This is an alright sports bar joint that distinguishes itself in the area by serving food later than many of the surrounding businesses. They have daily drink and food specials to add to the fun. I ordered a cheeseburger and it was overall a pretty decent burger although I wasn't fond of the fact they seemed to only have packets of mustard and not an actual container of mustard for me to use (I hate those tiny packets while ketchup gets much larger packets). This place is in a prime location close to many other spots so you can definitely add this to your Auburn pub crawl adventure if you want. This place is centrally located on College Street near Toomer's Corner. That will immediately make it a go-to place to grab "sports bar" food. In fact, every time I am in Auburn, this is where I take folks for wings. The three star description of "A-Ok" is very accurate. The food here will quench your craving for whatever unhealthy food is on your mind. For me, it's always wings and fries. I can't complain about the food, but I also can't rave about it. I can tell you that the servers have always been good. The first time I was there, there was a wait for some inexplicable reason. Service could be a bit better and the food is just average, but this is a great place to come play trivia. They have a lot of TVs here and one big screen at the main seating area so its also great place to come watch sports and have a beer or two. They have daily specials from tacos to burger and drink specials and have trivia two nights a week at least. I think general trivia is Tuesday at 8pm and Thursday at 7:30pm and they have adult trivia Thursdays at 9:30pm. They are serious about it being adult too, the topics and comments can be VERY ... grown up.. so I would advise against bringing the young ones. read more

We were visiting from out of town for the Auburn game to avoid high ticket costs we opted to watch the game at a bar close to campus. I picked halftime because being only a block away from campus it was a great location and they had a lot of appetizers. Liz was our server and she was absolutely amazing. It was such a high energy environment we had so much fun! We ordered the mac & cheese bites, homemade chips and the wings all were very yummy but the wings were the best we've ever had! Drinks wise I had a mocktail of the toomer's spritzer and it was very good not sure how it'd taste with the gin but if your into that I'd definitely recommend trying it. Halftime has improved DRASTICALLY in the last couple of months. In case you were unaware, Halftime is under new management and was purchased by the owner/chef of Zazu. The Quality of the food is much better, and they have a new menu that probably does not have as much frozen food on the menu. Same burger blend as Zazu, and probably the best downtown besides The Hound. Lots of TV's and in a good location downtown, I really hope the food stays consistent. My only complaint was the service last time, seemed like they were disinterested in their jobs and not exactly friendly. Great place to watch a game, definitely preferred over Locos. read more

With that being said we sat around 8:15 but didn't get food until close to 10pm. Also, there seemed to be either owners or managers of some sort at the front door welcoming people in and they were a little odd and borderline creepy. The waitress who was in charge of greeting people and putting them on the waiting list for a table was incredibly rude. We walked in and she didn't even look at us. I don't know why I continue to give this place a chance. I guess because it has the best TV setup in the area? It's certainly not the service, or should I say, lack of service. They have an admirable beer list and a pretty extensive menu, it's just a shame you can't get someone to take your order or follow up with you in a timely manner. My most recent experience was waiting for 9 minutes for a server to take our order, even as other servers wandered around avoiding eye contact. When our server did arrive, she asked for drink orders, and I attempted to order food since we were ready. She ignored the food request. We actually began counting, and the number of times the kitchen staff walked out to check the scores outnumbered the times the servers were present in the dining area. My girlfriend and I went here for a good dinner since we were both rather hungry. We sat down and got our menus in a timely manner, but that was essentially the end of the timeliness we experienced. Our server explained how some items on the menu have been changed: they added Gouda macaroni bites and a firecracker shrimp po' boy, got rid of the catfish po' boy. We decided to get the Gouda macaroni bites while still deciding on what to eat for the main course. Our appetizer was brought out before our server came back to ask what our entrees would be. I order the Blitz burger, she ordered 10 wings (all flats) and fries. When our food came out (and I drinks were FINALLY refilled), she was served 6 drums and 4 flats. The server told us that the kitchen manager said that they couldn't do all flats because they got a large shipment of drums. It would've been nice to know that prior to them being served. My burger had a smorgasbord of fresh jalapeños when the menu clearly stated they were fried. When I brought this to the server's attention she said that they don't fry them anymore, they're all fresh. Again, would have been nice to know prior to being served. All in all, I will not patronize this establishment again. Poor service, food that doesn't reflect the price, and two sweet tea glasses that sat empty for 15 minutes are a recipe for somewhere I would not want to be. My experience at Halftime in Auburn on 23SEP16. After sampling the drafts, I asked the bartender what a fan favorite was. She deferred to another patron, apparently some of that also worked there, and he recommended the brisket sandwich. What a lovely choice that was. Great sandwich with beautiful presentation; melted cheese with brisket. Buttery toast, oh my! Gourmet Texas grilled cheese finished with a hearty brisket bite. It was sweet, salty AND buttery. My goodness it was tasty. Service: The place was full and folks standing yet the staff was attentive and kind! Ambiance: One of the few ultimate sports bars. Countless TVs and sports stations airing a plethora of avenues (college football, volleyball, golf plus the NFL Network). Bonus: a healthy amount of memorabilia on the wall. The short story: The food never arrived. The longer version: We decided to eat here before the A-Day game. I hadn't been back to Auburn in a while so I wasn't familiar with Halftime, but we decided to eat there since there was not a line out the door. (Now I know why!) We were seated immediately and our drink orders were taken with no problems. Those were the only things that went smoothly. After waiting for probably 20 minutes for a menu I finally had to go find some myself. We ordered about 10 minutes later. I guess the waitress didn't even realize she had never given us a menu. After a while we began to notice that everyone around us (even those that came after us) were getting their orders, eating, paying, and leaving. Other groups of people came and the process was repeated. During this time we were never even asked if we would like a refill. After this happened a few times we asked what happened to our missing food and were assured that it would be coming soon. Again, we waited and waited. After more than an hour we just left some money on the table to cover the drinks and left. read more

This place lays claim to having consistently the worst service I've experienced in auburn. Beer towers are a fun novelty but aren't necessarily a better deal than pints. Ok, this review is challenging to write, first and foremost, I do have a connection and a relationship with several employees, the GM, and the owner of this establishment. All of which are incredibly hard working and good people, dedicated to providing every customer with not only a first class experience, but a positive memory to be shared with others. With that being said, I love the location and "classed up" décor from other traditional sports bars in the area. The restaurant is separated into two split, and very distinct levels. The bottom level if what all good sports bar's should aspire to be; double digit televisions, obsessively clean, a marble bar, appropriate amounts of seating for the space, and sports on every channel, as well as good / open conversation. This is a place where a single person or large group could walk into and engage in great conversation / ribbing, with complete strangers, during any season. The top level is rather a mix between a ski lodge and man cave. Hard wood for all the eye to see, a massive projection television consuming an entire wall, and several other smaller TV's for competing sporting events. This is my personal favorite, just because is a bit smaller, the TV is right THERE and it has great access to a rear entrance. With this being a first year restaurant in a city such as Auburn - one with incredible high standards for their sports experience - a reasonable person can assume there are going to be a few hiccups with service and consistency. I personally have never had anything less than a stellar experience when it came to service, drinks, or billing. I have however noticed a fluctuation in the consistency with the quality of food. I, like I'm assuming most are, am a creature of habit and will generally stick with the same three or four things off of a menu I enjoy. I can honestly say, I would be hard pressed to say that the same item I ordered several times, tasted or was presented, the same every single time. It's nothing drastic as meat temps or sauce flavorings just little subtle hints when it involves simple seasoning and so on. Overall the food is of excellent quality - 90% of the time. (But let's be honest, no restaurant ever is at 100%). I highly recommend Halftimes for any social situation and as a game viewing venue. As a fledging restaurant in Auburn I fully believe that in a VERY SHORT period, Halftime's will be the premiere location for food, booze, and sports in the city. read more

We went here after an Auburn game, and got a table right away. The food was delish!!! The Tilted Nachos are a must try appetizer. Sweet potato fries with pulled pork, melted cheese, and barbecue sauce. For the main course I got a Ty Cobb Chicken I think it was called which was also really really good. It came as a sandwich but I got it without the bun. Grilled chicken with bleu cheese, bacon, and guacamole. Service was also good for being busy after a game. A must try!! read more

Stopped in for lunch and came away impressed. The wings were really good, and the trio tacos were fresh and hot. (Shrimp, chicken and steak) Added fresh guacamole and you could tell they just pitted an avocado.(That fresh) My son yelled"I love this chicken" at least three times referring to the homemade chicken tenders. I then ate half of my wife's hamburger for dinner that she brought home and it tasted like I just pulled it off my grill. Really unique and homemade flavor. I've been coming here for quite some time now. Halftime has a really great atmosphere and the food has had quite the turn around. It tastes fresher and the menu has better options. One thing that drives me nuts is the service. I've never had good service here. Once your order is taken, the waitress never returns. I shouldn't have to go up to the bar to get a refill. Also, the amount of food you get for the price is not great. If I want to pay $9 for some nachos, my plate better be loaded up. read more
