They did pour a proper pint.

It had been a great place for lunch for us, but dinner was a bust. Our appetizer was highly recommended by our server, but never arrived. A big deal was made that we would not be charged for it. A couple of us went with the grouper over jambalaya special. The fish was fantastic with a light, fried crust. Everything else was stone cold. The restaurant was a bit chaotic and our server was not to be seen so I finished most of the fish before being asked if I was enjoying my meal. We did not eat the cold side.

Visited on a Wednesday during Open Mic Night upstairs. Great vibes, comfortable seating. Service was fast and friendly. Ordered the pork schnitzel w champ potatoes and a side salad. House ranch and potatoes were excellent but the schnitzel was suuuuuper heavy on the peppercorn which was really disappointing because it would have been perfect with just the mushroom sauce.

Me and wife came here for dinner while in downtown area. It was day before st Patrick's day and was pretty busy. Despite that we were seated promptly and the staff remained extremely friendly and helpful. I love shepherds pie so obviously that's my go to at Irish pubs but this time I opted for the vodka chicken they had. The wife went with the fish and chips I must say the vodka chicken was one of the best chicken dishes I've had. It was covered in a tomato vodka sauce and mozzarella cheese. Like a chicken parm. But man was it cooked and seasoned to perfection. I got the beer battered fries and asparagus as sides. The asparagus was again cooked and seasoned to perfection. The fries were also solid. The wife said her fish and chips were amazing as well. She said the fish was buttery and the batter was the best she's had on a fish and chips. She said no fishy taste at all. I decided to try it even though I do not like fish. I ended up finishing what she couldn't (it was a very big piece) which again shows how good it was since I despise fish. Not sure why it's not higher rated to be honest. I'd have to say the best Irish pub I've been to. Highly recommend.

They were busy but had a few empty tables. Bar was packed. They didn't want to sit me at a table because I was eating alone and I didn't want to eat at the packed bar. I asked if they serve the outside 2 person tables along 9th St. She said yes so I told her I would sit outside. Someone took me to a table and left me with a menu. I sat there maybe 10 minutes, thinking 5 more and I'm leaving. Just them a waitress came up and said, I noticed you sitting here so I checked to see if your table has anyone assigned and there isn't so I'm going to serve you if that's ok. She ended up being a great server but the hostess putting me out there without assigning someone to my table wasn't a good first experience. I got the Reuben sandwich and it was ok. Needed more sauerkraut.

The service was great! Thank you, Jen! Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Spinach dip is really good. Do not miss the bread pudding! We split half of the pudding and had half put in a to go box so the portion was large! The vodka chicken is good. The restaurant is in an old building with exposed brick walls. Love the atmosphere!

I have given this place too many chances over the years-not going here to eat again. The food is subpar at best- brown spots on fresh greens and steamed veggies, dry grits, and tough pork. And our last server was a doozy- it was as if she had never eaten in a restaurant. The choicest thing she asked was how I wanted my fish cooked? I ordered fish and chips!! I'm done.

So disappointed. First the positive--our server was nice. But he wasn't efficient in the ways that count. We were seated by the same server since the hostess wasn't at the door when we arrived. This was our first time so we didn't know anything IBP had to offer. We even let our server know. He said to order according to our liking and we'd be happy. Wrong! We both got the shepherd's pie. It was served in foil to-go pans. It was mostly all mashed potatoes, a little bit of ground beef, a sprinkling of peas and carrots and no gravy! I keep moving my potatoes around to find the Guinness gravy mentioned on the menu and there was none. We waited for our server to come ask how our food was. When he did he was walking past our table on his way to another. We didn't answer him and he never came Back to ask why. At the end when he asked if we wanted to go boxes (even though it was served in to-go boxes) we told him there wasn't a lick of gravy in our pie. He responded, "really?" Ummm, yes, really! He came back saying he slapped the kitchen on the hand! Not helpful! He did take one pie off our ticket, but he had already ruined our nice evening out. As we left we noticed a completely different side of the pub--with cool lighting, cushioned booths and hopefully a different quality Of service. We are from out of town and were so very disappointed this was our last dinner in Opelika. If we lived here we wouldn't come back.

We ate at the Auburn location of IBP for lunch today. They seated us in the bar area (only 2 other tables were occupied). From other reviews and our experience, don't sit in the bar section if you want best service. One of the 3 of us received a wrong order (server wrote the order wrong despite guest's clear, simple instructions to remove 1 item from a sandwich). Server never checked on us, but shift manager did and they got it fixed. Pictured here is the pork schnitzel I ordered which was surprisingly thick (like the cutlet was never pounded) and fried to an almost burnt stage. It was tasteless; the only thing that gave it flavor were the sauce and 1/4 cup of sauerkraut that came with it. Truly a poor schnitzel. Partner's Vodka Chicken was the best item - truly fresh and flavorful. IBP has great ambiance and I hear their supper experience is different. Approach lunch with caution.

Very cool pub restaurant in historic downtown Opelika. Great atmosphere, exceptional staff and superb food. The mussel plate appetizer and fish & chips are one of the best I've had! I definitely recommend you stop by when you're visiting historic downtown and sampling the plentiful pubs in downtown.

I ordered the pub smash burger and my friend got the Irish grilled cheese. My burger was good. The Irish grilled cheese was awesome. I would probably order that next time but there's other things on the menu I want to try too! We both liked their fries. For the drinks, we ordered the blueberry & pineapple don sour and the blackberry margarita. Both of them were really good. Our server was awesome. It seemed like a bit of a one woman show for a while there lol - she was greeting, hostessing, serving, and bartending. I can't remember her name exactly but she had blonde hair that was a little bit shy of shoulder length and she was very friendly. Whoever that was, give her a raise haha. She was quick and we liked her vibes. The food took a little bit of time but it was also a dead part of the afternoon and everything came out piping hot so definitely fresh/cooked to order. I'm willing to wait for that :) this is a place you come to enjoy, not eat fast and leave. The prices were reasonable, the menu was expansive, and the parking was plentiful since it's downtown and there are a good bit of spots around. The location is convenient and you can walk around afterward. The inside was beautiful; I loved the ambiance of it. Oh and last but not least - bathroom was nice and clean!! We honestly loved this place and I am certain I will be back.

It is definitely on my Alabama "must-visit" list. I am from out of town, but I came looking for a workspace and wanted to grab lunch while I was there. I came around 1 PM and there was a 30 minute wait for 2 for lunch, but have no fear. We just went upstairs to the martini bar and were able to wait and work. We were seated in the garden for lunch, which are mostly cute high tops. Before we even began our meal, a fat adorable white rabbit crossed our path. Then an equally beautiful black rabbit crossed our path. I had no idea there was wildlife just prancing around and I was giddier than a little kid. (There are also ducks and geese who run around!). Now to the food: Had to get the smash burger because it was award winning and boy it did not disappoint! The depth of flavor and the juiciness of the patties were impeccable. I opted for guda cheese instead of cheddar, and I added grilled onions, and this was an excellent choice. The fries are super crispy and the comeback sauce is perfect for dipping . Don't judge us, but we also shared some desserts. The standout was the white chocolate cheesecake, which was sweet but not super indulgent. I would definitely skip the crepe next time. The description made it sound delicious. But overall, it was lacking in a flavor. It was by far the most disappointing dish of the day. Even though it takes a while for food to come out service is impeccable, and the servers are just so lovely, so be patient. I will definitely make the Botanic my go-to establishment when I'm in town!

Dining is an experience and my hobby my husband says. We indulge most nights in many great restaurants all around us or when we frequently travel. I want to start by saying my friend chose this space well! Though it was about a 40 minute drive from their house it was worth it. The venue, grounds, market, dining areas, etc. are all truly a delight. I cannot believe a place like this exists in this area. We started with adult beverages and the amazing complimentary bread with an assortment of butter options. For appetizers, we ordered the pimento cheese and corn ribs (forgot to photograph). Both were delicious! For entrees, the ladies had the pasta dish with my friend adding the shrimp. I am a vegetarian so I did it without any protein. It was very good. The men had the filets with the sides and found them to be cooked properly. The pros were as follows: Beautiful venue/spaces Delicious food The market had some nice shopping gifts to pick up for souvenirs and pastries for breakfast the next morning The cons: We were supposed to be at an inside table and they said that was not the case once we arrived and it was way too hot outside and the flies were terrible. I felt as if they should have accommodated us as we still waited 30 minutes to be seated despite her making reservations weeks ago. That really put a damper on the experience. Their corkage fee to bring your own wine is $40 per bottle. I take my own wine to every restaurant I go to and have never paid $40 even at much higher end places. The waitress was nice but loud and forgetful. We asked for things multiple times and never did get some of the requested things. They do offer lunch and dinner and the menus are a bit different. They focus on fresh produce from local farmers and some they grow there. If you are within a 30 minute drive, I would suggest going as there is not much in that area that compares according to our friends. There are multiple dining spaces so make sure you choose where you want to dine and confirm that. There are multiple bar options as well.

Let me start by saying the building is beautiful and the atmosphere feels like a nice restaurant. Also, the cocktail menu was definitely curated by someone who knows what they are doing. Our food came out lukewarm at best and honestly seemed like not a lot of thought went into them. I know that this restaurant is supposed to be upscale, but I don't think I should pay 55$ per persons meal and still leave hungry. Also, the staff needs training. The whole time it felt like they were concerned with fast turn over and nothing else. Part of upscale dining is that the price of food and quality of service is more important than turn over time. Generally speaking I will not be back to eat here again.
