Venditoris feels like a fancier version of Olive Garden; not the most average Italian food one can get but pretty close! Nothing i tried here was exceptionally bad or good, and it seems like a solid place to get your Italian fix with a huge food selection. I like that they have good seafood options, including some neat creole-themed dishes. Service was good if a bit slow, but they seemed pretty busy so that's understandable. It's August in Alabama. The place is nice but how can you enjoy yourself and your hot food when the AC is apparently fucking broke! I'm in a booth waiting for our food so we can get it to go. Because why wouldn't we want to take our food to the hotel and eat on the beds. The food is really good but the establishment, doesn't pass the stinky hot test. And why! We were in town for a game week and had high expectations. Most of the food we had was really good. However, this review is about the General Manager the evening we worked. The young waiter had messed up the order, no problems it happens. When they brought back the correct entrée (in less than 5 minutes) the chicken was rubbery and the crust of the chicken parm was not sticking at all to the breast. It was rushed. We simply sent the meal back and asked for a credit...non harm no foul. However, they charged us a split plate fee. $9 isn't going to break the bank nor it is going to hurt the restaurant. It's not just good business. When we talked to him about it, he said he could charge the waiter or we could pay it. The waiter was a college student...come on. Not professional and very disappointed in the way the situation was handled. If we had split a plate, fine, but when the food was bad, don't tack a charge on for "salad". I hope this is resolved both in the kitchen and with the person serving as the general manager....not a good way to run a business. While there we also heard of a second chicken parm being sent back. Might have been the preparation or if the chicken was frozen, not fresh. read more

We came in from out of town and we were happy to find Venditori's! When you pull into the parking lot, we knew we had found a cool Italian restaurant. The facade was classic and inviting. Inside, pictures of famous people with Italian heritage adorned the walls and really added character to the tastefully designed waiting area; the desserts that were on display in the waiting area guaranteed that we were going to try at least one dessert. We got there pretty early and had a small wait so keep that in mind if you plan on eating there during main dinner hours. Our waiter was great. They brought out a wonderful salad with garlic knots that were delicious. We had fried ravioli for an appetizer, fettuccine Alfredo, chicken parmigiana, shrimp and scallops over fettuccini with panna cotta, chocolate cake and tiramisu to end the night. The food was great and the portions were huge. We loved it but could eat only about a third of the meals served. Overall, Venditori's was our best meal while in Auburn. If you want a local Italian restaurant that is legit, Venditori's is it! read more

Great dinner and great service by Ashley! We had a party of 6 of a Friday night with a 30 minute wait. We were seated (right at 30 minutes) and Ashley was our server. She provided great recommendations for the table and provided prompt and polite service to us! She never let our drinks get empty, brought plenty of salad and rolls, and removed plates when we were finished! Appetizer of calamari was good but the main courses were delicious!! Venditoris is a stand alone building and we got there right after opening at 4:30 with no reservation. With it being graduation, and ball games, etc., The place got packed quick. However, we got seated in about 15 minutes. The vino was good and there was everything from semi-fine wines to table style from $7 and up per glass. I went with a Malbec from Coppola vineyards and then a nice chianti. The salad came family style already tossed with dressing and topped with a few beets. Not a big fan of beets, but they tasted ok. I had the Italian Sausage Parmigiana baked with meat sauce, mozzarella, and ricotta and added fried eggplant for a dollar. It came with a side of spaghetti & meat sauce. The sausage was the best and was laid end to end around the perimeter of the dish with the eggplant layered in the middle on top of the ricotta. It was all covered in meat sauce & mozzarella and browned. Sauce was definitely an all day or maybe a few hours gravy. It came with fresh baked garlic rolls in a bowl of garlic butter. They weren't quite as good as what I've had at Scalini's in the A.T.L., but were good nonetheless. Took a piece of chocolate cake and a chocolate cannolli home. The cannolli had sweetened ricotta inside with chocolate syrup and whipped cream. Liked the cannolli better than the cake, but both were good. Service was fantastic! I would usually rate this place higher. It is one of my go to restaurants for Italian but tonight it was off. The server was odd. She would not leave us alone. We all ordered quickly. Know the menu by heart! Drinks came quickly and didn't have to ask for refills. Always like that. Salad was great as always. We had to ask for rolls and then it went downhill from there. The cheese sticks weren't cooked all the way through. Barely warmed up. I ordered my favorite Romano Chicken. The mushroom sauce was not fresh. The chicken cutlet had a weird texture like it had been cooked then warmed back up but barely. Throughout the whole the server kept interrupting our discussions wanting to clear the table while we were eating. Almost to the point of pushing and rushing. I'll go back because normally it is better. Been going here for years. Hope the food is fresher next time. read more

The salad and bread is delicious, the ambiance is delightful. I just haven't found anything I actually enjoyed to eat here besides that. I have had the Alfredo and it taste like just a cream sauce and noodle no garlic or anything that breaks up the cream. This place is special to my family. We go here to celebrate big and small occasions. Oh it's yr birthday? Venditoris. Hey! You took a shower today? Venditoris. I like the vibes for the most part. Decorations are a little hokey but perhaps some see that as charm. The foods always real good. You might get nervous that you can't pronounce half of the items on the menu but rest assured that the staff absolutely does not care. I don't eat restaurant spaghetti but I have tried this and if for whatever reason I lost the ability to boil noodles this joint would be my go to. They got other stuff too! Can't remember the names of any of it other than like lasagna or chicken Parmesan (both those items are great btw) wine list is nothing to shake a stick at. They got these buttery lil rolls y're gonna stuff yr self off. They bring you a big ol delicious salad! The salads got stuff in it that I don't recognize but it all tastes good. It's natural stuff. Deserts really know how to hit that sweet spot. And AGAIN! The food. It's all great. I'll order some gibberish off of the menu and it's always great! Ordered to go. I ordered pasta with marinara and meatballs. The pasta was way past al dente, the pasta wasn't tossed with the sauce (which, for proper Italian food, it ALWAYS should be), there wasn't enough sauce for the amount of overcooked pasta, and it was incredibly watery. I mean, I seriously have never had Italian food that was this watery, or any food in general, excluding soup. I poured as much as I could off without accidentally dumping my pasta, and I have attached the picture. I poured off about a fourth of a cup of water, and there's even more left in the to go container that I couldn't pour off! How is that acceptable? This meal was comparable to cafeteria food. The salad: oil saturated mushy lettuce topped with canned beets... what are canned beats doing on an Italian salad? I ate here for the first time. The ambiance was great. I ordered a house wine - good. Salad - great. I was starting to envision myself coming here on a regular basis. And it was truly horrible. The sauce was so abundant that I could not even find the veggies, and the pasta was in there somewhere I'm sure. My heart sank. I was eating some Southern version of creamy rich splat and hey, let's just call it Italian. A note on the menu that said if you aren't happy don't tell others, tell them. I gathered up my courage and asked to see a manager on a busy Thursday night. I never do this. I talked calmly to the manager and told her what I was expecting vs. what I got. She was unfazed and said to order the sauce on the side next time. No attempt to make things right was offered. The manager did not suggest a do-over to replace my horrible dish. She did not discount the main dish or take money off the total. I paid the entire amount for a dish I clearly wasn't pleased with and voiced my opinion about. Most concerning, she did not ask me, "How can I make this right?" Wow. I will never come back to this restaurant. I am obviously not a valued customer. The hostess just stared at us when we walked in the door, and the manager behind her had to address us. Our waitress wasn't bad; she just wasn't very welcoming or helpful. I probably wouldn't have tipped her as much as I did if not for the policy of adding gratuity for parties of 8 or more. I definitely understand the difficulty of finding good wait staff for restaurants right now, but if I'm going to pay that much for a meal, I'd like the service to match the price. We chose this restaurant out of the blue. When we first entered it had a very nice atmosphere. It was very romantic. The waitress was new but friendly. We loved the lighting. When the salad arrived it was delicious. If this was a sign of things to come , everything should be heaven. My wife ordered the shrimp scampi as an appetizer. It was bland and tasteless. It could have used some more butter and garlic for flavor. I ordered the Pasta lover's dinner. The sauce was a little sweet and the pasta was a little over cooked. There was one meatball and a sausage on the plate, both were very bland. The waitress asked if we wanted any Parmesan cheese. We said that we did.
