We ordered two Meat & 2's and both consisted of A Big Fat Fried Chicken Breast, Black-Eyed Peas and Mac n Cheese. As always the chicken was cooked perfectly. Crispy on the outside with that perfect fried chicken skin and totally moist meat. The mac n cheese was very moist, not really runny and the texture was the perfect chew. No mushiness and no hard noodles. The black-eyed peas were out of this world good. They had a bit of spice in them and cooked good ole' Southern Style...cooked! We ate and ate until there was not more room. We gladly took our left overs for another wonderful meal. As we were leaving I said, oh, no "I forgot to take pictures. So I went and broke in line and took a couple of the cafeteria style food that everyone was so patiently waiting to be served. The staff works extremely hard. The restaurant is very clean. And the food is absolutely delicious. They do take togo orders and sometimes the line is out the door. They are closed on Saturdays. Highly recommend one try if in the area. Prices have remained relatively low while other places have increased their prices drastically. Our two meals which included drinks and tax was about $21. You can still buy a whole fried wing for under $2...it is $1.95.

This is classic, southern food at its best! The catfish tonight was on point! The mac and cheese is absolute gooey, cheesy perfection! The purple hull peas are so scrumptious! I'm a new fan of Pannie-George's!

The service was great, and the atmosphere had that classic country-kitchen breakfast spot feel. The food was good, I wouldn't say it completely blew me away, but we definitely enjoyed our meal. We both ordered veggie omelets, and while the eggs could've used a little more seasoning, once I added some salt and pepper, they were great. I also had the biscuits and gravy, which were delicious and probably my favorite part of the meal! My girlfriend ordered the mini waffles and absolutely loved them. Overall, Mabel's was a solid breakfast spot with friendly service, good food, and a comfortable atmosphere. It was the perfect stop to fuel up before continuing our anniversary trip to Callaway Gardens. We'd definitely stop by again if we're in the area!

The menu is mostly fried food. I asked if they have any seafood that's not fried and was told that if it wasn't too busy they could grill something. We chose the clam strips, fish and chips and catfish. Clam strips were a little dried out but they still were tasty. Both the haddock and the catfish were nicely done. Both meals came with fries and hush puppies. Didn't like the pups. All in all it's a reasonably priced place for what you get. Food and service was good.

The staff were friendly and welcoming, the dining area clean and comfortable. There were no lids on the chafing dishes. $35 is not a lot though and while we appreciate the time in cooking, the quality of the food was not great and we ate 1/4 of each plate and we only had one plate each Finally, we gave our server eight $20 cash gratuity for the two of us and it wasn't until we got home that we realized there was an additional gratuity of 15 or $16 or something on our $70 bill so the waitress actually made $35 gratuity on a $70 bill if not more. When we were giving her the cash gratuity, it would've been good if she would've notified us we were also going to be charged on my card for the gratuity I think saying that we only ate 25% of the food we took from the buffet and watching how many people were leaving was a clear indication. The quality of the buffet was not great and I standby many items were being left out much too long and not being covered and protected, including the hot entrées and the casseroles. Lesson learned and thank thank you

This is a hole in the wall place so don't be detered by the ambience as there isn't much but oh wow, the food and the service. Those deserve five stars for sure. The chef personally came out and explained to us what she used and what she recommended. Being a vegetarian , she knew how to make side dishes good without any meat which was a plus for us since we had a vegetarian in our group. See menu attached but how it works is they give you a piece of paper with what's available and if you want meat, you circle one meat and two side dishes for $9.99. This price is great because it also comes with rice, and a roll or cornbread and a drink. You definitely cannot get that deal anywhere else. We decided to go crazy and ordered a bunch more of their other side dishes and they were about $2 - $2.50 each and well worth it. Give them a try, I promise you won't regret it. Note: don't use the bathroom if you don't have to since it's in a weird part of the house/restaurant. In no way is it dirty but it just a makeshift bathroom located in a weird room.
