First, the restaurant itself is an eclectic burst of pure joy, who could not like those giant chickens? Second, it has a trap door! For whatever reason, I absolutely love a secret door! Third, Tanya was wonderful! She recommended the perfect breakfast for our taste buds and was a wealth of information. Finally, the food was hot, fresh and so very D-LISH-US! Those biscuits, yummy!

The waitress was nice and kept calling us "baby" and "baby girl". Must be a thing in the South. The food was decent. But the fried chicken was a bit heavy and the decor a bit too kitschy for me personally.

Crispy chicken salad

Me and wife stopped in here for a late lunch. We were able to get a table but as we were walking up quite a few people were leaving so I believe it gets pretty crowded and it's not very large. The waitress was extremely friendly as were all the staff there. I got the 4 piece chicken strips with biscuit and tots as a side. The wife got the crispy chicken salad. My strips were very good. Not huge but decent size and cooked and seasoned well. The tots were also good and very crispy. Now the biscuit was phenomenal. The wife said her salad was also great. Lettuce and ingredients were crisp and fresh and the chicken was delicious. Would definitely go back.

The place was super cozy. Service was very quick and friendly. The food came out very quick and was fresh. The tater tots were so crispy and flavorful. Large portion sizes, left feeling very full. Even got offered a coffee to take in a to go cup.

Chicken biscuit combo

Fluffy, filling and fresh, and was a pretty damn good biscuit! The small custom designed inside vibe was cool too and the menu items named after the owners family members was a nice touch! However, it took a whileeeeeee to get my order taken, get my food and get the check , I don't know if they were understaffed or what!

Plucked Up w/ Egg

Plucked Up Chicken & Biscuits is a downtown Columbus, GA breakfast/lunch eatery, of course, specializing in chicken and biscuits. Serving breakfast and lunch for over a decade, Plucked Up is a sister restaurant of Mark's City Grill and Hunter's Pub & Steakhouse, all concepts of restauranteer Mark Jones. My husband is from Columbus, GA, so we have a tradition of visiting for Thanksgiving. We stayed a little longer than normal to attend a family mini-reunion held at the nearby Hampton Inn Columbus Downtown. We were starving and needed a quick bite to eat, and Plucked Up was the closest non-fast food restaurant open. Plucked Up is an intimate eatery with exposed brick walls showcasing brightly colored, eclectic meets country decor. The wait staff was super friendly and welcoming despite a packed eatery. Our to-go order came out so quickly, I didn't finish taking my usual quantity of pictures. We both ordered Plucked Up Biscuits (my husband added an egg to his). I am actually shaking my head as to why we hadn't been to Plucked Up during prior visits to Columbus. The biscuits were buttery and fluffy, the chicken was crispy and flavorful, and the pineapple marmalade had the right level of sweetness. I was eyeing the biscuit beignets being served as we walked out, and something tells me that the chelsea (fried chicken, pimento cheese, bacon, and jalapeño jelly) will be life-affirming.

Thats the way to start a day!!!

A great spot downtown Columbus, great service from Tonya and the food comes out fast.... Like a rocket! Very cool vibe inside with lots to look at in the 1 minute until food arrives. Lol. Biscuits are huge and perfect as is the sausage/ ham/ breakfast potatoes and eggs. A must go!

The food was very good & unique. I had Plucked Up Chicken eggs Benedict over biscuits. The ham was real ham sliced thick covered by the eggs & the Benedict sauce. The ambience was appealing and also unique. Very friendly people and reasonably priced.

It was busy and lively for Thursday morning, I bet it is packed during the weekend rush hours. The interior was funky and fun, with lots of interesting things on display. It was a nice size with a good number of tables and chairs, and also had a small bar counter with handful of seats. Their menu was separated into three sections, easy to see and understand exactly what you are gong to get. Since this is a place that focuses on Chicken and Biscuit, we made sure to get something with Chicken and Biscuit. We went with 2 Egg Breakfast and The Chicken Coop, with a cup of coffee which came with free refills. 2 Egg Breakfast can have choice of meat with additional charge. We added fried chicken. The fried chicken pieces did not look like much, but they were great! It was finger-licking good! Grits had solid flavor and comforting. The biscuit was so fluffy and airy, buttery and delicious! We were very happy with this order. The Chicken Coop was much bigger in portion than expected, and what a display! We added fried chicken to this order as well. It was very good, a comfort food at its best! It had everything you want in every bite. It sure was the champion of breakfast. We had a really nice breakfast here. It seems like it was very popular among the locals, and I can understand the reason why. The service was very friendly and welcoming. The food is affordable and comforting. We enjoyed every bite!

Cute and cozy restaurant, with a friendly atmosphere.Service was quick and our server was very friendly and pleasant, the food was so delicious, I had the chicken coop, it was the perfect combo, 2 biscuits and gravy covered with eggs, cheese and chopped fried chicken. Best biscuits and gravy hands down, super creamy not overly seasoned or salty, biscuits were fluffy and perfect, chicken was super tasty, seasoned well and crispy. Definitely will be back to try some of the other items on the menu, if back in the area, lots of yummy sounding items to choose from. Restaurant is on the smaller size, for a group of would fit comfortably at their available tables but maybe not the best place for larger groups due to seating availability unfortunately.

We "Plucked Up" and found the cutest little chicken & biscuit breakfast spot located in downtown Columbus, where breakfast is served all day until 3pm. I ordered the Biscuit Benedict with my poached egg a little more in the firm side, oh the hallandaise sauce was on point. Our server LAYNIE was friendly as they come, very knowledgeable of the menu she represents impeccable service very well. There's plenty of parking outside, so no worries there. When I'm in town again I'm making a bee line right here for another biscuit creation.

The food was amazing. I had chicken and grits and my partner had french toast biscuits. They are both highly recommended.

I'm here for a week and this is my second amazing lunch here (and I highly recommend their Build…read moreYo Poke restaurant, too). You literally can make limitless combos to have your salad exactly as you want. All dressings are made in-house, which is pretty impressive. You can order a rice bowl with ingredients, too. The portions are beyond generous (a small salad would be considered large elsewhere) and the array of ingredients and toppings is exceptional. On my first visit, I ordered a small spinach salad with grilled salmon. As toppings, I added chopped red onion, shredded carrot, pineapple, mandarin oranges, blueberries, chopped strawberries, chopped beet, blue cheese, sliced avocado, dried cranberries with their in house made raspberry vinaigrette. It was literally one of the most delicious salads I've ever had. I was so stuffed from the generous portion that I didn't need dinner. On my second visit, I got a veggie wrap with grilled chicken, chickpeas, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, shredded carrot, blue cheese, sliced avocado. I got the in-house buttermilk ranch dressing on the side (and ended up not using it-sandwich was amazing without it). I was asked if I wanted chicken warmed (I didn't) and I was amazed at the skill of the preparer who was able to tightly wrap the ginormous quantity of ingredients into the wrap and halve it. I only ate half my sandwich so I have lunch for tomorrow. Win-win. The black cherry tarragon soda was so good as was the Italian lemon soda. Their soups sounded great as did their desserts. The staff was so friendly and helpful. (Don't forget to tip!) The tvs on the walls show cool food art being made. I'd come here and their Poke place at least twice a week for lunch if I lived locally. Prices are extremely reasonable for quality and quality of food.

For $6 (not including tax) I got the "Bouncing blueberry salad" which comes with spring mix,…read moresunflower seeds, blueberries, carrots, and radishes. And man was it good! It's promoted as the energy builder. I had the Raspberry vinaigrette to top it and it was like the icing on the cake! One container of it is enough. We ordered a couple of their specialty salads and were not disappointed. They were packaged to go but we ended up dining in. See photo for cute to-go pic. There was a complimentary water station with 2 offerings: a cucumber water and a ginger infused water. I never had ginger water before and i really liked it! My Bouncing Blueberry salad tasted as fresh as i expected, it was chock full of ingredients and very filling. I highly recommend this veteran-owned business and supporting their mission of spreading preventative health education thru food.
