Hubby and I went there for dinner with friends and quickly realized Black people are not welcomed nor served. We sat at our table for 15 minutes without service, went to the hostess to inquire about our waiter and learned eye patch was the server. We were not acknowledged, outside of the Casaamigos lady, or even served water. We left to go to Live Oaks. Auburn University is a hard no for our girls and we will share this with our community! Maybe it's because I enjoy the company. maybe it's because I enjoy the service (and I'm a stickler for service). However, I've always ordered the avocado burger. I always enjoy the sweet potato fries (on the side). Tonight I got a margarita and it was sweet but yummy. I would recommend going here if you want a good burger, a wide selection, and of course good atmosphere. Okay let's start with the good... It's within walking distance of the auburn university campus. Now the rest... the place has a vibe of Texas Roadhouse but in a poorly imitated way. It's one of those places where you'd go if you can't get into one of your first 5 choices. I won't be too hard on them after all it is a college town. The service wasn't stellar and kind of expected with just past college age folks doing the wait service. It wasn't crowded but there were enough butts in the seats to make one think the food was pretty good. Unfortunately that was the furthest from the truth! The chips were straight out of a bag and the beer cheese was the worse thing ever! Now tell me why you would put cheese in a dish and pour beer in it? I was expecting cheese with a hint of beer flavor- Nooo, you dip a chip and all you got back was a beer soaked chip! Nasty just straight Nasty needless to say it didn't get eaten. Wife and I came here randomly for lunch. Merri was our server, she was wonderful. We started outside for the appetizer and drinks then moved inside for the pizza (rain was threatening). The sweet potato fries were fantastic. My Old Fashion was perfect. She tried a local brewed beer and she gave it a thumbs up. We split a small pizza and got the "All the Meat" pizza. Cool bar vibe but still family-friendly, and the menu is packed with amazing pub food: sandwiches, burgers, pizza/calzones, etc. My favorite is the orange and blue calzone and the nachos are an excellent appetizer as well. This restaurant is very "what you see is what you get". I'm sure it would be a great experience for game days, but otherwise it's nothing to run and tell home about. So with a name like Draft House, you would expect to not be out of beer. Every beer we ordered was out of stock. How on the 3rd week of football season and the biggest home game of the year are you out of every domestic draft. It was a long wait but we understood as it's football weekend. As alumni and former residents of Auburn, my friends and I came into town for a basketball game. The town changes so much nowadays, it is really hard to keep up. So we wanted to make sure we got into town early, check out everything and get something to eat. Rolling in from 280, we thought it would be nice to walk through downtown and see all of the new spots popping up. Ultimately, we decided to grab a drink downtown and eat a little closer to the arena as game time was getting closer. With 17/16 not open yet (I forget how my old mind might think it would be at 5 o clock), we decided to check out Auburn Draft House. I never saw it before. But they had a small patio and it was a really nice day. So that's where we decided to post up. The service was good and efficient. Their beer selection was not the best I've seen. But they did have a lot of good choices. For the purpose we needed it for, that part was served. Nothing out of the ordinary great. Where does one begin? We dropped in to the Draft House on a regular summer Wednesday night. Summer in this town means we can park in front of the building on the first pass (pay to park deck and lot available in back). The restaurant was full-ish with a blend of demographics (not all college students). We were promptly seated and offered drinks by our friendly server, Tony. As you'd expect, broad variety of beer available and wine, too. Surprise! Wednesday night is $5/bottle wine and Bingo starts at 8:30. The mood was festive (see $5 bottles of wine) and pub-noisy. We placed our orders ~ a beer cheese steak sandwich, Not Your Momma's (grilled) chicken sandwich, and chicken marsala. Pretty much standard pub fare (but no fish and chips. This isn't London.) We watched the Olympics on the multiple screens while we waited for our food. And waited. And watched. And waited. And watched (three different event finals and medals!) And waited. Finally our food came! (Did you get that it took a minute?) Thankfully, the food was hot and yummy. I'm not sure if this is a good thing, but we crossed the 8:30 pm mark. BINGO!!! I think there were some Bingo regulars there ~ some with team shirts (I kid you not.) One group of enthusiastic ladies swore they were only there for one Bingo round. We left in Round 2 and they were going strong (see $5 wine). Bingo caller was lots of fun. All in all a fun, filling, and tasty meal. If I lived here, this might be a good place to meet people. Everyone seemed kind and friendly. I'm not sure I would start with the Bingo team, though. My husband and I ate here for dinner on a Thursday night after arriving in town for the weekend. Overall, my experience was ok...not terrible...but just ok. If I'm back in town, this probably won't be my first choice for food, but I wouldn't be upset if I had to eat here again. FOOD/BEVERAGE: We both ordered the large greek salad with grilled chicken added. The salad was a good portion size, the chicken was seasoned well, and the dressing that they provide (not Greek dressing) was really good. I was just disappointed because there weren't any olives on the salad, which is my favorite part of a Greek salad :(. They were having a special on pitchers of beer that evening, so I opted for a glass of the house cabernet. I don't remember the brand of the wine, but it was delicious! Also, it appears that they do have a happy hour...but we arrived after it ended. CUSTOMER SERVICE: The service that we received from the hostess, server, and food runners was pretty good. No complaints there. LOCATION: It is located downtown and surrounded by several other bars and restaurants. Magnolia Avenue was pretty busy at the time and it looked like parking might hard to find, but we were lucky that someone was pulling out of a spot in front of the restaurant as we were coming down the street. FYI, there are parking meters, but parking at that time was free. The overall vibe inside the restaurant was fine. And he said he won't be paying for all of the other food that was messed up. And that's not even the worst of it all it keeps going, before we were going to walk out the GM took pics of all of us two of us are minors one of those are me. That's just weird to be taking pics of minors and adults when ur at least a 50 year old man. All they did was do a blanket of 30% discount on all of the food and take off the wrong food. Almost every person that went in there to eat got up and left bc they never got their food. The table next to us never even got their food orders put in the computer(40 mins after getting their drinks, that's when their server came up to tell them that). I've never seen a manager act like that, so unprofessional to let ur employees do that, if you're going to gossip about costumers at least do it in the back like humans with common sense. And the sad part about this all is that it's not the servers fault and their the ones having to get talked like that bc the other employees including the GM couldn't be professional enough to handle it. read more
