Ordered 3 mint juleps (on the menu) not very certain what was delivered to us but that was the worst drink I think I have ever ordered. Everything else was fine, service and scenery is good. But please take that mint juleps off the menu if that's how you make them. read more

Absolutely awesome place man I really miss this bar when I was at Benning. Wish they had one in central oregon.

I was acknowledged and served quite expeditiously, and the cocktail and cigar was marvelous. The ambience is very warm,classy, cozy, and inviting. I was very surprised to see a bar with conservatively and nicely dressed ladies sitting in small groups or some ladies, like my self, just sitting alone enjoying the atmosphere with no worries. Their selection and atmosphere is absolutely exceptional and their service is unparalleled Matt, Matt, and Jess are extremely knowledgeable in all things whiskey and Columbus in general. The atmosphere at 18th Amendment is just what you need after a long work week. They have some amazing drinks. If you are open to trying new things, ask the bartender to surprise you. There is a cigar shop at the entrance with decent cigars for those who enjoy a relaxing evening with a cigar. The bar does allow smoking indoors, and they have some efficient ventilation system that clears out all that cigar smoke rather quickly. Great place to sit and chat with good company. read more

The staff needs keep their hands to themselves. Last night the bartender took it upon herself to hit the hat off the head of one of the guests sitting at our table. She then ran off stating that there are no hats allowed inside, however this was never told to us upon entry. That being said she was incredibly unprofessional, and just in general a horrible way to resolve a situation. The BARSTAFF and specifically this female bartender needs to understand and respect personal space and never remove anything from someone without first having their consent to do so. Last night was by far the worst experience I have ever had in my life as far customer service was concerned. There is one female server in the establishment that has poor customer service skills and I'm sure she lacks experience. I came to the establishment with a few friends after dinner. We walked in and sat down she asked my friends what they were having and was glad to serve them, but when it came to me she said I was drunk and that she couldn't serve me but if Matt behind the bar did that was on him. However, she had already told Matt to cut me off by the time I got to the bar. He told me to have a few glasses of water and see him in 5-10 minutes. Me in my confusion due to the fact that I had TWO beers at dinner three hours prior started to observe. She served individuals after me that stumbled through the door and had slurred speech while giving her their orders. But in my confusion I observed and waited the time frame, by this time she was sitting at the bar texting, so I asked her if I was good for a drink now and she said no and went into a spill about responsibility; I know how Strict Liability Laws work. In no way after her initial interaction with me did her service to WHITE customers reflect that care or responsibility. Matt ended up serving me Maker's Mark on the rocks, but I was still befuddled. Why am I posting this? First and foremost I am never one to call anyone a racist because people grow up certain ways and need to be taught what's right. I cannot confirm it, but when you refuse to serve a sober black man, but serve a every stumbling white man afterwards, I have a reason to question your character and integrity. Secondly, in this particular kind of customer service/hospitality industry, I know that people have bad days so a bit of leeway is given. However, this is not the first time that I've seen her interact with customers in general, in a bad way. Then she'll go back to the bar and complain to Matt and Matt about the customers she's dealing with within earshot of other customers. And she just all around has a poor attitude, but as long as it wasn't directed towards me I never said a thing. I'm sure the owners of this bar own many others, so I believe it is incumbent upon to address my concerns in this manner. Simply because an individual employee's actions does not always represent the owner's/management's vision. As far as I'm concerned however, as long as she is there I will not support and let everyone I know not to support this establishment, until she is either retrained or terminated. You all do as you wish, but her behavior/character are in no way acceptable of what I would expect of anyone that ever works for me, or how people should treat others. read more

I was excited because I like speakeasy themed bars. However this bar let me down. It had a 10 buck cover. I walked in and was hit in the face. The cigar smoke was insane. I can take some but a cloudy haze is another thing. My party and I immediately walked out. I sat on the outside curb for a full minute coughing with the bouncer watching. He did not offer our cover back, even though we were in there for less than two minutes. He only said sorry you did not like. One of my party is a one pack a day smoker and said it was too smoky for her in there. This bar is not just horrible but inconsiderate. We were in there for less than two minutes. We should have gotten our cover back. Do NOT go to this bar. read more

So a new friend took me to this place on a Thursday night, and it was super quiet. We were the only ones at the huge bar. The space was beautifully decorated and their liquor selection was probably the best in town. I had an old fashioned, which was priced similarly to 11th & Bay ($12.) It was well made with top shelf whiskey. I'll definitely be back. They really nailed the speak easy feel with the entrance and decor. read more

First time there this weekend for my birthday with the wife. Overall ambiance was neat. The drinks were good. The cigar selection was terrible, mostly flavored stuff. Not only that, the cigars were WAY over priced. We got a Foundation Wise Man Maduro Toro and a RP Java Latte Toro. MSRP $13 + $11 = $24. Cost at register $43 for just those two cigars. That is gouging to say the very least. Additionally, I assumed that the ventilation system would have been above par considering it is boasted about by the place, however the environment inside was very very smoky. We left after about 25 minutes to go sit outside to finish the cigars. I counted 10 smokers at the time and the place could easily accommodate 45/50 smokers. I don't think you could breathe if the place was at capacity. Will not be going back after this initial visit. I'd much rather sit on my porch or across the river in nearby Phenix City and buy appropriately priced cigars. read more

Great quite spot for awesome custom drinks. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about drinks and cigars. Dress code of collared shirts and no hats for guys.
