Great service food was great, I just wanted some protein no carbs. I ordered scrambled eggs and bacon with no toast or grits and the waitress suggested the protein breakfast for scrambled eggs and two meats. I did not even see that on the menu. Great place. I had such a great experience at Metro Diner! Their breakfast items are amazing. I ordered the eggs Benedict with a side of crispy hashbrowns with onion and cheese -- it was actually our waitress's recommendation, and wow... it was SO good. I will never order my hashbrowns any other way again! The atmosphere is fun and lively, and it's always busy, which says a lot. Definitely a breakfast spot worth the hype. Nasty Restaurant with smell of the toilet with dirty tables September 2026 Filthy Restaurant lots of dirty tables with plates and food from previous diners where tables needed to be bust by bust boy. Smell of restaurant was like a toilet it was as if they hadn't cleaned the bathrooms and you could smell it when you got towards the middle of the nasty restaurant. The food was disappointing it did not taste fresh instead seemed like something that was pre bagged and put in a microwave. This place isn't the worst or the best. The service was decent. The ambiance is stale, not very welcoming. This was my first time visiting and I wish I had ordered dinner food instead of lunch. My food was very bland. I had to sit at the table and utilize every possible seasoning visible to me...annnnd still didn't like it. Metro Diner is always so chaotic feeling lol. Got seated quickly though and our breakfast food came out quickly as well. Atmosphere is very casual and it's always loud in there. Food was VERY bland. Like extremely. Service was ok. Waitress was nice but it was like she was checking in on everyone except us and it took forever for her to get our payment so we could leave. Saving grace for my visit was my free birthday dessert that I decided to go ahead and get. The chocolate cake is GREAT! I like a traditional breakfast so I got the two egg breakfast, it was drenches in oils which I would prefer they do not do but it was still really good! My husband and I went there because our son wanted a Monte Cristo sandwich. When I looked online this was listed as a place that sold them. When I didn't see it on the menu, I asked our waitress who said she had worked there for two years and had never heard of it. She did go ask the manager who said it was a seasonal item. We stayed because we're tired and hungry. I ordered the shrimp and grits with a biscuit on the side and my husband ordered the fish and chips. We called in a pickup order for my son at Cheddars for his Monte Cristo. My shrimp and grits were watery and there were hot spots/cold spots in the grits confirming it was just microwaved. The shrimp didn't seem done to me, there was very little sausage and it was chopped into tiny pieces. The biscuit was hard as a rock and was served with no butter, although there was jelly on the table. My husband said his fish was fine but the fries were cold and inedible. Columbus has some great places to eat, but we won't be back to this restaurant, it was an all around bad experience. read more

Not only is the food good and brought to you fast but the servers and the rest of the staff are helpful, professional, friendly, and treat everyone with respect. Skye has been my server multiple times and she has a bright personality and almost unmatched humor. Many of the servers are very good at their job at Metro but Skye sets the bar to a whole new level. read more

Great mimosas and grilled cheese. Great place to pop in for breakfast or brunch with some friends on a weekday.

It's a Tuesday evening around 7pm. At first the was no hostess, just had to wait a short moment while she finished help a customer that was seated near the front door. She was nice and seated me right away. A short moment later my waitress arrived and asked what I would like to drink and I ordered a sweet tea with lemon. I also ordered an appetizer of onion rings. They came out literally a minute or so later! I was actually surprised at how quick it was. Heck I hadn't even figured out what I wanted to eat. I went with the meatloaf and mashed potatoes with brown gravy and green beans. First off back to the onion rings! Man I love me some onion rings however usually they are sieved super oily/greasy, this were very crispy! Well cut homemade'esk size and plentiful, a huge side dish plate! It was served with a chilled house ranch, which I usually don't touch but it seemed like a house made as it wasn't watered down and looked a little thick. It was very good and different than the normal horseradish sauce. Excellent I highly recommend the onion rings!!! The meatloaf dinner arrived shortly afterwards. Presentationally it looked good just maybe a touch to much gravy but over all it looked very appealing. The green beans were not from a can and seemed fresh. To my likening they could have been cooked a minute or two longer but to most they would have been perfectly fine. I knew I could have ordered the meatloaf and mashed potatoes without the gravy but it's was their( metro dinners recommendation) not my waitress Alana. The gravy was very salty and I like my salt. It in my opinion ruined the mashed potatoes. They were mashed with the red skins included. Perfect texture! The meatloaf was a huge let down in my opinion. It didn't even look like real meat, didn't taste like it either! Looked like a prefab concoction from the freezer or something. Not that I know for sure! My waitress, Alana was a very sweet and helpful young lady! She made sure I had all I needed and replaced my iced tea with a completely new cup and lemons without refilling the previous like some places do. She was knowledgeable able the menu and answered all my questions and even afterwards we discussed the meal. It was pleasure having her as my waitress! I hope to see her on a future visit! I knew going in the meatloaf maybe questionable as I like mine a certain way. I've eaten here before and know they have lots of good food. I was blown away by the onion rings if you can't tell! I left my waitress a great tip 11 bucks for a bill that was slightly under 30! I wish more waitresses and waiters had her professionalism. She wasn't having a great day either and still had a smile and performing top notch service! I would recommend coming here just stay away from meatloaf lol! read more

Went here for anniversary brunch tried the apple pie mimosa the sunrise mimosa the orange mimosa and a bloody Mary all the mimosas were very good. The bloody Mary was not even in my top 10 favorite. It was just very lacking a flavor and there was so much ice. There was hardly any liquid in the glass. We ordered the poutine appetizer we had to explain to the waitress multiple times that there is a poutine appetizer on the board. She stated she was new but when we said we wanted poutine, she kept saying cheese cards and we said no poutine so there was a little confrontation back-and-forth once we got the poutine. It really suffered from gravy and needed a lot more gravy a lot more poutine as you can see in the pictures however, the ranch sauce that came with it was sublime highly recommend. Husband got the huevos rancheros's breakfast and it was not even a great sea in flavor. It just tasted bland with a couple burnt chips really no filling it was 99% chips and the rest sour cream just not good would never order that again . Plus, I had a very sloppy presentation. I have the San Francisco eggs Benedict the positives are. It was a great poached eggs and hashbrowns were well and the components were there. The negatives are that was not holiday sauce that is nacho cheese sauce with some hollandaise powder in it completely smack in the face of true holiday sauce the tomato was so thick. You could hardly taste anything else besides tomato . The menu stated that there was sliced avocado, but I got mushy avocado on top of an eggs Benedict. Overall, not really impressed with this establishment only would come for the ranch sauce, which is really nothing compared to what we ordered read more

Thanksgiving food pickup was perfect. We had way too much food (yay for leftovers!!) and it was all very tasty. The staff couldn't have been nicer. My elderly father wasn't able to go out to eat so we chanced a pickup order. It really made a stressful and emotional Thanksgiving day so much easier to get through.
