My first visit to Netta's yesterday was amazing and impressive. We read the reviews for the restaurant and decided to try Netta's. My husband and I were treated with TLC by the kind employees, and the food was truly delicious. The dinner choices were abundant and the portions were generous. We were impressed with the clean, spacious and peaceful dining room. We plan to return soon. My only idea for improvement is to add updated photos of food on dinner plates for the website because the huge servings of okra, chicken and vegetable casserole I received was more generous than the photos they posted. read more

Simple buffet-line serving Southern Basics like Fried Chicken & Catfish, with most of my favorite sides. The staff is very friendly. Even better; the food is fresh and good, at great prices! My Fried Catfish was dry and crispy, just like I prefer! My Black-Eyed Peas were great, as was the Mac & Cheese. My wife loved her Fried Chicken, Black-Eyed Peas & Rice. Overall, my experience was AMAZING! The food was good. The staff were incredibly nice and the restaurant was clean. I can't say much for the atmosphere because I missed the lunch and dinner rush so the restaurant was empty. My only criticism is the parking lot is small and you will miss the restaurant if you aren't paying attention. Now, the food was really good. I got chicken, mac-and-cheese, cornbread, and yams. The chicken wasn't dry and was fried nicely. The macaroni was good and cheesy. The cornbread was a little dry but combined with the yams, it was amazing. I love yams but not everyone's yams, however these were made just right. I got a juice to-go because they didn't have any sprite. The guy at the counter actually checked before giving it to me which was great. They also have many different side and dessert options. Again great experience so, I will be going back to try them more. I would recommend to friends. read more

First time here. I went right after lunch started around 11:15 am and ordered fried chicken, rice and gravy, collard greens and an extra side of fried okra. Spent $14. The place was empty except for one couple dining in. It's very spacious if you want to eat inside however I took mine to go. The staff was very nice and welcoming. Okay the food- the fried okra was nothing but salt. Couldn't eat it whatsoever and ended up throwing it away. Paid extra for it and really hate I did. Again, first time. I'm not sure if this is normal or whoever was cooking this day was a little heavy handed. The fried chicken was okay. Nothing to be crazy about or to run back and get. Didn't really have much flavor to it. The rice and collards were good. Seasoned pretty nicely but still nothing to be too crazy about. For the amount I spent I was expecting to be wow'd. There's other southern cooking establishments that I prefer. However, I will be back as I always like to visit a place at least twice before giving my final review. This place earns a solid 4-star rating from me and if I could pick to give 5 stars for the chicken alone, I would!! The chicken by far was the best! Juicy, fried to golden perfection, the chicken is slap yo mama excellent!! Cannot possibly rave about it enough!! I chose to accompany it with candied yams and mashed potatoes. They are both solid choices that put the Southern in cooking. The gravy, though, tasted straight out of Mama Netta's pan!! Excellent flavour and so authentic!! The tea was a little weaker than I like, but the cornbread rocked!! Lightly sweet hint to it and very distinct old school cornmeal flavour!! The restaurant was clean and meticulous. Staff are friendly and helpful! And to boot, the meal ran me about 12 bucks with tip! That's a bargain!! If you want something tasty and are tired of franchise gumbo, Netta's is for you!! read more

We popped in here for breakfast this morning after sleeping in. We arrived at 10:20 to learn breakfast is over at 10:30. They took excellent care of us, cooked our breakfast fresh to order, and didn't make us feel like we were putting them out by sliding in at the last minute. The food was excellent. My wife brought a group of 13 here previously and was impressed for lunch, but now it's time to put dinner to the test. I ordered fried chicken, Mac and cheese along with rice and gravy and a roll. It was very good and when you throw in a piece of chocolate cake for dessert mixed with great southern hospitality I would recommend stopping in and treating your taste buds. This is a 5 star, southern gem. And, it's located in north Columbus (possibly, Fortson.) My point is.... nothing like it nearby. Good home cooking, southern style with all the fixins', homemade everything... Sides, meats, desserts. The long, hard way that is hard to find. And, it's delicious! The staff are awesome! Always, friendly and welcoming. They make you feel at home and like family. They go out of there way to make sure you leave happy and stuffed. It's a Christian/religious place/family restaurant and it is reflected in their work ethic and the way they treat people. Don't get me wrong...different religions, backgrounds, cultures (whatever)... they will love you and make you want to keep coming back for more. Love this place! Southern hospitality at its best! I love Netta's... Netta is the reason I don't​ cook lol Me and my boyfriend eat here about​ 3 days a week... Breakfast, lunch or dinner, doesn't​ matter which one it's alllll good! Sometimes there's​ a bit of a line... but there's​ never a long wait.​.. She even has a drive thru for the lazy people like me that dont wanna get out the car lol. Everything here is soooo good.
