We stated off with a spicy chicken & avacado eggroll appetizer, which we both thought was very good. She got the southwest chicken wrap with sweet potato fries. I got the houlihan burger with provolone and mushrooms. Food was very good. Our server was very attentive and friendly. We didn't understand the low reviews, but our visit was very good. We've been here twice when visiting. We've enjoyed our meals both times. Saturday afternoon, I had the appetizer sampler - mushrooms were especially good. My husband had the lunch combo salad & club sandwich combo - salad was larger than expected (that's a good thing). Sandwich was good too. The biggest negative is the bartender is also the hostess and the waitress - and she can't see people waiting to be seated while she's working at the bar. This place was a bit concerning. I would not recommend this to anyone. The best thing we tried was their spinach artichoke dip but it was definitely old and half the chips were soggy. We asked for the burger to be cooked medium and it was raw. It was uneditable. They should change the name of the chicken sandwich to the blue cheese sandwich. It was drenched in blue cheese. The fries were good and the waiter was very nice. He was the only person working the entire restaurant. He was the host, server, and the bartender and still did a great job. Ordered two salads with dressing on the side and sweet potato fries online. Arrived at the restaurant at the stated pick-up time, only to find out the order hadn't been processed yet and had to be manually sent through, which added a 20-minute wait. When I finally got the salads, they were drenched in dressing--so much that they were inedible. I called to request replacements, and they told me it would take another 20 minutes. When I returned, the chicken for my salad came in a separate container, but it was still covered in dressing. At this point, I was understandably frustrated. I asked them to take the salads off my bill since they weren't as ordered, and they offered to make me plain chicken with the sauce on the side. It's unclear why this wasn't done originally. We had our 1975 All Schools Reunion Meet and Greet in September on Houlihan's patio but some attendees chose to sit inside.The staff and management were outstanding! We hadn't been to Houlihan's in awhile. Were surprised at how much the prices had increased. Were also a little put off by how much smaller the Long Island teas are now. We both got the Thai noodle bowls, which were tasty. Mine had a little too much sauce and the core from the bok choy, to me this is inexcusable. Don't feed me garbage and charge top dollar, cores are garbage. The saving grace was our server, Landon. His service was exemplary. I go out to be served and he rocked it! We stayed at the Columbus Marriott and had dinner there one night. The young woman that waited on us was very pleasant and attentive. We had the scallops and a burger. Both were excellent. The atmosphere was pleasant and it seemed as though they were serious about the social distancing of guests. The staff was wearing masks. The next morning, we had breakfast there and although they were out of a couple of items on the menu, the food was good. Fresh fruit, crunchy french toast, hot coffee. The young lady that waited on us was pleasant as well. We appreciate the service and will be back next time we are traveling. read more

Columbus Marriott is a historic hotel with a fun restaurant attached called Houlihan's! Nice atmosphere with plenty of room at the bar, and an outdoor area if you're willing to brave the GA heat. I've frequented a few of times and have enjoyed their fried mushrooms, chicken piccata, club sandwich with fries, and salmon Caesar salad. They definitely have something for everyone on the menu. But my favorite way to enjoy Houlihan's is just sitting at the bar enjoying a drink and chatting. KayK is an amazing bartender who I can always trust to give me a delicious drink that packs a punch but hides the alcohol well. My favorite is definitely a hibiscus tea cocktail with gin and sour- so refreshing! So make sure you stop by the bar during your stay and enjoy yourself! read more

I have NEVER left a bad review. This negative review is in NO way a reflection toward the staff, but the corporation. Staff has been working hard all night!. They are short staffed!. The sweet girl serving the bar area was literally taking care of 25 people on her own. I waited one hour and 10 min and still had not placed my food order. The full dining area was staffed with 2 waitresses. The ladies apologized repeatedly. The staff's hourly rate is less then $3 an hour!! They are dependent upon tips to generate income. Tips??? Patrons are so angry due to the poor service (due to under staffing) they don't leave tips!! Houlihan's is located within the Marriott. Even the room service is poor. I've called multiple times with no answer. This reflects poorly on the Marriott as well, which is unfortunate. This particular Marriott is an incredible hotel. I don't want to discourage people from going to Houlihan's in Columbus GA,. It's a great restaurant with amazing staff. I'm hoping by leaving a negative review,upper management and/or the corporation will make changes for a better work environment and compensation for their employees and a better dining experience for customers. read more

BLUF*: Houlihan's has all the potential in the world if they can figure out staffing and kitchen issues. Fun place to come grab some drinks but I would pass on the food. FOOD: Okay at best. They need a new chef, work on timing, and consolidate their menu to a few items they are good at. I purchased the Caesar, chicken tortilla soup, and the spicy chicken and avocado egg rolls. I'll start with the good, the Caesar was a large portion, the dressing was delicious, and it was fresh. From there it got worse, the chicken tortilla soup was terrible. It tasted like they poured an entire bottle of salt into just my cup of soup. It also seemed like I got the bottom of the pot with all the overcooked left overs. I had maybe three bites and pushed the rest away. The egg rolls were extremely deep fried so the outside wrap was like a chip. This caused the chicken to be dried out and over cooked. Spicy? It didn't even have flavor. If anything it was kind of sweet from the avocado. Very disappointed. Let's talk about the kitchen now. My salad came out in about 30 seconds and then awkwardly waited for another 20 minutes for my soup. Just terrible back of the house situational awareness and planning. DRINKS: The bar tender (Kristen) was a sweetheart. She was extremely busy and overworked (COVID staffing strikes again), but always maintained attention on us and made sure she was checking in. I had simple Hendricks and Soda in a tall glass. I prefer spirit forward and she did not disappoint, the cocktail was well poured and delicious. Houlihan's has a decent tap list but a wide choice in spirits. AMBIANCE: can we talk about the same song on repeat? I feel like I'm back working retail having to listen to the same sound track over and over again. The interior is industrial and inviting. It's a large space but rather empty. I think their bad food and lack of servers is hurting their attendance. With that said, we enjoyed the relaxing vibe and the bartenders kept things fun and upbeat. They do have Happy Hour! SERVICE: for the large restaurant, they had a bar tender that was also providing table service. What the heck? They have a very large bar yet only one bar tender. What the heck again? Despite that, Kristen was awesome and provided the best service she could given the situation. When you arrive there may or may not be a hostess. Your manager was rude. Your staff member Kayla was also a terrible liar. This is the second time we have ordered via your online site at 5:30pm it stated the food would be ready at 6:22pm. We called because of the disaster that occurred the last time. I spoke with Kayla at 6:32pm and it was obvious our order was not even acknowledged. She then she'd get right back with us. I waited 15 minutes before I called back and when I called back at 6:51pm she said our order was being made and it could take 30+ more minutes. We waited and arrived at 7:28pm. The manager on duty asked if I was there for pick up. I said yes. I gave him my name and he said, " what did you order". I told him we ordered four burgers. His response was I know that order. Then I proceeded to tell him we've waited nearing two hours for our food. His ridiculously obnoxious response was, " well, everyone's been waiting two hours for their food". Let me preface this with when I arrived majority of the customers were drinking at the bar. Your dining area had many open tables and let's not go with the "it's due to COVID" response. When a customer orders food it should 1) be on time 2) hot when picked up 3) complete and presentable All three criteria's were not met. 1) I WAITED TWO HOURS FOR FOOD 2) OUR FOOD WAS LUKE WARM AT BEST 3) OUR FOOD WAS INCOMPLETE (missing sides), inadequate portions (four small pieces of lettuce and an over abundance of fried noodle), burgers and chicken were flash cooked (cooked fast) and EVERYTHING TASTED HORRIBLY. It's Mother's Day and we spent roughly $100 to feed my family (6) at a proper dinner time and what we experienced with service, management and food was disgusting and down right lazy! The food we ended up getting was absolutely great. The problems - to say that the service was extremely slow does a disservice to restaurants with slow service. Other tables received and ate both their appetizers and entrees by the time we received our appetizers. They ran out of several items (at least 4 I can think of), including one appetizer and a staple entree for vegetarians, but apparently didn't figure that out when the orders were submitted, but much later, causing long delays. More than 2 hours for 2 courses, much of which went home in boxes, because how long can you wait, even when the food is spectacular? read more

The food was just okay. I had spinach dip as an appetizer. It had a bit of a strange taste, not horrible but wouldn't order again. I also had an Impossible burger and fries, nothing to rave about either. The host that seated us had zero personality. Our waitress was terrible, it appeared she doesn't have the ability to focus or multitask. We only had a party of 5, but she would only take 1 or 2 orders at a time then walk off. There was a delay in receiving our drink orders, which I truly believe is because she did not put the order in! She kept saying she has no control over the bar, which by the way was NOT busy. Not once did we see her walk over to check the status of the drinks, which most competent servers would have done. She also brought one of the wrong drinks then got snippy when advised as if it was an inconvenience to her. The waitress brought our checks and only had two pens, but then actually came back and said she needed one back. It appeared she gave it to another table. This is before everyone could even sign. I don't know if she was having a bad night or maybe she was new. Regardless, she sucked and it made us wish we had gone with one of the other suggested restaurants on our first time in Columbus! *I can't figure our how to respond to the comment from the restaurant. I visited the location on Front Street that's connected to the Marriott hotel. I'm not familiar with the area so I'm not sure what area that's considered.
