We've been looking for a great lunch spot for a midway stop on our trips from lower Alabama to NC and back. Auburn was a great midway point and Niffer's was highly rated on Yelp. Great section of VERY reasonably priced lunch entrees. The atmosphere and the service was top notch. I think it was about 4 miles from I85, and well worth the extra 8 miles it added to the trip. Best burgers we've had in a while. I'm not a fan of thin, quick cooking smash burgers so we were pleased to see nice, thick, juicy patties! This fine restaurant will give us something to look forward to, every time we pass by Auburn, in route to Atlanta, or North Carolina. It's usually just the two of us, but this trip we took my in-laws, and everybody was very happy with their choices from the extensive lunch menu. Total bill was surprisingly inexpensive. read more

Came to Auburn with my daughter for a softball camp. Corn bites are ok...we couldn't tell if it was the corn bites or the honey mustard that was good. LOL. Service was GREAT! French dip was good. Started with some hot pepper cheese bites. They are great. I got the Big Cheese burger. Burgers are 1/2 lb. Nice. I was trying not to get all fried stuff so I tried the baked beans. Wife tried a turkey burger with the Bramblett. Everything was good. Service was very attentive. Fun atmosphere. read more

Niffer's Place Auburn-- is the place to be. I was in town visiting family and we decided to go over to check out the Auburn campus and grab a bite to eat. Niffer's was highly recommended. We were able to snag a spot on their screened in patio! What a lovely spot. It seems they have a plethora of seating with the option of hosting large groups! Beer selection was on point. The menu has something for everyone! Loved some of the southern dishes offered and all the burgers/wraps/sandwiches looked stellar. My buffalo chicken wrap with sweet potato fries hit the spot! (There's a sweet lunch menu served Monday-Friday) Our waitress was super attentive and knowledgeable. Food came out quick, correct and prepared well. Next time I'd aim to come during Happy Hour for $2 tallboys (4-6pm, M-F) or burger night for a $9 burger/side (Thursdays, 5pm-close). Niffer's is the place to be! read more

The food here is so tasty and worth the hype! I had the Mushroom & Swiss Burger with the Turkey Patty and add onions & peppers. So so tasty and I loved the flavor of the Turkey Patty. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because the server didn't come to the table for over 10 minutes at the beginning of our meal but I understand that things happen. read more

The burgers were well seasoned and each of them were delicious. We ordered the black and blue, the nifiraious, and the pimento cheese one. The fries were not hot and they give a small portion. The Cajun fries are dusted with blackening seasoning, tossed out of the frier would have been better. Canned beer will run you 5 to 6 dollars. The server was nice. read more

Rec'd the anticipated good natured ribbing and they didn't make me eat outside Lots of burger topping options, I chose one "not on the menu", but was in another Yelp review: "Philly cheese", and they easily obliged. I even asked for it to be medium well, and it was cooked perfectly: I believe it was hand patted, or at least looked like it...which is a huge plus in my book Pics of the fries on most reviews showed "steak cut", but I was told (and what I got) they don't have that cut and now it's a thick curly like fry. Still decent and usual as fries go. Beer isn't on tap, but there's a variety to choose from in cans. Servers seemed to be college aged and seemed to willingly help each other out, attentive, and the place was "semi" busy on a random Monday afternoon (post golf at RTj) Def glad for the recommendation and I concur to others. Ordered through Door Dash, so I can't comment on ambiance, but my order was neatly packed, beautifully presented, and accurate, so good customer service. Food was still hot when I got it. The bacon cheddar grilled chicken sandwich was delicious. No contest, best grilled chicken sandwich I've ever had. Cajun tots were also good. I got the Heaping Hoagie and it was amazing and got the slaw for my side dish and the waitress warned that it had apple and pineapple in it and it was delicious and almost got a 2nd helping of it cause it was that good. My wife got the burger and it tasted like a burger right off a charcoal grill and it was really good. Had ballgames on the TVs and everyone talking about football having a great time. The host even came to our table and cut up with us for a few minutes which makes the atmosphere even better. Waitress was nice and attentive and gave her honest opinion about the food we asked about. Stopped in after sight seeing Samford tower with my family and we were seated but sat there for 10 minutes in a booth and never once were asked for our drinks or even told we will be with you in a few. We sat and watched 3 other tables get sat after we did and they all got there drinks and orders taken. Not sure if it was our LA Dodgers jersey or the color of our skin as were are Hispanic. This is not the niffer's of old- service was incredibly slow, food was terrible, and prices have gone up. Our burger was greasy and overcooked and wings were cold. Tables were pretty dirty and staff seemed overwhelmed despite it not being too packed. read more

I would give five stars considering the food is great and our waitress was even better. But it was a little crowded which is acceptable and understandable considering it was lunch time. But what was not acceptable or understandable it was how me and my family ordered our food and two tables can that came in after us ordered the same thing but got their food way before us. Went two weeks ago on Burger Night. On Burger Night, all burgers are cooked medium well. I like my burgers really rare, so I looked for an alternative. I ordered a steak sandwich. I got one of the best steak sandwiches ever, and at a burger joint. Everyone else got a burger and thought it was very good. Service was excellent, even though they were packed. Only disappointment (minor) was that they were out of fried green onions. Maybe next time. read more

Niffers is a great signature spot in Auburn. Which means it can get packed at times. There are so many tables in there the restaurant can be hard to move through, especially with staff running around. They have great weekly specials and events so I would recommend checking this out on a week night when it's not as crowded. read more

Good food every time we go! For appetizers, the corn nuggets, hot pepper cheese bites and fried pickle spears are all fantastic! Our whole table got the hangover cure. The food was absolutely amazing! and the vibes are amazing! however my party of 5 sat on the patio where our server brought us one glass of our drinks (they were all sweet tea) and then we never got a refill. to the point we had to stop eating until we got another server to bring us a drink. our server was extremely rude and was standing approximately 10 feet from us the entire time we ate but wouldn't look up to check on us not once. she swept the same spot on the patio for the entire time we ate. i was really looking forward to eating here because my friend recommended it. it was very disappointing due to the service. read more

Niffer's is a casual restaurant, and a great place to grab a burger and beer. This location is smaller than the Opelika location, but is has much more character. I had dinner on a Thursday night, and it happened to be "Burger night". Most of their signature burgers are $8.50, and that includes a side! I got the Chipotle burger with side of Cajun fries.
