The inside felt more open and easier to maneuver than the Midland location. Getting into the parking lot was a bit of a pain, enter at a slant so you don't scrape. We barely saw our server and overall didn't have a good experience with the service aspect of our visit. Generally pretty fast service once you're in and seated (our wait was only 15 minutes on Easter morning, surprisingly) and our server was friendly. I got the club sandwich with fruit. This allows customers to find a First Watch whether they're in a bustling city or a suburban neighborhood. I have visited at least 7 locations in 3 states. One of the standout features of First Watch is its focus on health-conscious options and clean, fresh looking stores. The menu includes a variety of nutritious choices, such as egg-white omelets, fresh fruit bowls, and whole-grain pancakes just to name a few while also sporting some of my regular favorites like waffles, french toast, and pancakes. This particular location is at the corner of Whittlesey Blvd and Weems Road. The store was easy to get to and there seemed to be plenty of parking. Inside it has light colors and a mix of booths and tables for diners. The restaurant was very clean both inside and out. We were seated quickly. The waitress was very pleasant and efficient. The menu was consistent with others restaurants in the chain. I ordered the oatmeal which came with fruit, milk, sugar and a muffin. The food came out quickly and was delicious. "While in the South, do as the Southerners do." I'm not sure who first said that (possibly no one), but I'm applying that logic while on this trip to Georgia. Therefore, it seems only logical that this philosophy lead me to the doorstep of my first encounter with the famed "Shrimp and Grits" experience. While we have greatly enjoyed meals at "First Watch" when visiting Colorado, we certainly didn't expect to find another location here in Columbus (nor could we have predicted that this is where my introduction to shrimp and grits would take place). Admittedly my ignorance of "the grit" fostered some anxiety within me, but I bravely soldiered on beneath the banner of adventure. (In truth that "bravery" had its limits and I did an internet search for images while at the table just to prepare myself for what might emerge on my plate after it departed the kitchen.) As it turns out my fears of the unknown were unwarranted. I sheepishly sampled the grits first. Then the shrimp. And then a bite of both together. Wow, that combo of flavors was really impressive y'all! Now my only fear moving forward is that when I order this again after leaving the South I may be greatly disappointed. While nothing during this meal could upstage my entree, I have to admit that the "Holey Donuts" (with accompanying chocolate and berry sauce) were also delish. Our third First Watch visit. We've been to FW in FL, Texas and now GA. Each FW makes our entrees (same selection in each city) differently. While food is good, we are more accustomed to entrees being same way cooked/presented at every chain location. Try the eggs Benedict and healthy wrap. Ask them not to make an omelette with the turkey, mushrooms and cheese, rather leave turkey deli sliced, cheese too. The flavors of all ingredients are not as enjoyable when cooked all together as omelette and rolled into a wrap. Coffee is great, they leave a small pot for the table. Once I find something I like it's really hard for me to branch out, so needless to say I have ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes three times. My husband loves their Belgium waffles and my son and his fiancé like other things on the menu. After visiting this restaurant I have tried to recreate the lemon ricotta pancakes and mine just haven't been as good. But I'll keep trying unless my son gets stationed at Fort Benning again. The food was pretty good. I ordered pancakes (blueberry) I received the waffle instead. It was sooo good. I ended up eating that instead while I was waiting for my pancake. The place does not look good from the street, it's part of a dumpy looking strip mall. Inside is First Watch standard. Service was outstanding. As this was the third day in a row at a First Watch-in Columbus there is one First Watch, three IHop's and a dozen Waffle Houses so First Watch it was and I did not get my normal traditional breakfast (top right of the menu). I got the hash with a side of gravy and the gravy was super runny/watery-nasty. The hash wasn't very good either or the best First Watch and I would not recommend it for your first experience. We have tried First Watch on a few different occasions over the years and honestly we weren't fully impressed a few years ago after they opened. However, on our most recent two visits we have enjoyed the food and service much more. We are a huge fan of the outdoor seating area with small kids. It's chilly in the winter, but so convenient for strollers or larger parties. We also have had great service and love the seasonal selections. I love that the breakfast entrees come with the option of greens/salad. It's a nice and fresh option when ordering a heavy meal. As far as a breakfast brunch spot in Columbus GA, this place is pretty good. But when it comes to Benedict's they just don't get it the first time. Over two visits i have had to send back my eggs Benedict back to get them poached right. Over poached eggs are never a good thing. It means the kitchen either is letting them bake over the hot lights, or they're not timing right and giving them a cold bath out of the cooking process. Either way - be careful if you order. I'd prefer the omelettes or pancakes. Very good!! But again not sure there is a better place to munch on toast, coffee, and eggy wegs than First Watch in Columbus GA :-) read more

Great meal and the service was crazy fast! It's a Friday in a military town and everybody was off today, I swear. But I wanted to take my friend out to breakfast to celebrate her retirement. I landed on the tacos, they are always delicious. They had some seasonal ones at a restaurant in Severn MD last summer barboca tacos. I have not seen them again and the dissapointment has been real. However their chorizo ones are just fine. This location was clean and the service was good. If it seems we're on a First Watch circuit, well, this is our fifth location. We know what we love, and we love First Watch. My wife seems to hold the line on her Favs wherever we go. She is just so happy with their Morning Market Veggie entree. I push the envelope to try new items from their varied offerings. Today I went with the Muffin Tops - they call them pancakes. Look at how their smothered in yumminess. Hot Tea for her Coffee and OJ for me - I needed the perfect pulp OJ to get my vitamin regimen down.
