Sad. A mile from our hotel and a nice looking website. Apparently the corporate vegan menu doesn't extend all the way to Columbus. I was able to order a pizza with nondairy cheese, green peppers and Italian sausage. The green peppers were raw and the crust was only partially cooked and doughy. Not much luck with the beer list I was handed either. My third choice was available but not much to my liking. The server should have pointed me to the updated tap list on the screen to my left. Instead I felt rushed and ordered something I wasn't sure about. Second time here as we pass through Columbus yearly. Likely to be the last. read more

My husband and I loved the mellow mushroom in Birmingham so we decided to go to this one and it was really night and day differences. We shared a pizza and one of the slices my husband ate, he almost broke his tooth on what we couldn't make out other than a rock? Like a small rock? The pizza didn't have the same quality or taste and the place was much more outdated which wasn't a big deal, just something I noticed. We are both vegan so we got a vegan pizza and she offered to give us marinara and there were little bits of cheddar cheese in it? Free fake nails in your food at Mellow Mushroom!! I am not one to post things like this but I was dining with a friend tonight and as she was packing up her leftover pizza, she noticed a purple press-on nail underneath one of the slices (circled in red). We politely asked to speak with a manager. Manager Katie rudely came near the table - not at the table - to say that no one in "her kitchen" has fake nails. She insinuated that we made this disgusting ordeal up instead of making the situation right, which caught the attention of a nearby table. This evening I tried Mellow Mushroom for dinner. I got their house special pizza with the added customization of thin crust and crispy crust. House Special Pizza: 3/5 Based on my limit, yet broad, experience of travels, it is always hard to find a good pizza wherever you go. This place only reinforced my deduction. The pizza was okay. Not great and not bad. First off, I could tell the pizza wasn't fresh out the oven. Even though I waited for my pizza for 30mins, it came out slightly hotter than lukewarm. Not sure how that happened be it that they told me my pizza was still being made when I got there. However, be it that I ordered takeout, I'll give them the benefit of the out in excusing why the pizza wasn't piping hot when I got it. Moving on, the cheese stretch was mediocre. The pizza had no undercarriage. The thin crust was the thickness of a normal crust. Either their normal crust is absurdly thick or they just gave me the wrong crust. The crust also had no crunch to it even though I asked for it crispy. Flavor was good but overall experience was lacking. Overall grade: 3/5 Nothing special about this place so I don't really have anything else to say. If you're having a pizza craving, this place will do. If you're looking for a good slice of pizza, I'd look for other places before coming here. read more

Today was my son's birthday, so my wife and I decided to take him to mellow mushroom for some pizza. We entered the restaurant and was seated immediately. This establishment smelled like a dirty bathroom as if someone had just mopped the floor with dirty mop water. The waitress was very nice, as she took our order. We waited 30 minutes for our food, but it wasn't the wait that bothered me it was the smell. My wife had to wait in the car because of it, and I started to get nauseous. Finally, our food arrived and, for the most part, looked delicious. My son devoured it, but I was having trouble eating because of the smell of the restaurant. In the end, I decided to pack up the food to go because I could not take the awful smell anymore. P.S. please fix this ASAP! read more

Save some time & go somewhere else. It was our 1st time coming to this place. We wanted to try it ourselves & it was terrible. To begin with, we walked in with only 1 family in 1 table, it was empty. As soon as we went in they sat us down and took our order. We saw a table of 15 arrived 20 min later & we were just waiting on our food. Tell me why it took 45 minutes (after the party of 15 to get their food for US THAT WE WERE THERE WAY BEFORE) get out food? The great white is my favorite, but we have also tried the holy shiitake, buffalo chicken, and a few others. I'm giving it four out of five stars just for consistency. Finally decided to give this place a try and was not disappointed. Ordered a take out due to COVID-19 restrictions. Everything was hot and ready by the time we got there to pick it up. The pretzel bites are more like bread bites rather than "pretzel" (if that makes sense), but they're delicious either way. The beer cheese was a little too stout for me though. We had two orders of pretzel bites, a meat calzone (can't think of the official name), a large pepperoni and olive pizza and a large half and half with holy shiitake and pacific rim. Although everything was delicious, my absolute favorite was the pacific rim. Would definitely go back just for another pacific rim pie. We have been to a couple mello mushrooms and they always have good food. I did try the mushroom soup for the first time and it really was delicious. The pizza was good too but there was too much crust with not enough cheese this time on the buffalo chicken. It still tasted great just needed some more sauce.
