We weren't impressed with our dinning experience at the Texas Roadhouse. We had to wait for our bread and butter to make it to the table and when it did they were a little doughy. We both had sweet teas with our meals. I ordered a 1/2 slab of ribs along with steak fries and a salad with thousand island dressing. My better half ordered the smothered chicken along with a sweet potato and a salad with blue cheese dressing. Our meals were average at best. Now I understand why the parking lot is always packed. I've only dined here once prior to this visit and I'm so glad I decided to dine here. The hostess asked if I had dined there before and I told her it had been well over a year ago. Well, the manager on duty brought us a free appetizer coupon to use at our next visit. I thought that was really sweet. Samantha was our waitress and she was the absolute best! Her recommendation for one of the sides I selected was spot on. I cleared the entire plate. I literally down loaded yelp to review this restaurant because how bad it was. Came in with a party of 9 at 11:30 when it was not busy and the restaurant had many empty tables, but was told we couldn't get seated until 12 because the server who takes parties wouldn't come until then. Mind you, I've worked in a restaurant for years and made no sense to me. So we ended up having to split our party because the ONLY party tables, were split with tables consisting of 3 or 2 guests. Again, makes no sense. Sat down and silverware was dirty with dried food still on them. Both our tables had to ask for new or plastic silverware. With the new silver still not being "clean". Already tremendously to a bad start, but thought maybe the food would be good. Knowing the restaurant business, a million of things could be going wrong but the food could make up for everything, I ordered the chicken and ribs, and it was mediocre at best. Overly sauced meats, at small portions and was not worth the price and wait. Server was fine, not issues at all. Did not see a manager checking on guests, and whoever they are they need to take better care of their restaurant and update their policies to the current service industry. While my food was fantastic, medium steak with mashed potatoes and steak fries, and my husband's pulled pork sandwich was well...a bit on the dry side but still good...the service was a bit lacking. The host seemed a bit annoyed that we were there. She was hunched over, and when she sat us, no "Enjoy" or " your waiter will be right with you" nothing. Yes it was about an hour until close, but you can please make us feel more welcome and confident in our choice of dining thanks. Our waiter rocked. And well the rolls that were also given to us were rocks--not actual rocks just a little hard than the soft rolls I'm accustomed to. Nonetheless still I ate them. I brought a work colleague with me today as he's had a little exposure to steakhouses so this was nearby and thought we'd give it a shot. Place was fairly busy, got sat quickly in a booth and our waitress was spot on ready to get our drinks. We got a beer and a soda and looked at the menu as I was trying to help him figure out what he wanted to try that he hadn't really heard before. He settled on the sirloin and shrimp to get started and he was ecstatic! He ordered medium to medium well so it came out with very little paint the way he liked it I ordered a fillet rare to medium rare and it was perfect. I probably been to 80 of these restaurants around the country but that was a file worthy of my kitchen which I was very impressed. For the price points the good service excellent food I have to read this is one of the best Texas roadhouse I've been to in many many years. Went here for our 28th wedding anniversary on a Tuesday the place was packed. We gave our name for 2 and the "hostess" didn't even look up from her iPad. She took our name and telephone number and advised it would be a 30 minute wait. We went to the car to wait. We received the text assuming our table was ready. Why else would they text? We went inside just to have to wait another 10 minutes. At that time we left. Why text if table isn't even ready? The "hostesses" were off putting showing no personality and not even greeting people. I went for lunch for a celebratory meal with family and WOW have the aesthetics changed the cleanliness of the restaurant as a whole have diminished. Much has changed since Covid workers didn't come back, so therefore establishments are short of hand. Therefore, I do expect wait times and prices to have changed that I accept. However because of xo I'd you would think CLEANLINESS would still be at the forefront.... NAH not here in Columbus. It wasn't even 12 and and the bathrooms were a wreck. Food NOT the peanuts was still left on the floor from the previous customers, the sat is down in wet seats from just being wiped down .... Sontag felt really nice. to pair with sticky menus ... none the less we ate! The food with specifics to the rib-eye lack flavor it was simply cooked. Sweet potato was cooked with a good bit of char and hey broccoli is hit or miss when you go out right Barb was our server who was awesome in customer care she had the bar area she was hopping and tried her best to accommodate all her tables but could have used some side help for the replenish of beverages. As soon as I arrived and noticed them I was there the food was being walked out. Server was friendly and ran back inside for plastic utensils when I asked. They didn't provide napkins, but luckily I had some in my hotel room. I got their Country Fried Chicken, smothered in white gravy, with two sides. Gravy comes in a separate container so chicken doesn't get soggy. The chicken and gravy were awesome. For my sides I got the Honey Butter / Brown Sugar Sweet Potato, which was really good just a little small, and their Seasoned Rice. The rice had good flavor, just a tad bit too salty for my liking (but others might think it was just right). Went to Texas Roadhouse today at 11:35 for lunch. It was not at all crowded but the young blondheaded hostess said it would be a 20-30 minute wait. She said in a somewhat abrupt and rude manner that we would need to sit outside. Went outside to find most seats outside were taken. I then ask her if we could just sit at the bar and she replied we could sit at the bar but not at any bar tables. Quite honestly, the hostess was not at all customer friendly and acted like she didn't care if we stayed or left. Rather than endure the rather unpleasant experience we decided to leave and try another restaurant. All ended well at the other restaurant but be assured we will not go back to the TRH and endure the uncaring and rude behavior of this young hostess. I owned a large business in Columbus and would have never let anyone like her work for me or treat my customers like she treated us. TL;DR Disappointing, steaks weren't good, chili was terrible, took a long time to even get the food to the table. I left a review of my local store 3 years ago on Google and it was around a 4.6-4.8 star review. Unfortunately, since then it seems that every visit is more disappointing than the last, culminating in my visit last night. It didn't take long to get seated, but it took literally an hour to get our side salads, and I had to ask the server to check on our entrées, which then miraculously appeared about 2 minutes later. The 2 steaks were incredibly salty and about room temp. My bowl of chili was horrible. I've had the chili before and it was good, but this bowl looked like dog food and tasted like a can of Hormel that had chunks of a hamburger mixed with it. Not just ground beef, but actual chunks of hamburger. And pieces of green beans. It was barely edible. Our server was very nice and on point with drink refills and pre-bussing the table, but I think she was off her game because of a situation at another table (not going into details). The appetizers were good (Rattlesnake bites and fried pickles) and the rolls were great, but the overall experience, and the continued decline in quality, ensures we will not be going back any time soon. read more

The food was excellent! Filets and potatoes and salads were what we expect at TRH. We had a new server who seemed less attentive and spread thin but Thomas was very respectful when he was there. Please teach your servers that it is quite rude to pass a to go box or anything over the booth wall. They need to address the table at table side, not passing anything over our food in that manner. Also of a serious note, I have had to make it a habit to check my silverware before I use it in all restaurants. Your servers and kitchen staff should also be checking when washing or rolling napkins. One fork had food stuck to it and the other had rough edges on both exterior tines and on the surface of the food side of the fork. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience last night and these few service oriented issues won't keep us away. The cowgirl's bathroom was moderately clean but the smell outside the door while waiting on another patron to exit was nasty. It was that foul smell in greasy water soaked floors in the restaurant business. Yuck! Good restaurants are not limited to tasty food and plate presentation.
