Exactly what I hoped for from reading Yelp reviews! Brett was terrific. Gave me updates on ETA, did a great repair job on our ebike, which had been in a minor accident and needed a tune-up, and identified a problem in the front gear. He didn't have the part so stopped by the next day to replace the gear, found that wasn't the problem, but did some additional repair that stabilized it, and didn't charge for it. I took the bike out for a moderate ride after the repair and it was like brand new. It's also so great to have someone come to the house and be able to schedule weekends. read more

So happy I found this service! I was able to make an appointment 2 days after getting a gnarly flat rear tire on my ebike. Sure, it's more expensive than taking it to a bike shop but I have neither a vehicle that can transport this bike (it's a real tank) nor the skills, time and confidence to DIY, so this was a no-brainer for me. Kyle fixed my wife's ebike quickly (chain was wedged between crank and battery) and was kind enough to install a fender and front-lamp in addition to tuning the gear shift mechanism, etc. That is great service and great value and we're customers for life now. I know my limitations. I bought a Rad Power Bike Mini Step Thru foldable from Rad. The guy at the counter told me it would be easy to assemble. I was not fooled. I had my bike shipped to me and simultaneously arranged for Velofix to come help. James arrived at the appointed time, took all the boxes into his van, and two hours later my ebike was perfectly assembled and ready to ride. Fan-Tas-Tic! I highly recommend this service! read more

I gave Velofix a try on April 28th of 2016. I was excited to try this new bicycle service/repair business because they come to you. A lot of bicycle shops require a drop-off and 2-3 day wait and I don't have the patience for waiting - so Velofix seemed like a perfect solution! I purchased the Yellow Jersey (major tune) for $89.99, I also had a new Ultegra chain I asked to be installed and added Lizard Skin bar tape. My total with tax came to $179.73. "The Domestique" / Basic Tune Up includes * Frame & Fork Safety Inspection * Drivetrain Component wear inspection & Cable/Housing Inspection * Bearing Wear Inspection (Wheel Bearings/Bottom Bracket/Headset/Pulley Wheels/Pedals) * Gear Adjust and Tune * Brake Adjust * Headset/Bottom Bracket Adjust * Full Bike Bolt Torque Check and Adjustment * Post Service Test Ride "Yellow Jersey" / Major Tune adds * Full Drivetrain "Strip, Soak and Scrub" off bike and lubrication * Frame Clean and Polish * Full Wheel Truing The reason for only 2 stars is because I know they didn't strip, soak and scrub components off of my bike (the cassette was not that clean) and they didn't do a frame clean and polish (frame was still dirty). Then after riding my bike up a few hills I realized it was making clicking noises because the rear derailleur was not properly adjusted (I took it to Greggs and they adjusted it for free on the spot). I really wasn't that upset over the bad tune, but what compelled me to write a negative review was that the bar tape I purchased wore out after 2 months - not Velofix's fault. I only use Lizard Skin bar tape, it's really good, I think I just got a bad set. After emailing Velofix and sending pictures they contacted Lizard Skin they decided this wasn't normal and said they would reach out to Lizard Skin. After 8 emails starting on June 21, 2016 I'm still without bar tape, I'm writing this on July 21st. On June 27th someone named Kyle emailed me, "I'm going to send out a new set of bar tape." and then on July 11th Kyle emailed "Hey James, I have your new bar tape and will be mailing it soon. Just wanted to let you know." Those were the entire emails. I still haven't received any bar tape and when/if I do I assume that VeloFix expects me to install or pay someone to install it for me. If I would have done this at a normal bike shop everything would have fixed much faster. TL/DR - Yes VeloFix comes to you, but they lack the same level of service and support as a traditional bike shop. I would not recommend using them. read more

Kyle was great at communicating with me to get the delivery of my bike all set up. He kept me from freaking out when it looked like FedEx had "lost" my bike. James, my mechanic, was a PROat assembly and delivery of my new ride! He was very knowledgeable and skilled, and took the time to explain all of the aspects of my new bike, and helped me transfer my fit from the old bike to the new one. I have been using SEATTLE Velofix for my bike services for many years. I couldn't be more pleased with Kyle's quality of work and timeliness. It's incredibly convenient to have my bikes serviced right at my home, instead of packing it up and taking it to a bike shop. I was out on a bike ride with my friend - we started at The Sam Smith Park, (I rode down from the Ballard area), and my friend was very disappointed with my poorly cared for bike and extremely loud, dried out and cranky chain! He was not happy with me as we, or I should say I, loudly departed on our 3-hour plus ride. As we made our way on the I-90 Trail and up through Bellevue, we spotted a Velofix Van at our stop light. As we crossed, I waved down Kyle and asked if he could help me out. Without hesitation, he pulled over and hooked me up and greased up my chain! This is a company that is committed to riders and making sure everyone is safe and happy. And boy, Kyle saved a friendship that day! I didn't offer to pay or even a tip - I didn't have any cash and I do regret this one crucial piece of the story - but this is a huge shout out to Kyle for not even caring about that and he didn't hesitate to help out a biker in need! Josh at the Overlake transit center made time to look at my issue. Quickly identified the root cause and fixed it. I also have a non-standard bike (Rohloff internal hub). Josh discussed it with me but made recommendations about where I should take that. Definitely planning on using them in the future for my standard bikes. Note that they're mostly a mobile shop. Kyle came by to pickup my new bike and setup everything. I'm new to the area so didn't have a bike rack to take it to a LBS but glad I found VeloFix. Kyle found an issue with the rear hanger and straightened that out and had Shimano warranty my hydraulic brakes which was not functioning. Kyle is the man. I worked with him to find the right crankset to fit my bike and when it came time for installation the part didn't fit perfectly with my frame. Kyle then drove to FSA to get the part, attached it and got it back to me in the same day. My experience with Velofix has been very good. Roy Norby came out to my house with a van and fixed up 4 bikes, one of which was in bad shape- it needed a new chain, brakes , and other fixes. He repaired it and our two ebikes, and did it quickly and they're working well, even after a couple of accidents. Roy Norby is very highly recommended. read more

Velofix is a mobile bike shop. You schedule online and they park either at your house or on the street. Their bike repair van has everything in it that you would expect a bike shop to. This is much more convenient than making an appointment (many shops in Seattle are booked out in spring and summer) and having to be without my bike for a few days. Service is excellent and speedy. They came out last Saturday and turned it around in only an hour. Great work highly recommended. read more
