Dear Parker cousins wishing me a Happiest 60th Birthday!!!!

I celebrated my 60th Birthday brunch here with Family & Friends on December 3rd...It was a nice ambiance and the food menu was pretty good. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits it was delicious! Bon Appetit'

First, the service was wonderful and our waitress did ask my husband to check his steak before she left us so he could make sure it was cooked the way he wanted. He had ordered a medium rare New York Strip but it came raw and cold in the middle. They cooked it more for him but it also had some hard grizzle and unrendered fat. He also chose the seasonal grilled veggies as one of his sides and what you see is what he got, 2 slices of zucchini and 1 slice of squash...it was kind of absurd. Brussel sprouts were delicious, however, he definitely felt like his meal was not worth the cost. The beef empanada appetizer and my pumpkin pesto pasta with steak were delicious. We also got key lime pie for dessert and it was more of a tart and very small. Not sure the dessert was worth the cost either. The restaurant was almost completely empty while we were there as most people were upstairs in the bar area watching a football game. Overall, our experience was a bit disappointing but it was okay.

I've been wanting to try Wicked Hen since last year and we finally enjoyed them last month. My son had yet another military graduation and we celebrated over brunch. This may be one of my favorite restaurants in Columbus. The food was sooooo yummy! I started with a mimosa and we shared the fried green tomatoes and an order of deviled eggs. I had the shrimp and grits (because, well... shrimp and grits are my all time FAV!) and my son had the chicken tendies. My Mom enjoyed a salad. Our meal was absolutely outstanding. Service was great! Highly recommend.

Went on a Sunday and it was not really busy. Only about two other parties. The food did take a long time to get to us. Once we got it, it wasn'5 really all that great. I would rate the food about 3/5. The spot is very cute to come sit and chat. They also have a chessboard with some chairs. I probably would not visit again.

I dropped in for lunch today and found the place delightful. Simple ambiance, solid food. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits, which was served with spinach and garlic bread. The server was attentive. I'll definitely go back to try the Duck Egg Rolls. I also hear they have a lamb burger on the dinner menu, which is right up my alley.

To visit on a Wednesday around 1:15 pm and walk into an establishment with two other guests present was quite surprising. When I left at 1:40 pm, there were still only three guests and that included MUAH! I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty and filling the shrimp and grits were. Because there weren't many patrons present, I didn't expect to wait long and I didn't. I would usually order a glass of wine or mimosa; however, I was on a lunch break and I don't drink on the job. I didn't know this establishment was open for brunch on Saturdays and Sundays so I look foreword to returning, and honestly, it doesn't matter if the place is packed or empty. I have more dishes to try and I think this would be a great location to host a meet up!

Valentines Dinner for Two. Enjoyed the ambiance, delicious food and drinks. The Scallops wrapped in Bacon was Awesome. Kudos to the Chef!! Ask for Terri to serve you. She is not only very attentive but just a very pleasant, down to earth waitress. Made us feel right at home!!! Thanks Wicked Hen

This was a great homey place that felt more like a home. There was a nice selection of items on both the food and drink menu. The waitress was very friendly and offered the special, which was a 6oz filet and crab cake with pasta and zucchini. The sear on the steak was nice, and the crab cake was tender and sizeable. Overall, it's a good place for a quiet dinner out.

This place was absolutely amazing!!! Dined here with my mom and she loved it even more than me! We ordered the salmon special and the food was some of the best fish I've ever had. My server Anjaly was super kind and quick so I give the service a 10/10. Plus the ambiance or the "vibe" and younger people say was really cute. It's a clean southern kinda vibe I guess. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND

    Deviled egg with mini bagels

My wife and I visited Wicked Hen for the first time on a recent date night. The restaurant is nice, but they seem to be suffering from the labor shortage. We ate upstairs, which was a bit chilly, and even though it was less than half-full, there were delays because there was only one person working the entire floor. He was a new employee and nice but obviously frazzled. The food itself was good but pricey, which was not unexpected. We had the pumpkin seed encrusted trout and chicken Marsala, along with deviled egg mini-bagels. All were very good, but the chicken portion left my wife hungry. My wife also loved the Water Moccasin drink, while I liked the Porch Pounder. At $14, the drinks were very expensive for a 4-ounce glass. It's definitely a special occasion place. Hopefully, they can get their labor difficulties resolved so that the outing can be even more special.

While visiting my old stomping grounds I realized how much the city has grown, especially in terms of food choices. I decided on Wicked hen mainly because of the starters. They definitely caught my eye. The two I chose for lunch were the pork belly and the duck egg rolls. The duck egg rolls were spot on. Very flavorful With a hint of spice. The pork belly was also flavorful the okra helped cut through the richness. The 1 of 4 of the pork belly serving was a bit too well done, but overall a great dish. I would definitely come back and try other dishes

    Picture of the supposed hashbrowns

They charged us $22 for 2 pancakes, eggs and bacon. They gave us a forced gratuity of 22% when their policy says 20% and for parties of 6 or greater. We had 5 people. I would have tipped but that was annoying. On top of it their hash-browns don't qualify as food. It's like so thin and crispy that it legit looked like bird's nest. It didn't taste like food. I felt like I was eating hay and I didn't want to ask for a replacement because it took them an hour to bring our food out.

The menu is eclectic with just about something for everyone. All our food came out quickly. It was well prepared, fresh and everyone really enjoyed their food. There is a great drink selection and the service was excellent. The bar has roll up garage doors down one side that open up to an outdoor seating area with a variety of seating options. Decor is bright and cheerful. If I lived around here, Jarfly would be high up on my list as far as places to go relax drink and eat!

The combo appetizer included sweet potato fries, mozzarella sticks, wings, and nachos. The nachos…read morewere pretty basic--nothing special, no real cheese, barely any toppings. They honestly don't need to be on the menu. The mozzarella sticks were surprisingly flavorful with a nice crunch, but they came with way too much breading and only three of them, which felt stingy and odd. They definitely should've included more. The sweet potato fries had decent flavor but were under-salted (as fries almost always need after frying) and came out a bit limp and sad-looking. The hot wings weren't labeled as boneless or bone-in on the menu, but they turned out to be boneless--which is fine. They were a good size, but the "hot" sauce was extremely mild. It needs way more heat to live up to the name. Now, the ranch... this ranch is incredible. It's creamy, deeply flavored, and has the perfect amount of dill--it's practically divine. I could rave about this ranch all day. The Zombie drink comes in a cool skull glass (limited to one per person), but it's basically 99% ice with very little actual drink. I could barely taste any alcohol--maybe I have a high tolerance--but the flavor was solid. Still, it's pretty pricey for mostly ice. The John Denver cocktail also looked great in its presentation, but again, mostly ice. Thankfully, the flavor matched the menu description exactly, which was a pleasant surprise. The patty melt was solid overall, but it needed more salt and pepper for seasoning. My egg was overcooked (fully hard yolk instead of the runny one I was hoping for to ooze over the patty). The avocado was only on one half of the sandwich, which seemed strange. I'd have preferred a slightly thicker patty too, but I do appreciate that it came on Texas toast--even though the menu didn't mention it. All patty melts should use Texas toast. I added a side salad, which looked nicely artisanal, and--once again--that amazing ranch took it to another level. The regular fries that came with the Rodeo Burger aren't regular at all--they're battered and had great flavor and crisp structure. They were excellent... except for the missing finishing salt that every great fry deserves. The Rodeo Burger itself was cooked perfectly, but like the patty melt, the patties needed more salt and pepper. The egg was again overcooked (hard yolk). Beyond that, the flavors worked well, though the jalapeños were surprisingly mild and lacked punch. The bacon was spot-on--not underdone, not overcooked, just the right chew without being tooth-breaking. Overall, the food has potential, but seasoning (especially salt) is consistently missing, and a few portions/quality details could use attention. That ranch, though? Absolute standout

I felt like I was in the Bear (tv show) with the changing menu (we did pre-fix). We got a tour of the kitchen afterwards and got a glimpse of the whole operation as well as getting to see the special chef's table (seems like it'd be a cool experience and potentially worth the extra cost). I think what I enjoyed most here was the unique flavors and takes on traditional dishes. I loved the beat salad for example (so fresh and so clean as OutKast put it best) and with the mashed potato's that came with the short rib (so tender and flavorful as well), the mustard flavor and other ingredient that I don't typically like, only enhanced the dish for me. The potato soup was solid and very creamy. We also had the duck, which was tender, and delicious. I was glad to share dishes and "game the system." I had both the old fashioned and tried the old fashioned girl and both were good. I meant to get the smoky old fashioned because I saw someone else getting this and it looked delicious but they thought I wanted the old fashioned girl, which also has a smokey flavor. The dessert chocolate-e muffin concoction was rich and tasty. The chef actually came out during our visit and sat with us and jokingly tried to order food from his wait staff. I enjoyed this comedic act and felt like there was a real personal touch to our meal. My only real disappointment was our check-out experience where we couldn't get our credit card back and it took almost 30 minutes to actually pay and leave. The whole meal was also expensive but I knew that going in and knew we were paying for a special, unique experience.

Was told by my colleagues that the Parker house rolls and cinnamon butter was great. I had the summer salad (spring greens, cherries, strawberries, and a HUGE knot of burrata cheese, with an additional grilled salmon). This salad was incredible. Highly recommend! The table shared some deviled eggs. The pickled onions on the deviled eggs was so good. Everyone dipped their fries in the chili crisp oil and agreed it was one of the best flavor combos of the trip. Our server gave us an extra side of it and gave my friend a side of kimchi to add to his burger. Just great all around service and vibe. The hostess was warm and efficient, seating us immediately. Our server approached with the quiet confidence of someone who knows her craft--she was direct, professional, and all business in the best possible way. Even as closing time drew near, she kept my glass refreshed without needing to be asked, a small but telling detail that spoke volumes about her attentiveness. The space itself strikes a pleasant semi-formal note--clean, polished, and respectful without veering into stuffy territory. Behind the bar, the bartender was meticulously wiping down every bottle, a quiet display of care that set a tone of genuine pride in the operation. We began with a dozen oysters: six raw and six char-grilled. The raw specimens were on the petite side for the price, yet delivered a clean, bright, and pleasantly saline flavor that let the oyster speak for itself. The char-grilled version arrived with a savory Parmesan crust that brought its own appealing character--rich, cheesy, and nicely caramelized in a way that felt unique rather than derivative. The crab dip, however, was a standout. Far superior to the often disappointing versions we've encountered elsewhere, this one tasted of genuine lump crab meat, folded into a properly cheesy, indulgent dip that avoided any unfortunate "buffalo" detours. Served with crisp crostini, each bite was balanced and deeply satisfying--an authentic crab dip done right. The Korean cheesesteak offered an excellent harmony of flavors: tender, well-seasoned meat beneath a luxurious blanket of melted cheese, punctuated by the bright, spicy kick of kimchi and the refreshing snap of pickles. It was delicious, though for the price, I wished for a more generous filling and a bit more heft to the sandwich overall. The mac & cheese arrived in a commendably generous portion, with a beautiful Parmesan crust on top. Visually appealing, the dish unfortunately fell a touch flat on the palate. The noodles were properly cooked and coated in a creamy sauce, yet it lacked the depth and seasoning one hopes for-- a pinch more salt and pepper would have elevated it considerably. The fish and chips presented a towering mound of fries that carried decent flavor but lacked the shattering crispness one craves. The real disappointment lay in the presentation of the fish: two fillets stacked atop one another, causing the steaming heat to turn the once-promising breading soggy and prone to sliding off. That said, the fish itself was excellent--flaky, moist, and delicately sweet with a lovely buttery quality. It was the unfortunate interaction between steam and crust that kept the dish from greatness. The roads were a little dense, so not necessarily my particular style, but I'm good. The butter that came with them was very unique to say the least. To drink, both beers arrived filled to the absolute brim and proved so enjoyable that I would gladly order them again without hesitation. Overall, the evening delivered solid, thoughtful plates in a well-run environment, with several bright spots that make a return visit tempting--particularly for those oysters and that excellent crab dip.
