Everything hot and freshly prepared. Service is average for area- friendly and not put off by my many questions about their variety of sauces. Sitting are clean and not crammed too full of tables-just enough. Room to maneuver in the sometimes crowed waiting area. Music was a bit loud for me but not offensive. The one thing they lacked was unsweet tea. I am not from the South and sugar in drinks is not my thing so to not have unsweet-even if it is just a stand alone pitcher- was a disappointment. Otherwise, this will be a new favorite!

Specifically ordered grilled grouper combo. Waited 20 minutes. When order number was called she opened the box. I said, this is grilled? Knowing what fried fish looks like. She replied, Yes. I said, ok and left. Didn't have time for them to fix it. SMH. Why lie? The ticket clearly said grilled. read more

Some of the best wings in Columbus. I grew up up in Buffalo, NY, so I know my Buffalo wings. Excellent selection of flavors in all different quantities. I got the Hot, Lemon Pepper and Honey BBQ - all delicious. Service was fast and friendly. Bathrooms were very clean. Would definitely return here! read more

I order from them 2-4 times a week. It's probably a bit much, but their food is THAT GOOD. They always make my food exactly the way I love it. I've never complained or sent it back. They always do a little extra for each order and it's endearing. They are my favorite wing place and one of my top 5 Georgia Restaurants. 10/10 recommend eating here. They def have made a loyal, life long customer out of me. read more

This small place is great! My group got the wing combo, tenders, and fried fish. You really can't go wrong with either! Chicken and the sauces are plenty and really good. The only things I'll nitpick are the fries are ok and the wings were small in my opinion. However, the wings are so saucy that I used it as dip. And a lot of places have small wings since COVID. Love this place. AMAZINGGG selection of not only wings, but salads and fish as well. Great flavors, LOVEEE the honey bbq and garlic parmesan. They also split flavors in a single order if you ask (:. Building is clean, and you can season up your fries and food on the side after you get your order (also helps you make sure everything is there, not that I've ever had a problem with missing food here). Huge amount of food, they don't skimp on sauce or fries in the to-go boxes. People are always nice and helpful. One of my favorite places to get wings in colga, beats the chain places any day. read more

I'm so grateful my best friend told me about this place. The servings are pretty good sized. My kids loved the fried rice which is surprising because they're ridiculously picky. The wings are crispy and not soggy from being soaked in sauce. Love coming here when I'm craving wings. read more

First time visiting the business, food is good. However the customer service was not it's best. When the service is poor it changes the customer experience. Found a new spot to stop for quick take home at the end of the day. Columbus is loaded with wing spots these days, some good,some not so good. Most areas, the service makes the difference between a good restaurant and a bad one. Bad service will make me not come back no matter the quality of the food. I'm happy to say that so far, JD Wings is worth the stop. Great food, Great service, good price! And a Gold Standard Philly Cheese Steak. The Best I've ever tasted! A must try. read more

The quality of the buffet was not great and I standby many items were being left out much too long and not being covered and protected, including the hot entrées and the casseroles. Our server approached with the quiet confidence of someone who knows her craft--she was direct, professional, and all business in the best possible way. Even as closing time drew near, she kept my glass refreshed without needing to be asked, a small but telling detail that spoke volumes about her attentiveness. The space itself strikes a pleasant semi-formal note--clean, polished, and respectful without veering into stuffy territory. Behind the bar, the bartender was meticulously wiping down every bottle, a quiet display of care that set a tone of genuine pride in the operation. We began with a dozen oysters: six raw and six char-grilled. The raw specimens were on the petite side for the price, yet delivered a clean, bright, and pleasantly saline flavor that let the oyster speak for itself. The char-grilled version arrived with a savory Parmesan crust that brought its own appealing character--rich, cheesy, and nicely caramelized in a way that felt unique rather than derivative. The crab dip, however, was a standout. Far superior to the often disappointing versions we've encountered elsewhere, this one tasted of genuine lump crab meat, folded into a properly cheesy, indulgent dip that avoided any unfortunate "buffalo" detours. Served with crisp crostini, each bite was balanced and deeply satisfying--an authentic crab dip done right. The Korean cheesesteak offered an excellent harmony of flavors: tender, well-seasoned meat beneath a luxurious blanket of melted cheese, punctuated by the bright, spicy kick of kimchi and the refreshing snap of pickles. It was delicious, though for the price, I wished for a more generous filling and a bit more heft to the sandwich overall. The mac & cheese arrived in a commendably generous portion, with a beautiful Parmesan crust on top. Visually appealing, the dish unfortunately fell a touch flat on the palate. The noodles were properly cooked and coated in a creamy sauce, yet it lacked the depth and seasoning one hopes for-- a pinch more salt and pepper would have elevated it considerably. The fish and chips presented a towering mound of fries that carried decent flavor but lacked the shattering crispness one craves. The real disappointment lay in the presentation of the fish: two fillets stacked atop one another, causing the steaming heat to turn the once-promising breading soggy and prone to sliding off. That said, the fish itself was excellent--flaky, moist, and delicately sweet with a lovely buttery quality. It was the unfortunate interaction between steam and crust that kept the dish from greatness. The roads were a little dense, so not necessarily my particular style, but I'm good. The butter that came with them was very unique to say the least. To drink, both beers arrived filled to the absolute brim and proved so enjoyable that I would gladly order them again without hesitation. Overall, the evening delivered solid, thoughtful plates in a well-run environment, with several bright spots that make a return visit tempting--particularly for those oysters and that excellent crab dip.

I found the shrimp super flavorful. They are prepared by weight, not numbers, so the shrimp count is between 5-7. The cocktail sauce was tasty. I ordered my steak medium rare. It was just over that, but still so tasty, juicy, and tender. The grits were a stand out! They were so good that our table got an extra side to share. Our server, Addison was such a personality and knowledgeable about the menu. Her service convinced me that I could trust her with basically anything. We sat outside, so we never got further than the threshold so I can't say I know too much about the vibe inside. However, there was great people watching, GREAT food, and great company. The combo appetizer was largely disappointing and difficult to justify for the price. The chicken quesadilla was bland and desperately needed seasoning. The fritters were even more underwhelming, tasting primarily of fryer oil with no texture, depth, or discernible flavor. The lone bright spot was the chorizo-stuffed jalapeños, which were flavorful, well-prepared, and easily the best item on the appetizer platter. The accompanying chipotle ranch was also excellent and complemented them nicely. The salsa, however, completely stole the show. It's still my favorite salsa anywhere in the Columbus area by a wide margin. The complimentary chips arrived warm and fresh, an often-overlooked detail that made an immediate positive impression. The guacamole had a smooth, fresh texture but was noticeably under-seasoned and needed more salt. The portion size was also disappointingly small considering the price. The combination plate featuring the chile poblano and steak chimichanga was the evening's biggest letdown. The refried beans tasted as though they had been scooped straight from a can, while the rice was one of the few successes of the meal--well-seasoned, perfectly cooked, and fluffy. The chile poblano was shockingly small, easily the smallest I've ever been served, and lacked any real character. The ground beef filling was bland, resulting in little more than a soft, flavorless mound. The steak chimichanga was equally disappointing in both size and execution. It was so small it looked more appropriate for a children's menu. While the steak itself was tender, it lacked seasoning and was excessively greasy. I found myself repeatedly pouring salsa over nearly every bite just to introduce some flavor to the plate. The Plato Loco continued the trend of undersized portions. Once again, the rice was cooked beautifully, and the meat itself was tender, but the overall dish was remarkably bland. Nearly all of the flavor came from the cheese sauce rather than the ingredients themselves. On a positive note, the extra tortillas arrived piping hot, fresh, and delicious. Unfortunately, the service mirrored the kitchen's inconsistency. Our server was largely absent throughout the meal. Drinks sat empty multiple times, our basket of chips often remained without salsa, and we repeatedly had to flag him down for refills and basic table service. This restaurant was once my favorite Mexican restaurant in Columbus, which makes this visit especially disappointing. Whether the focus has shifted to the newer Phoenix City location or something else has changed behind the scenes, the difference is impossible to ignore. The generous portions that once set this restaurant apart have shrunk dramatically, and the bold flavors that kept us coming back have largely disappeared. Aside from the outstanding salsa and a few isolated highlights, this meal felt uninspired and poorly executed. It was a disappointing experience that leaves me questioning whether I'll be returning anytime soon.

Went here on Tuesday to get dinner for my family after hearing recommendations from friends. The wings, fish, and philly cheese sandwiches were great and everything was well priced. They had an entire clear plastic barrier from the ceiling to the counter between the cashiers and customers which I really appreciated as well, especially with the covid-19 pandemic. Saw them sanitizing all the counters every once in a while too. Overall, a nice clean restaurant to feed your family on a budget! read more

My wife and I really like the wings. We are close to being experts on judging wings.... well at least we think so. The wings at JD's are very unique and tasty. They are medium sized wings and are coated lightly with flour (not battered). The medium sauce is good and the taste reminds me of Frank's Hot sauce. The service is fast and the place is super clean!! Only con: No call in orders. They do not post their number anywhere! read more
