Visiting from California and this is hands down the best bbq I've ever had. The ribs are fall off the bone tender, the bbq sandwich is loaded with meat and so flavorful. The turkey is so moist and flavorful, never had turkey this moist. So good. For the sides, we got the: baked beans, Mac and cheese, butter beans, mashed potato casserole, banana pudding, peach cobbler and the mud pie. All were delicious. Mud pie was rich and fluffy. Peach cobbler was very sweet, and the banana pudding was delicious and light just like the mud pie. I didn't wait too long to get my food even on a busy Friday night. I stopped here for lunch yesterday. Sat at the bar, had a local lager. The bartender was really nice. For lunch, I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, which came with two sides. I got their jalapeño cheese grits and potato salad. Normally I prefer a mayonnaise based potato salad. This had a little of both Mayo and mustard and was pretty good. The grits were heavenly, and the pulled pork was so tender! I will be back to try their ribs! Fun vibes here. I was visiting Columbus and wanted a casual place to get some Southern food, and Moe's had what I was looking for. The place has an industrial look with a good amount of seating and a small arcade area. There's a dog-friendly patio, convenient for the dog park nearby. It's self-service where you order at the counter and get a buzzer to pick up your food when it's ready, and there's also a bar to get alcoholic drinks. The girl who took my order was so sweet! I changed my mind one of my side twice AFTER I had already placed my order, and she was so chill about making a note on the order ticket to change it, and when I apologized for being difficult, told me she just wanted me to get what I wanted. She left while I was still eating, and on her way out checked on me to see if I was happy with my final choice (I was). I got the Fried Shrimp Platter. The shrimp weren't big but there were a lot! They weren't greasy and the peppery batter was tasty! I had coleslaw and collard greens for my sides. I'd recommend not getting the coleslaw with the shrimp since it already includes a small serving of coleslaw and pickles, but I really liked the slaw so I didn't mind getting to eat a whole serving of it. The collards were also really good - they had a smoky and subtly sweet flavour. They were cooked with sausage and bacon which I wasn't expecting (but definitely contributed a lot to the taste) and had actually been trying to avoid, but I'd assume for most people at a barbeque joint, meat is not an issue, and I realize now that it's common to cook collards with meat, I just didn't know any better because you cannot get this stuff where I live. The cornbread was the moist style that I like, and the slight char was really nice. After all that I realized I could go for a dessert, so I went back up and ordered a small banana pudding, which totally wowed me. It was so creamy, not cloyingly sweet, and the wafer crumbs gave it such a nice texture. I ordered it because I was curious and am now a banana pudding fan. To be perfectly clear, I do not eat meat besides seafood, and I haven't had much exposure to real Southern food, so the target audience here of meat-loving Southerners can take my impressions of this place with a grain of salt, but I had to leave a review anyway to share my good experience! read more

Moe's original BBQ is new to the city. It's a pretty cool nice gym to go eat at. The prices were reasonable, and the staff is very friendly. I must say the place is very clean. I got the rib plate (6 bones), greens, and Mac and cheese. I got my ribs with no BBQ sauce. They were great the smoke ring in the ribs was a wonderful sight to see and the seasoning was just right. Not to much or less. I was pretty surprised at the collard greens. They had a slight sweet taste, with I think pork sausage. They tasted great. The M&C was mid. I didn't care for it at all, not enough cheese for me, and kinda dry. It also came with a side of cornbread that was about a 6. I would say go check out this place it's a nice vibe. read more

I went to Moe's for lunch with my grandpa and uncle, while in town visiting. I'm not the biggest bbq person so I didn't go with high expectations, but I actually really liked it! I ordered a pulled pork sandwich, which comes with 2 sides. The only thing that was disappointing is that they didn't have any mayo, but they suggested I try the white sauce so I did. The sandwich was good. For my sides, I ordered chips mac and cheese, which was a special side on their board. The mac and cheese was really good! I would definitely get that again when I go back. This Moe's location is located at Midcity Yards, right beside Fetch Dog Park. You can take your dog inside to order food, but then you need to sit outside on their large deck to eat with your pup. So after my first initial 6 times we went for 7th and final 8th time. The last 2 times did it for me as I ordered half-chicken and it was literally raw with blood squirting out of it. I eat a low carb diet and this hit the spot. I don't normally eat out, but I would recommend this place. I think the owner or manager talked to my date and I and was very nice and warm. First time in, such a unique and welcoming place. I love their ordering process and pickup window... It's a real all-hands-on-deck type of environment. What really knocked it out of the park was the guy at the pickup counter. After giving us our food, he came back and offered us FRESH sides of mac n cheese. I've been a couple of times now hoping to be surprised, but each time I've come away with a feeling that Moe's Original BBQ was an okay, overpriced meal, that took too long to make. In a city that has numerous BBQ options, the only thing that stands out at Moe's Original BBQ is the dog park next door. The service doesnt seemed that streamlined. There have been times that even though I was the only customer ordering, it took 10 minutes to assemble my order, despite having seven people behind the counter. The pulled pork for sure is the best option here, I'd suggest trying it with their white sauce. The smoked wings tasted more like normal buffalo wings to me than smoked wings. The ribs are big and as such may have sections that are less tender than others and are best shared with company. I've tried multiple sides and have yet to find one that stood out among the crowd. So sure, if you're out with your favorite four legged friend and you need $13 pulled pork sandwich, Moe's will have you covered after a 10/20 minute wait. If you're just looking for lunch though you may want to go to one of the many other local bbq joints that can give you the same meal for half the price (or greater) and in half the time. read more

I know this is crazy to say but they are the best wings in Columbus. Smoked chicken wings for the win! Great collard greens especially with the homemade pepper sauce. The service was really good sitting at the bar. My wife loved her smoked chicken sandwich and the mashed potato casserole. The beer is also really cold. I went to this establishment for the first time today and I will say I will never go back . The cashier was a little nasty because she had to keep asking what I said because I had my face mask on and the guy that prepared this disgusting looking sandwich put on his gloves then walked to the back with the cashier then came back and prepared my sandwich. He did not switch out his gloves for all I know he could have done something nasty while in the back with the rude cashier. Apparently wearing a mask in public now is frowned upon read more

Whoever reviewed and commented about price must not eat out in Columbus--Moe's prices are absolutely fair. My wife and I had lunch at Moe's on Friday. There was a good crowd, but their the service was pretty quick. The restaurant was clean and roomy. It has the typical dressings of a bbq restaurant. My wife had fried catfish with collard greens and Brunswick stew and I had the small (4) rib platter with Brunswick stew and potato salad. Both meals came with a big piece of cornbread. We both found our meals to be delicious and filling. I thought the cornbread was very tasty. The pricing is comparable to other local bbq places. Good place to eat! read more
