Purchase the seafood soup to go twice. Both times the soup spilled in my car on my way home. The containers that they put the soup in are not sealed properly so the second time it happened, I called in to let them know. They told me that they have not ordered the proper tops for the soups and that is why it spilled out. When I called in, they offered to refund because they said it would happen again if I got a remade. After a long 10 hour shift I simply wanted to eat. Honestly felt like there could've been something done for the inconvenience, especially being that I have been going there. read more

Walked into this quaint little abode (yep) disguised as a restaurant. It's tucked into a quiet neighborhood of homes. Unassuming. The smell of a hot fajitas sizzling soon as we walked through the door. it looked and smelled delicious. There was no need to look at the menu. I was sold. Ordered texas fajitas, water and sweet tea and 1 coca cola. Canned drinks are sold individually, $1.80 per can. fresh salsa! delicious. The owner, Ms. Lorena was nice upon check-out. It was a Sunday after church. We were hungry and wanted something "fun and easy." Stumbled upon Rio Grande Restaurant and what an amazing find! The service was friendly and efficient, the dining area was bright and cheerful, the bar (which we didn't use, but...) was quaint and sufficient, and the food was OUT OF THIS WORLD! I had the grand burrito with chicken. The portion was generous, the rice and beans were tasty too, and the taste was fresh, authentic, and yummy. My wife had a shrimp fajita and the shrimps were jumbo and also very tasty and generous. As has been said, the salsa is the very best. When we're next in LaGrange, it's Rio Grande for us. read more

My wife and I ordered takeout. We were staying in a hotel near 85 and weren't sure the extra distance would be worth it. I ordered shrimp with garlic sauce, which I'm not sure is still on the menu. Menu's online which are photos seem to have changed. This had de seeded jalapeños(not hot) onions, and lots of garlic in a sauce I will be trying to replicate for the next few months. Shrimp was not overcooked, near perfect for my wife who detests tough overcooked shrimp. This earned the 5 stars. She ordered Chili rellenos, which were cooked well but could have had a more flavorful sauce. There were mexican restaurants closer, but the shrimp dish was not your typical mexican fare, and not an italian shrimp scampi. Parking was easy across the street next to the restaurant. This place is my always go to for tacos and chips . Can't seem to get past them to order anything else. Texas Margaritas are great also . Reasonably priced and service is always great . Rio grande restaurant is one of the best Mexican restaurants I have been to in Georgia. Their tacos are the so flavorful and they have so many to choose from. My favorite was the chorizo. Their ceviche was delicious. I will be coming back again to try some more of their food and I'll bring some friends along too. The service was wonderful. Great gem I found on yelp just trying to satisfy a craving nearby. Probably never would have noticed the location otherwise. Food is authentic quick and margaritas were great as well. On the outside it doesn't look like much so we were concerned. It's a small restaurant on the inside plenty of seating outside in season. There were 13 of us including some children took 3 tables. Our server was friendly and efficient she had our drinks and appetizers there in a quick minute. With so many of us I was concerned it'd be overwhelming to her. But she wasn't flustered at all. Our food arrived quickly it was authentic and delicious. There were 4 individual tickets and efficient to the end our tickets were all correct. Don't let the location keep you from some of the best and authentic Mexican food in the area. Staff are friendly and provide great hospitality, menu is diverse with something for everyone including kid friendly. I specifically told the waitress I was allergic to peppers. They put green pepper in my food. They took my food away, but charged me for mine. I only ate 1/4 of it. They did not care. Very poor service. My husband even saw the green peppers. The waitress never came back to check. She was a very young girl. When we check out the other lady said it was probably in the salad. Then she changed her story and said they put no green pepper in it. It was very visual. Definitely was a green pepper. read more

Our kids love Mexican food, but are also very picky! We were visiting in town and looking for a place they might enjoy. This place was a huge success! They have basic queso dip along with cheese quesadillas and beef and cheese soft tacos that are great for kids. For the adults, the salsa is very flavorful and the burrito that we ordered was great as well. The staff was friendly and the order was ready for pickup as quoted.
