A very cool brewery in the small town of Opelika, Alabama. Honestly, as I pulled up to a client, I noticed this new establishment a d was intrigued that such a place would open in Opelika. The bartender, Kyle, only made the experience better and he was genuinely happy to offer recommendations and samples to pair you up with your perfect brew. I ended up going with a pumpkin ale, but I must say that the brown ale was incredible. The atmosphere is very cool, as well. It is large and done up to make you feel right at home either by yourself or with a large group. I must say that I enjoyed my visit here and I can say with a certainty that I will be back. read more

This is our favorite brewery in the area! We love the selection of beer and the food is delicious too! The interior ambience is nice and they have a good amount of seating and TVs. The outside area is nice and big, has party lights, and often has live music! I love coming here for sour beers as they are my favorite. We love getting flights so we can try everything! The buffalo chicken pizza is SO good- we would absolutely get that again. The boiled peanuts are always a good choice too!!! read more

Beer was very cold and very good. The bartender was awesome helping us make our beer choices and even mixed a few beers together to make my beer sweeter. However, other than to take our orders he never spoke to us. The atmosphere lacked a lot to be desired. It was very uninviting and cold feeling. The pretzel had no flavor and the cheese sauce taste like baby food. I liked the other pretzel sauce but my husband did not because he is not a big fan of horseradish and it had a lot of horseradish in it. read more

We came here to avoid the full bars/restaurants in Auburn for graduation. We were not disappointed. Come in and try a flight of 4 beers of your choosing. Very laid back with country music playing. Went in March '21. Decent beer. Recommend a flight as they have about a dozen varieties. They had a band playing on a Saturday night that made for a laid back atmosphere. People were spaced out well & we felt comfortable. read more

I will break this down as such: Layout/Atmosphere: love the way they built this, open floor plan, really cool how you can see the kettles and the outdoor area is amazing. Beer: Not a huge fan of their beers and ive tried them all. Not sure if they are still working out the kinks or possibly transitioning from small batch to big batches (IDK). We waited 45 minutes for our food and after multiple times asking for our food, they always said it was coming out, but never did. When it did only 2 came out. I ordered the french dip with sauce. It was cold and no sauce. The chips were from the bottom of the bag. When I ask for sauce I was brought a tiny cup of it - couldn't dip my sandwich in it- and it tasted like dishwater. My sandwich had mayo on it after asking for no mayo. I could not even eat it at all. The other 2 sandwiches took another 15 minutes to get and they were not good at all. We stopped in on Sunday during covid. We were so excited to see that they were open and that they had 2 new sours (which are our favorite) to boot. The ladies serving were so kind. We wished we hadn't had such a huge dinner because the pizza and the giant pretzel looked delicious! I recommend the Mango Berliner Weiss. So good! read more

Went there with a group of friends and owner was so terribly rude to us. She was clearly overwhelmed and stressed with how busy it was and she took it out on us. She was also openly reprimanding her employees in front of customers and was very unprofessional. The young girl at the register was very kind and apologized to us and helped us get what we needed. Our 3 appetizers also took over an hour to come out. Do not take it out on the customers when you don't know how to efficiently run your business. Won't be going back. read more

Really dissatisfied with our experience here. We are all for new additions to the Opelika/Auburn community, but the attitude of the owner was enough to make us not return. Had about a quarter of my drink left 5 minutes after closing when she started stacking our glasses up. It was pretty obvious we were all finishing up and about to leave. Very disappointed in the quality of the beer here at this brewery. I used to love the brown ale and the mango madness but both beers were very watered down and specifically the brown ale tasted like toilet water. Joined a group of friends at Resting Pulse Thur nite and knowing the beer is often iffy got a diet coke and ordered a Margarita Pizza. This is not pizza, it's just crust with a small slice of tomato on each slice, one had to look hard to see any cheese. Any frozen pizza from Wall Mart is tons better. I couldn't give it away, several other people in the group ordered the same pizza and just left it on the table. Will not be wasting any more money at Resting Pulse again read more

Stopped here on a whim on the way home from vacation and are extremely happy we did! Not only did they have an awesome selection of beer, but a great food menu as well. It was delicious and we enjoyed all of it. The owner (at least, who we are pretty sure was the owner) was so involved and passionate about his brewery; it was so refreshing. The service here was wonderful, and we really enjoyed the space! However, the beer has a long way to go before it is even somewhat passable as craft beer. My wife and I have been to Resting Pulse 3 times since they opened a few years ago, and the beer has remained unimpressive and honestly just really bad. We recently visited, and I ordered the Breathing' Hazy IPA and my wife ordered the West Coast Vibes IPA. I could tell as soon as the (very kind) bartender poured the beers that something was wrong because there was not a head on either one (indicating that their C02 levels are off) and my hazy IPA looked very dark and tasted like it had become oxidized. My wife's West Coast Vibes IPA did not taste bitter at all, which is what west coast IPA's are supposed to taste like. Also, both of our beers just generally seemed flat and watery and tasted awful. We love craft beer and we love Opelika, but Resting Pulse has A LONG way to go if they want to keep any patrons who actually know anything about craft beer. read more

This place has gotten bad reviews on an app called Untapped from people who don't like their beer. I don't mean to discount other people's experiences, but it seems to me that the people who complain about the beer at Resting Pulse are not used to drinking very good quality beer. I have tried 5 different brews- including IPAs, the stout, a cherry wheat, and the kolsch- all of which are excellent. In fact, the coffee stout (made with Mama Mochas espresso) is one of the best beers I have ever tried. I live in North Carolina- a state with its fair share of excellent craft breweries- and Resting Pulse can compete with any of them. In regards to the complaints on Yelp about the service, I did not have the same experience. The bartenders were prompt, friendly, and more than happy to let me sample beers before purchasing them. I love this place. Don't just trust reviews (mine included). Give this place a chance to prove itself to you. read more
