I absolutely love the food at Cheddars. However, I have quit dining at this location for the following reasons. 1. Dirty & Unkept: The sidewalk leading to the door is nasty with gum spots and is almost black. Needs a pressure washing bad. The inside normally numbers of unbused tables. 2. Loud atmosphere: The noise level makes it almost impossible to carry on a conversation without yelling. The restaurant area is more of a bar atmosphere than a dining experience. 3. Indifferent Staff: I have observed too many standing around gazing at their phones, or cutting up with fellow staff. They should be helping to clean tables and provide a better dining atmosphere. I went with my family and they messed up with many items. When ordering my food they walked away before asking how I liked my steak, which lead to it being dry. I asked for no green beans in my chicken pot pie and they were still added. They also don't have any chicken in the chicken pot pie. My sister asked for both the strawberry and raspberry lemonade and they only gave her the raspberry one. The onions still had the skin on and the mushrooms tasted microwaved. The bread they gave me was soggy and not delightful to eat. Overall, they got the orders wrong repeatedly and the food was not good. I recommend saving your money. read more

There are plenty of parking spaces. We took our grandmother to dinner to celebrate her 86th birthday. We all enjoyed our meals. There was a group of children (that looked to be pre-teens) behind us throwing food and ice. Another patron spoke up and said something to them because she and her mother were eating. She asked for the manager and he came out saying he didn't like the way she spoke to the kids. Not once did he or any of the staff ask the kids to stop. We agreed with her. The food experience was great. This is a hometown favorite for me and my boyfriend's first time trying. Our server was Audrey and she was very efficient and kind. We both ordered alcoholic drinks. I got the Tiki and he got a Dos Equis and The Classic Mule. Audrey brought out the two complimentary croissants with honey butter sauce and this set the tone for what we will expect for great food for the rest of the evening. The other looked more like a thin ny strip if even and sooo overcooked. One of my kids, who is far from picky, didnt want to eat his burger because he said it was so hard. I checked and the burger patty was solid and dry! Out of respect, I asked the waiter if our country fried dishes came with gravy because NONE of them came with gravy. I KNOW THEY DO. He flat out told me they did not come with gravy and said he can get some. The "gravy" he brought out was not gravy. It was chunky and I had a penne pasta in mine! I started wondering if he'd scoop someone's leftover into my plate. I did not finish it. My husband and brother did not touch their gravy. It was overall so disappointing. I tried to not let it ruin our night so I chose not to complain because reading these past review it would've been pointless anyway. We ordered drinks and the food didn't take long to come out at all but the bartender moved extremely slow, the drink I had was okay but it had way too much syrup in it. The food was really good, but the server never came back to ask if we needed the check split or to have us pay. We had some difficulties using the kiosk and wanted her to come back but she ignored the kiosk "call a server" blink a few times when passing the table. I stopped here for dinner after leaving Columbus State and I will never return. The restaurant was disgusting. There was trash on floor, the bar was dirty, and the bathroom sinks look like it hasn't been cleaned in days. I also observe the bartender wearing same gloves she made drinks, cash customers out, sleeping the floor, and bring food with. She also refilled the coconut that they use on the glass rim and spread it out with her hands (wearing the same gloves). The silverware was dirty and the steak sauce bottle has never been cleaned (for those who have worked in food service before, know what I mean). Instead she insisted to put our party in 2 groups of 5 in different locations of the restaurant. Do not eat at this restaurant because it is poorly organized and the booth where we sat had food and trash under the table. Plus at this posting their food score was 91. Looked cooked thoroughly but the slime/ chewy texture of the chicken made me wonder if it was barely cooked through. The sides were tasty! Drinks= I recommend as the bartender knows how to prepare a drink well. The pain killer drink is surely not for the weak links. The bathrooms: GROSS Dirty, a smell that was unpleasant. I have been a customer of Cheddar's since it opened years ago in Columbus GA. In the past I could depend on this restaurant for good food and service. However, only 1 of my last 5 carry out orders were correct. Four times multiple orders were incorrect. At times items were missing. Other times the food was not good. We received burgers on hard buns. Yesterday, I received a side Caesar salad with the dressing already on the salad and only 1 crouton. The dressing should be on the side. To make it even worse, there was a lot more dressing than I would have used. Also, there were no toppings provided for my baked potato. These things aren't a huge deal, but it does make your meal less enjoyable. I know anyone can have a bad day. I understand that Cheddar's prepares many orders everyday. With the amount of people they serve daily some orders will not be correct. The problem I have is repeatedly receiving incorrect orders lately. Cheddar's is delicious & affordable. There are always people standing in the front area waiting for tables. Don't be fooled by the huge crowd spilling out of the restaurant or in the front lobby. I've never had to wait longer than 2 minutes for a table. The restaurant is huge. The food is cheap, but good. You really get a lot for a little. I've been to Cheddar's at least 20 times & always come here at least once when I'm in Columbus. On my latest visit I ordered the Bourbon glazed salmon over rice (lunch portion) with broccoli and a side salad. My bill was $10! The side salad is ALWAYS my go to side. It's really good! It comes with chopped carrots, tomatoes, boiled chopped eggs, croutons, the best buttered croissant ever, & that watery but good restaurant ranch. The side salad almost fills you up. The salmon is great and the lunch portion is more than enough food. It has always been cooked perfectly when I've ordered it. You can get the salmon blackened or Bourbon glazed; the Bourbon glaze comes on the side. The rice underneath is ok, just add a little Bourbon glaze for flavor. The broccoli is steamed and just feels like it goes with salmon. But there are so many other good sides if you're not in a healthy mood. The service is usually pretty quick for a big restaurant. The bar area is filled with tvs. Good food (I'd also recommend the chicken strips, mozzarella sticks, chicken Alfredo pasta...and probably everything on the menu) and even better prices! read more

This is really a 3.5 star review. I came here on Thursday April 12 for dinner because I wanted spinach and artichoke dip and broccoli casserole. There wasn't a wait even though the parking lot was mostly full. There might have been more people out on the patio. My waitress was extremely attentive and my water never went empty. I order the spinach and artichoke dip right away. Then I figured out what my meal was going to be. The reason for the decrease is the fact that the kitchen did not manage their orders. My dip came out followed shortly by my main course. There was no time for me to even eat any dip. Luckily the second server recommended taking my main course back for a bit. Everything tasted great. My family and I had dinner here the other day, and I have to say our waitress Chelsea was the bomb! I haven't had a waitress this good in a long time. When I tell you she was on it! Need a refill, she's done it, need ketchup shes bringing it to you before you even say anything... hell she even knew what I wanted before I did. Not to mention, Chelsea loves the kids... that's always a plus. My daughter was a little upset that they didn't have the kids menus where she could color on the back.
