The food was as the menu indicated. My wife ordered a Chicken Chipotle Spud, the potato was below serving temperature. I ordered a 1/2 sandwich (French Dip as a wrap) and 1/2 salad. My meal was served at correct temperature. My food was adequate. There appeared to be a less than adequate staffing, (1 order taker for a peak business time, Sunday lunch). Delivery of food timing was less than expected. Our delivery was 20 min, the rest of our party was 32 min. (Inadequate kitchen staffing?). There were tables that were not bussed at an appropriate timing, reducing the available tables. The ambiance was less than expected. The flooring was not cleaned adequately. We sat at a high top table just to the right of the front door. The temperature outside was 50 deg F. The closer on the door was malfunctioning. For that reason the door did not close as guests entered. This caused the temperature in the restaurant to be approximately 53 deg F near the door. We wound up moving to a different table, meaning that our party of 6 could not sit at the same table. I reported the door closer malfunction to the manager. She stated that a work order had been entered, but offered no other resolution to the issue. It is my opinion that the issue with the door closer will not be resolved any time soon. All told, in the past we have visited this same location and been pleased with the food and service. Unfortunately this location needs a change of management and hiring a different staff in order to meet the high standard that I know McAlister's has for its locations. read more

When i got my order... the food was horrible ... The tea for starters.... The famous mcalisters tea ??? No the quality was not there .... It was disgusting , the mc and cheese tasted like if it was old ... thank god the broccoli and cheese soup was good or else i would of have had turned into a karen .... McAlister's is normally a favorite of mine. Today, however, I had a disappointing experience. I went in and the line was long so I decided to put in a to go order online. I completed my order at 1:21 pm and I was told that my order would be ready at 1:41 pm. At 1:41 pm and asked for an update and the guy up front told me that my order was on the screen and would be ready in a minute. My girlfriend and I waited an additional 15 minutes in the lobby as we watched the people in the back making in the food live their best lives preparing the food slowly. One of the girls (partially dyed hair) had on gloves and then answered her phone with those same gloves and proceeded to hang up the phone and continue to prepare food with those same gloves. A couple of people who were waiting on their food for a long time just like us asked for an update on their food and whenever the front counter staff asked that same girl where the food was, she seemed to lack concern for the status of their order and continued to move at a snail's pace. The rest of the staff was pretty nice but the girl in the back displayed a mediocre work ethic. She was beyond the weakest link of the entire crew. I believe they were short staffed today but put the final nail in the coffin of a bad experience. The ambiance was normal. I ordered a bowl of Chilli and it tasted like canned Hormel. I don't know who can eat an entire bowl of that. My gf ordered the Chicken and Dumplings and it was thick and overcooked and barely had any chicken. It looked like cat food. I didn't even want a bite. Lol. And the pickle that came with the King Club had a nasty flavor. Tasted like it had been marinating in a mason jar with vinegar and an old church shoe. read more

This is really a 2.5 star review. I came here for the giant spud on Monday and of course they had just run out of them. I did stay because I was not sure where else I wanted to go for dinner. The workers were really nice but they did not have any suggestions for me to replace the giant spud. I enjoyed the cup of southwest chili but the nachoes were on the weak side. The tea was amazing and they did not have a problem giving me a refill right before I left. I will try Macalister's again but I will not stay if there are not giant spuds. The real reason for this is because I'm gluten free and the vast majority of the menu is gluten filled. To me the giant spud is the best part of the menu. read more

This is a fantastic restaurant with a calm atmosphere! The food is wonderful! Come visit Issue is every time my wife an I come in (3-4 times a week) the tables are not bussed and whipped off. I love McAlister's Deli however this location has been on of the worst run food chains I have been to in a while. There were 6 people working in the front (register and running food) and 5 people working in the back kitchen so they we well staffed. We had only 2 people in front of us in line and it still took 15 minutes before we got to the register to order. Once our food was ordered it took 23 minutes to receive it. We got 2 half sandwich/soup combos .... So literally nothing was being cooked. When we received the food both of our soups were cold so I had to asked for them to be microwaved. Every table after us that received soup also got up to request it to be heated because they were all cold. Unfortunately due to service I will not be returning which is a shame because I do like McAlisters. read more

I always kind of forget this place exists but when I do come here, I really enjoy it. The food is reasonably priced with good portion sizes. I really like the harvest chicken salad sandwich and the veggie spud. The mac n cheese is pretty good too. My only complaint is that this last time I went, my pita bread was very tough and difficult and to bite and my mom's croissant was over-toasted and crumbled apart. I hope this is the one on Veteran's Parkway. I went with my mother and my daughter. It was our first (but won't be our last!) visit. We were treated so amazingly by Jovell (I think his last name is Green) particularly and also by Mario. The other folks (Dom, Cole and Olivia) were also very courteous. Our food was delicious and the prices were great. I was really impressed with the customer service most of all. I had ordered a salad that didn't come out looking like the picture. I was reluctant to send it back but I just didn't care for it. Mario assured me that if I let him remake it, it would be "awesome"! I didn't really want to try again with it though and then Jovell came out and apologized and said that they would make it right. And they most certainly did! My next selection was superb both in appearance and taste. They were so respectful to us and didn't make us feel uncomfortable even though I had sent the original order back. Jovell even treated us to a piece of chocolate pie! I will be back over and over and will tell everyone I know to give this great little eatery their business! Just now leaving this place. I have never been so disgusted in my life by the way people act. The employees were in the kitchen about to fight and then one girl cane up front cussing and yelling about how she don't play like that. I was there alone but there was a guy next to me that was there with his entire family which included little kids. The food was really good, but the service was pretty bad. There were only three costumers in the store including me and my boyfriend. The customer before us said he had been waiting for 30 mins and the staff said she thought he was waiting for a dine in meal. His food was just sitting right there in bags. And my meal sat up on the window for at least 5 minutes. I assumed it was either someone else's or it wasn't done yet, but once we kept staring over there and making comments she finally grabbed it and brought it over. I simply went in to pay for a pickup order done over the phone,after paying $27.92 for my order I noticed my Rotel cheese was missing from my ultimate nacho order while still standing at the counter and asked for my missing cheese. The cashier asked one of the managers Jeff to pass the missing cheese , he became irate believing I was lying about a damn cup of Rotel dip and became combative stating it was impossible anything was missing from my order which was clearly visible in a see through bag on the counter, the store manager before checking the order told the cashier to charge me for cheese I already paid for..I ask for a complete refund, AFTER they realized my Cheese WAS in FACT missing after arguing with me for 10 minutes in front of a lobby of customers I received no apology only nasty attitude....these two unprofessional immature disgusting individuals DON'T need to be on ANY leadership role representing Mcccallister serving customers in any capacity...DO BETTER read more

My husband and i shared a Rubin, with potato salad and mac -n- cheese sides. Food was delicious as always, with generous meat in the sandwich. What was outstanding was the service; knowing we were going to share the sandwich, we were served with an extra plate and 2 sets of silverware! And this was after we asked for water, and he served us in the largest cups he had. This is service we do not typically experience. We get this to go pretty often because the giant spuds are so good and worth the price. I love that they offer gallons of their tea and lemonade. I've never had a problem with the food; it's always great. My only issue is their curbside process is a little annoying. You pull up at the allotted time, and wait for a very long time. We've had to go in a few times because nobody ever came out to bring us our food. I hope they get that situation fixed soon, but other than that, I highly recommend them for deli food! read more

I've been to this restaurant several times. The food is always good. However the service is always slow. Today we waited 40 minutes for our food. When I went to the counter to ask if everything was ok, the woman told me "there's a bit of a wait but I'll put a rush on it." After 30 minutes they'd put a rush on it. Prior to this visit, I ordered ahead for curbside pick up. When I arrived I called 4 times but there was no answer. When I walked in, there was a few tables with customers eating. But the staff were standing behind the counter. It's such a disappointment because the food is always yummy. I wish the service lived up to the food. read more

This was my last visit to McAlister's. The employees were nice today - that has not always been the case. The restaurant was dirty- the outside area had paper all over the floor and spider webs. The food was awful- I had a chicken dish and the chicken was mealy. The last three visits have been bad - it has been probably a year since I ate there. I decided to give it one more chance. The bathroom was also dirty- the trash can was full. How is that possible since they have only been open for one hour when I was there. It is obvious that the closing crew didn't do their job. If the outside of the restaurant was dirty what does the kitchen look like. This makes me sad because we love your tea but I spent 20.00 plus dollars on a meal that was inedible and a dirty restaurant. Good bye McAlister's. read more

I am in Columbus for work, and I stopped by McAlisters because I had been to this chain before and enjoyed it. This location was in disarray. The line to order was back to the door. Every empty table inside and outside was filled with plates and trash. My food took at least 20 minutes. This location needs some better management. read more

All in all our experience here was sub-par. I got a French dip and chips while my boyfriend got the King Club with mac and cheese. Aside from the chips, everything tasted frozen. The au jus clearly is not fresh, the roast beef had a very strange after taste that could be best described as freezer burn. As for the King club, the tomatoes were fresh but the rest of the sandwich was very bland and poorly put together. With KFC being so close we began to speculate that McAlister's may be in business of buying off their extra mac and cheese. With the pleasurable after taste of freezer burn to follow it as well. The customer service was not the best as it seemed the young man who took our order acted very impatient while we decided on what to order. Not to mention we paid $25 for two sandwiches, chips and some awful mac and cheese. In conclusion, I don't think we will be back. read more
