run environment, with several bright spots that make a return visit tempting--particularly for those oysters and that excellent crab dip.

I started off with the Moon Over Madagascar, and let me tell you--if this drink had a fan club, I'd be president. The black tea and vanilla combo sounded like a weird dare at first, but it ended up being shockingly amazing. Whoever came up with that mix deserves a bonus and maybe a parade. Now, let's talk about the shrimp and grits, because these were not just "good." These were "call your mama and tell her you've tasted greatness" good. The chef is from South Carolina, and you can taste every bit of Lowcountry pride in that bowl. Perfectly cooked grits? Check. Pile of blackened shrimp? Double check. A sauce that made me rethink my entire life? Oh yeah. If they sold that sauce by the gallon, I'd be bankrupt but extremely happy. Erica, our waitress, was an absolute rockstar. Super helpful, incredibly informative, and somehow managed to keep the perfect balance of friendly and professional--even on the Sunday after the Iron Bowl, when half of Auburn is stress-eating. The place was spotless too, which is impressive considering the emotional damage that game causes every year. Bottom line: The Hound is a must-visit. Come hungry, order boldly, and thank me later.
