Talk about a divey Mexi pad @ LaGrange, Juanito's hits it fo sure; Place always full on each of my visits; Dug the local home vibe of the regular patrons and v friendly kind staff. Their gratis chips y salsa was way fresher, better, spicier, than ur usual Tex-mex place. Also went out of their way to gets me a v fiery fresh hot sauce for me quesadilla. Not blistering; certainly v tasty. Not sure y the many sh__ reviews; Might be due to the longer than avg wait time on entrees. This place a 3.5 rounded to 4. There IS a reason it always Packed. Wait times not ridiculous; J's of course slows down some, when crazy packed fo dinner. Our waiter made sure to check in multiple times during night. They did bring my quesadilla before the soup. Wow what a fantastic experience... We were just traveling through from New Orleans to Atlanta and stopped for the night and really wanted Mexican... We looked at several reviews and Juanito's by far had the best and it was a good decision! read more

We ate at Juanito's lots in the past, then they had a string of bad luck: a remo that was s-l-o-w, then an equipment fire. Meanwhile a New Mexican place opened in town...more about that elsewhere... and now they are open and serving the same great food as before. My family and I went here twice and I am ready to go back again!! The first time, was during a Sunday lunch rush, but it wasn't too crowded or busy or anything like that, and these kinds of things really bother me greatly , because I'm in a wheelchair and I hate it when people start starring at me. My husband and I were traveling through the area and decided to spend the night in town. This restaurant was close to our hotel. We arrived on Saturday at 6:30 pm. The place was busy but we were seated promptly. The server was very attentive and the food came out quickly. They provide complimentary chips and salsa. We ordered margaritas to drink. We ordered the Chile Poblano dinner (stuffed with ground beef) and the Chili Colorado dinner. Both were very good. I would stop in again when I am in the area. read more

I read a bunch of the reviews posted here and I can understand the reasons for the bad ones. I have been here several times and this place is always PACKED and super busy. Whenever I've eaten here, I always either order the food to go and pick it up or I've ordered through Door Dash. The reason is because it's always very busy and crowded and I think they have an issue with service and things taking a long time. The food itself is really good Mexican food. It's always delicious and seasoned perfectly and the portions are huge. I would personally not recommend you eat in the restaurant because of the reasons I already listed. Its just busy and probably not enough servers. But if you just call your order in and pick it up and eat it at home or order delivery, you'll get a great Mexican meal thats reasonably priced. I would recommnd this place to anyone who likes good Mexican food and invite anyone who has had a bad dine-in experience to try take out/pick up from this place and give them another try. Great atmosphere!! Loved that it reminded me of home of just being a family friendly, good, Mexican restaurant. Service was great! Staff was friendly. The portion size for the price is great! The chicken & rice soup was DELISH! The frozen strawberry margarita was great! The only reason for the 4 stars is because my husband was not impressed by what he ordered and I do have to say that I tried it and it wasn't all that good. It was lacking flavor or freshness a bit. It's been a couple of months since we went so I'm not 100% certain what it was he ordered but it was either a Chile relleno or an enchilada plate. I am wondering if that was just a one-off type of thing or if the regular entrees(other than the soup that I got) are kind of a bit bland. I ate there with my wife and sister 3/6/22. My sister's burrito she said was good; my wife's taco salad was good. I had the Mexican Steak it was much less than good. The meat was so tough it was hard to cut and was full of tough cartilage I spent more time getting this out of the meat than eating. The remainder was so tough and chewy I took 3/4 of it home to my dog. The service was non existent never ask for beverage refill on tea or water plus only one free refill on soft drinks ( and the glasses are small with way too much ice cutting down on the initial quanity of beverage). Why I gave 2 stars I guess I was in a genius mood. I can not recommend this as a good resturant in Lagrange. I had a bad experience overall. read more

We've been going here for years and this was the absolute worst experience we ever had. Food was terrible (chicken taco salad). It smelled like the chicken came out of a can. The whole salad was lettuce with 2 pieces of chicken, no vegetables and the iced tea tasted like soap water. When we explained to the waitress what was going on she went and told the other servers and they were laughing at us. I paid for the meal (even though I shouldn't have) and as we were leaving I hear in a very sarcastic voice "have a nice day" with more laughter from the staff. read more

Just walked out of this place. We arrived at 6:00pm and were seated right away(party of 8 so automatically they were going to charge us 18% gratuity for group larger than 5!). Ordered drinks within 5-10 minutes. Then had to wait 20 minutes to order food. After an hour of waiting our food still hadn't come out while all the tables around us had been seated after us and were almost done with their food. Great food at reasonable prices! This place is centrally locates and spacious. There's a huge selection of menu items. You can find any of your traditional Mexican dishes. I ordered the fajitas since this was recommended by the waitress. It came with guacamole, rice, and beans. The fajitas were very good. Everyone was happy with their order. Most dinner items are priced under $10. The fried ice cream was a nice treat. The waiting staff did a great job bringing our food and drinks fast, with lots of free chips and salsa. I would do 1/2 star if I could. We ordered through doordash, ordered two orders of queso dip and got one bag of chips to share. What in the world? Food is bland and was cold and soggy. Husband ordered a shrimp quesadilla lacks cheese, I ordered the Texas nachos and it looks like it was thrown together with scraps. We only used Juanito's because Los Nopales wasn't delivering. It has been three years since we've tried Juanito's and it will be another three years before we give them another shot. I had to heat up the cheese dip because it was almost solid. 1/22/21: Ordered takeout. Taco salad wrapped in foil, no box, no cardboard on bottom. Ordered Dinner #5, was missing the taco, and chalupa and burrito existed only of ground beef and awful sauce (tomato?). Ceiling is falling apart and hanging down in the waiting area outside the foyer and interior smells of very foul odor and is falling apart. Health Department needs to pay a visit ASAP! read more

The service was excellent and food was typical Tex-Mex cuisine. The menu had plenty to choose from. Margs were generous as we ordered a pitcher and had our glasses full along with a full pitcher. The interior was kind of quirky but in a good way. Stopped in while staying at Great Wolf Lodge. So the prices were right compared to the Lodge prices. read more

We ate here for lunch on a Thursday. We walked in and had to wait a few minutes before someone saw us and seated us. Once seated we were brought chips and salsa which was very tasty. My husband had to get our menus which is why this isnt 5 stars. Once the waitress got our drinks she brought them out quickly. We both ordered the Te xas fajita lunch guacamole dip and cheese dip. We had to wait a little bit for our food but once we got it, the food was great! Everything seasoned well. Not over cooked and fresh. This was one of the worst experiences I've had. The waiter was allegedly new and could not answer any of the questions we had. Apparently they have items on the menu that "no one has heard of". He was extremely inattentive as we asked 4 times for more water. The food took forever by Mexican restaurant standards and was so salty it was almost inedible. If you dine here, do NOT use the restroom...they are absolutely disgusting. read more
