Unpleasant experience. There was a woman that worked there getting drunk and being very loud and disruptive off-hours. Shouting at the top of her lungs and the staff refusing to do anything about it. If you like places where "she's just having fun" is an excuse for an abruptly ear-piercing environment this is the bar for you. The tots were normal tots. The food really didn't taste bad, the prices are just heinous. You get way better value at a B Dubs than you get here. The draft beers were not cold, the canned ones were. The waitress was nice but a little incompetent. Put drinks on the wrong tabs and combined 2 tabs into one. The parking is plentiful. Came for trivia night and the trivia guy is super entertaining. I've visited this place several times but was really surprised this week. Service in the past has been sub-par. Major reason to stay away. Not sure if the management has changed recently , but that problem seems to have been solved. I was there mostly for the drinks because I chose to eat somewhere else first. The Hangout is a great spot to enjoy a fun night. The drinks are always on point and the food is usually good, but can sometimes be hit or miss. The waitresses have always been very attentive. Almost every night they have special events. We regularly go on Thursday Trivia nights. The host keeps things fun. With 4 rounds, teams have more chances to win. read more

So this bar decided to hold me liable for everyone at my table who had an open tab. They did this without my permission. I was not the first or last person to order drinks or food to the table. I ordered a round for the table, after that the waitress came back and told me I was liable for everyone at the table, and then I paid for what I ordered. However, they still insisted I was liable for the entire table if anyone at the table did not pay their tab. I disputed it with the waitress and the manager but they did not budge. This is my new go to burger spot. It was amazing. The Cheesesteak is amazing as well. The location is nice and homey and the service was fast and just as ordered. You must start with the pickle dip with the pretzels. At first, I was a little cautious but it had me with the first bite. DEFINITE five stars!!!! read more

The driver, Marquis was polite and great. +1 star: order was accurate and arrived at a good time. +1: fries were okay, wings were okay. -1 star: the 2.50 sprite was not sprite. Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday. Not very busy. After our order was in for 30 minutes we were told one item wasn't available and had to choose something else. After another 14 minutes our order begins to come out; one item at a time over a 15 minute window. One item was a bowl of soup with only about a 1/4 cup of. Soup in it Told they were out of soup and we could order another side item. I ordered their Brisket Philly which was supposed to be a speciality. It was dry and way too salty. Bree is decent but she ignored us at the bar while she chats with the customers for 15-20 minutes at a time. When she bartends alone she ignores her staple consumer base at the bar and prefers to converse with the older gentlemen at the tables while we sit and wait for refills. Not quite sure why she was elevated to managerial position when she is clearly ill equipped to manage her bar and till in a professional and efficient manner. The absolute worst manager experience of my life. This was my very first visit to the Hangout because it was my wife's birthday. I ordered the spaghetti but thought it was a bit unusual for a bar to have spaghetti, and it was the worst looking plate of spaghetti I've ever seen. It was about 90% noodles and looked completely dry. It looked like some left over crap that had been heated up in the microwave. It looked so horrible that I didn't even want to "try" it. When I asked our waitress, which was wonderful, if I could send it back and order something different she said that she would ask the manager. So the manager came over to our table holding my plate of spaghetti and confrontationally exclaimed "So I hear you have a problem with our spaghetti"? So I said yea, it looks like complete trash and I would like to order something different. So the manager, a blonde girl, proceeds to tell me that they get lots of complements on their spaghetti and that it's made from Robert Mondavi blah, blah,blah and tells me that I didn't even "try" it. I felt like she was almost implying that my palate was not sophisticated enough to appreciate their garbage barroom spaghetti plate. I responded with "correct, It looks so terrible that I don't even want to try it and I just don't want it". Then she said that she COULDN'T take it off the bill and I was just stuck with it. Now I've worked in retail for 12 years and I am NOT of the school of thought that the customer is always right. I'm really NOT, but this was ridiculous. I then told her that if this was how she wanted to play this then that was up to her and that's why I'm writing this review. So after she leaves our table WITH my plate of spaghetti that I paid for, two of the other waitresses came over that overheard our exchange and said that the manager was a complete bish and they all hated her. They also told me that if I didn't want to pay for the plate of trash spaghetti that the manager took away and charged me for that the bill would fall on them personally and they would have to pay for it. Needless to say I was shocked to hear that the kitchen can produce a plate of complete garbage and if the customer doesn't want it or like it then the manager will make the WAITRESS pay for it? Our waitress was so wonderful that we didn't want to press the issue anymore and have the manager penalize her for the trash that came out of the kitchen. What an f'ed up business and the Hang Out will never get another penny of my money. On my way out I told the manager what a horrible manager she was and I would not recommend that anyone EVER go to the Hangout because their management is completely unreasonable and ridiculous. This place does not appear to have the attention to detail that I have come to expect from Mark Jones locations. To start, the parking is very strange and the front entrance is not clearly marked. As you enter, you get the feeling of a gutted double wide with 12 TVs on one wall. This place is most certainly not "young children" friendly. There is no children's menu and only one booth. They have four high chairs but only one booth tucked in a corner. The high chairs do not fit at any of the other tables as they are all high tops. Price wise, the cost is consistent with most Jones restaurants. I would rate this better than the "Flip Side" and "Ready, Steak, Go" but sub par to all of the rest. On the positive side, the food is very tasty and the staff is excellent. read more

I like the atmosphere and it's a fun place to watch football, but the service is TERRIBLE! I'm assuming it's a local thing..... been here 4 or 5 times and every time I've noticed the bartenders tend to the locals and regulars. My last experience I sat down on the patio, the waitress came up, took our drink order, and then 2 guys sat down at the table next to us. By the time we got our drinks, the bartender walked from the bar to outside, took their drink and food order, had their drinks and food right after. I waited 45 min for wings, they were cold, the waitress just said sorry as she walked off with them. Another time, came here after work on a Tues, the place was dead and the bartender waited on the 2 guys at the front of the bar. We ordered, and it took over an hour to get food. But the locals were catered too first. It may not be a hangout thing but a Columbus thing. I'm military and have been getting the same kind of service everywhere. Maybe it's me! Great place we only went there for drinks, feels local and great prices. Only complaint is customer service is not so well. Also, asked a couple of times if they could change the channel to watch a game, they changed it then it was changed back.. next thing you know they have so many TVs but the remote doesn't work when asked again for another TV.. we left.. other than that it was okay. read more
