Venditoris is the kind of place that's getting harder to find--a real local Italian joint that still has that old school restaurant feel chains and modern spots just can't replicate. I've been dining here for years, worked my way through a good chunk of the menu, and they knock it all out of the park. The food is the real deal: old school Italian and American Italian classics like veal parmigiana and chicken Marsala--dishes you're not finding at Olive Garden or any chain. Portions are generous for the price and the flavor is fantastic across the board. Do not skip the salad, it's outstanding. The rolls are good and come coated in garlic, though I'll admit I wish they had a little more body and bite--I think that would pair even better with all that garlic. Minor gripe on an otherwise great meal. It gets packed on weekends, but hitting it during the week is still a great experience. We've eaten at Venditori's in the past and enjoyed our meals--the food was flavorful and fresh, and the atmosphere was pleasant. My wife and I decided to dine there again last night, hoping for the same experience. I asked for my salad dressing on the side, as some places tend to overdress their salads. Unfortunately, that request didn't make it to the kitchen, and my salad arrived swimming in dressing. I could only eat the portion off the top and probably should have sent it back. The wait for our entrées was over 45 minutes, even though the restaurant wasn't crowded. This would not have bothered me if the food had been worth the wait. However, when my Spaghetti Classica with sautéed mushrooms and meatballs arrived, it was extremely bland. I had to add a generous amount of salt and Parmesan just to get any flavor. It was honestly the most flavorless spaghetti I've ever had. My wife, who ordered the gluten-free spaghetti, had the same experience. To make matters worse, her noodles were not drained properly, leaving a noticeable amount of water pooled at the bottom of the dish. I've had better spaghetti in a school cafeteria. I love this place! I wish I had known about it before now. As soon as I entered, the warm Italian decor and layout of smaller and separate dining rooms made me feel comfortable and welcome. Venditori's reminded me of a restaurant in Atlanta called Scalini's. When I lived there, Scalini's was my favorite restaurant. Well, it turn's out, Venditori's is a spinoff of Scalini's. I learned Scalini's has since closed, but other spinoffs under the Provino name are open in Atlanta. The garlic rolls and endless salad are phenomenal. The rolls are fresh and soft and topped with chopped garlic and butter. The salad is amazing and I especially loved the beets and Italian dressing. It is easy to get full on just the rolls and salad. The menu is very big and the offer something for everyone. On this visit I had Shrimp Fra Diavolo. it was excellent. Service was outstanding. read more

Amazing salad, could get a 2nd or 3rd helping of it. Entrees we ordered their chicken francese and Cioppino. My chicken was delicious. Lemon butter sauce on point. The Cioppino flavor was good but didn't have that much seafood in it. For our first time here, I think we had a one off. The service was great and very fast, but the food was not good. The pasta was swimming in mystery liquid at the bottom and the lemon used in the pasta and as garnishes had gone bad. It ruined the whole dish and I couldn't even stomach the pasta. I'm reviewing the General Manager Flint. We had a big party and required another chair to accommodate all the guests. We requested another chair to be put at the end of the table; however, Flint informed us that he could not fulfill our request. According to him, it was not possible to have a chair at the end of the table. After suggesting that we could move the high chair and replace it with a regular chair, Flint informed us that they didn't have any extra chairs. As a result, one child had to sit on an adult's lap. I went to wash my hands and saw some extra tables and chairs stacked near the bathroom. Flint was rude and dishonest, which was disappointing, despite the excellent food and service. We borrowed a chair from a nearby table that wasn't occupied by any guests. Even though I wanted to rate them five stars, Flint's behavior was not up to par. read more

Stuffed mushrooms were delicious! My husband and I split the seafood cannoli and it was great. We went on a Monday night and the wine bottles were half price. The service was excellent. The food: We started with the sampler app, which had mozzarella sticks, zucchini, and artichoke (all fried) served with a heavenly marinara sauce. This was really good! They also served yeast rolls in a puddle of a liquid gold garlic butter sauce.. Yaass! Salad came to the table, also; it was average (keep in mind there was better competition for the salad). The salad comes w/4 large beet slices on top. I ordered a trio that came with veal, chicken and snapper in a lemon butter sauce. This was delicious! The sauce was true to it's name and the meats were moist and flavorful. I didn't realize it was breaded until I got it.. I wouldn't have ordered it, to be honest. I'm glad it worked out that way bc I would have missed out on an amazing dish. The side of spaghetti was good -- the sauce is the star of the show! The facility: There was definitely a bit of nostalgia for me. An ode to my grand/great-grandparent's house. The encyclopedia sets, paisley wallpaper, ancestor pictures.. interesting. This restaurant was right next to our hotel and we decided to try it since we were starving. I'm so glad we gave this place a try. We got there right after they opened so we got seated right away but we noticed it got busy so I would recommend making a reservation. The salad was very different as compared to other Italian restaurants but it was amazing! All the flavors went so well together it was definitely a highlight of the meal. The chicken Alfredo was good however the chicken itself was very bland and I didn't care for it much, the pasta and sauce were very good though. The chicken Marsala was very good and one of the best I've had. The staff was also very nice and friendly. The food also came out at timely manner. We came in from out of town and we were happy to find Venditori's! When you pull into the parking lot, we knew we had found a cool Italian restaurant. The facade was classic and inviting. Inside, pictures of famous people with Italian heritage adorned the walls and really added character to the tastefully designed waiting area; the desserts that were on display in the waiting area guaranteed that we were going to try at least one dessert. We got there pretty early and had a small wait so keep that in mind if you plan on eating there during main dinner hours. Our waiter was great. They brought out a wonderful salad with garlic knots that were delicious. We had fried ravioli for an appetizer, fettuccine Alfredo, chicken parmigiana, shrimp and scallops over fettuccini with panna cotta, chocolate cake and tiramisu to end the night. The food was great and the portions were huge. We loved it but could eat only about a third of the meals served. Overall, Venditori's was our best meal while in Auburn.
