For example, they serve fried green tomatoes, but they are smothered in a red sauce and covered with cheese-they are excellent. The best thing about it was the bread and pesto. Not much flavor in the food, everything was hidden/swimming in sauce but no seasoning. Our server seemed a bit ditzy as she forgot our drinks, ordered the wrong thing and had to have it remade, and another server had to remind her to attend to us. We boxed our own food even though I saw another server boxing food for customers. James was the best as he wasn't our server but still took time to assist us. We were there for my 10 year old daughter's birthday dinner. She had grown sleepy waiting for her meal. I paid, left tip and was glad to leave. The main hostess was very nice. I mirror the other commenter: 4 % charge for using a credit card was ridiculous . Travelers often do and thus should not be so expensive in a town that is this small. We came to Venucci for Saturday dinner based on recommendations from coworkers. We didn't have reservations, but they were able to seat us at a small table in the center of the restaurant. The restaurant space is not that large so it filled up quickly with diners. I think there are more tables in the back and there are also tables outside in front of the restaurant. There is free parking in the parking deck located right behind the strip and also street parking in front of the restaurant. *If you check into Yelp, you get a 50% coupon on an appetizer. Appetizer: - CRAB CAKES: two crab cake patties with a white zesty sauce. We would not order these again as it was dry and bland. - HOUSE SALADS: there were a variety of colors in this salad. The salad dressing is definitely the star of the salad. The salad dressing is so popular here that they sell it in a bottle to diners as well. - HOT & FRESH BREAD: One of the servers placed fresh out of the oven bread and olive oil halfway through our meal. How great that the bread was hot and fresh! I believe the bread and olive oil is complimentary to all diners. Entrees: - CHICKEN TORTELLINI CARBONARO: Instead of tortellini pasta, I opted for linguine. The entree was still tasty. It could have had more Alfredo sauce. I would like to try the tortellini version of it the next time I dine here. - SALMON CAPELLA: the dish was good. My boyfriend loved it. Service was okay. It could have been better, but I think it's because they don't have enough servers. Our server was probably serving the entire restaurant. We got our entrees after about an hour. Overall, we will probably dine here again as we don't know many restaurants in Lagrange and I am a fan of anything pasta and the portions are HUGE. Definitely worth the price. read more

I cannot begin to describe how good this place is! I used to live in LaGrange and would frequently visit, but now even after we've moved my wife and I still make the two hour journey every few months just to do dinner at Venucci. For the amount of food lunch prices are hard to beat. Dinner is a little more pricy, but worth it as it includes a fantastic salad and bread. I get chicken tortellini carbonara every time and it's more than enough for two meals. Highly recommended; great food, great service, and fair prices! Loved the food but like other reviewers said I left with a bad taste in my mouth. We were charged a $6 split fee on our children's order, sure charge adults maybe but kids, come on. Our kids could have had a less expensive kids meal but we opted for a higher end dish and let them split it. We even said don't waste a salad on our kids which comes with the meal. We were then charged a credit card fee which was higher than any credit card actually charges. I really hesitate going back since 10% of our bill was fees. It was a slap in the face after what was a nice experience. Owners that do this to their customers don't realize how devalued it makes you feel as a patron. Price your food fairly, portion it appropriately and deal with the customers choices. Don't punish them! read more

My husband had the steak and salmon special while I ordered the shrimp and Scallops CRA Diavolo. Everything was delicious except I wasn't prepared for the amount of Oregano in the fra diavolo sauce. I had asked the waitress what diavolo was and she said a spiced red wine sauce. Well, I guess I expected heat, but the the oregano was so pungent that I couldn't even eat the dish. We came here while on vacation at Great Wolf Lodge. We are glad we did. The fresh baked bread with dipping sauce was fantastic. We started with Fried Mozzarella and Stuffed Mushrooms. The fried mozzarella wasn't your typical freezer ones. These were awesome and huge. Dinner was veal parmesan for me, spaghetti meatballs for the kids and Tortellini Alfredo for my wife. We all enjoyed our entrees, and had the homemade cheesecake for dessert. We were visiting LaGrange and was looking for a menu on the outside of the building when this nice lady opened up the door and handed us a menu and told us to come on in, the food was great. We were so impressed by her excitement and we went in. WOW AND WOW! The food was outstanding. Between the salads and main course we said maybe four words to each. They were; "This is absolutely amazing." How can you top the most delicious eggplant parm and chicken Marsala? Coffee and Tiramisu and Oreo cheesecake. The service was great. We both said the same thing as we walked away; "This is New York quality." Thank you for making my birthday extra special by surprising us with an outstanding dinner. Lol. Ordered two appetizers, the mozarella stick was a hit, but the fried green tomatoes with spinach and sauce.. that was . I dont even like fried green tomatoes. Next came bread. Freshly baked? It was definitely warm when it came to our table. It was delicious but a bit dense if you know you're gonna have pasta as your main course. My husband and i were completely full before the main course arrived. His veal parmagiana was good. My chicken marsala was delicious. I am one of the leaders on our children's ministry family trip to Georgia where we used Venucci to cater 54 individual meals for our 16 families on the trip. Tulla and Britt were amazing to work with. They were very communicative and made sure we had all the options we needed. They were sure to contact us 2 days before the meal was to be delivered and make sure there were no changes and to confirm the date, time and location of our catering delivery. Our families absolutely raved about all of their food. The portions were extremely generous and the pasta was so fresh. We had a variety of food including spaghetti with meatballs, lasagna, penne with vodka sauce, chicken tortellini carbonara, eggplant parmesan, grilled chicken salad, butter pasta and chicken tenders. They offer gluten free pasta options as well which was used for 2 of our group members with gluten allergies. I was told that the gluten free pasta was amazing. The salad with the meals was just as delicious as the main course. After our meal was delivered we received a call to make sure everything was correct, making sure everyone was satisfied and enjoying their meal. The customer service from Venucci was top notch. Delicious and amazing on every level. Went here tonight with my husband for a date night. Our waitress Bentley was one of the best servers I've ever experienced. She was on top of drinks, offered a variety of their dressings for us to try, and was an overall joy to talk to. Very attentive and fast service.
